We retrospectively compared the therapeutic effects of combination therapy with prednisolone (PSL) and oral tacrolimus (TAC) or azathioprine (AZA) on progressive interstitial pneumonia with systemic sclerosis (SSc-PIP).

The effects of PSL (0.2-0.5 mg/kg/day) and TAC (3 mg/day) or AZA (1-2 mg/kg/day) therapies (n = 18) were evaluated for short (12 months) and long (36 months or more) periods.

In the short period, IP improved in 6 and 5 patients and was stable in 12 and 13 patients in the TAC and AZA groups, respectively. In the long period, 11 patients were followed up in the TAC group and 12 in the AZA group. IP improved in 4 and 2 patients and was stable in seven and nine in the TAC and AZA groups, respectively. Several studies have revealed low vaccinations coverage among health-care workers (HCWs) for all vaccinations. The aim of our study was to evaluate the impact of the implementation of an on-site vaccination-dedicated clinic on the vaccination coverage rates of HCWs.

A quasi-experimental pre-post intervention study was carried out among undergraduate and postgraduate students attending medical and health-care professions schools.

We enrolled 804 students, 404 in the control and 400 in the experimental group. A significantly higher increase of vaccination coverage in the experimental group than in the control group for all the investigated vaccinations (
<0.001) was found. The odds of adherence to vaccinations in the experimental group, compared to the control group, ranged from 6.9-fold (95% CI 3.51-13.44) to 18.9-fold (95% CI 10.85-32.96). The increase in the coverage rate in the control group was between 2.5% and 3.5%, whereas in the experimental group, higher increases were found, ranging from 34.8% to 71%.

Studies have reported decreased psychological health after lateral ankle sprain (LAS) using numerous PROs. The purpose of this systematic review was to critically evaluate individual studies, summarize PROs utilized to quantify psychological health, and examine the effect of ankle injury on psychological health between groups (1 LAS, >1 LAS, and healthy controls). Databases searched included CINAHL, MEDLINE, SPORTDiscus, APA, Psychinfo and PubMed Central. All case-control studies were critically appraised using the modified Downs and Black. Effect sizes (ES) were calculated between the groups (1 LAS, >1 LAS, healthy control) for each of the identified studies, for each included PRO used to quantify psychological impairments. Nine high-quality manuscripts were included. Overall, individuals with history of > 1 LAS self-reported greater psychological impairments compared to healthy controls (ES range = -0.37-12.16), while those with 1 LAS had similar psychological health to healthy control groups (ES rang e = -0.65-0.65). Conclusion The main findings from this systematic review were individuals with > 1 LAS have increased levels of injury-related fear and decreased psychological health compared to healthy controls. PROs can aid clinicians in identifying psychological health concerns during rehabilitation.
