Further studies are necessary to confirm the correlation between PT and feeding intolerance.
We found that about half of our patients developed a transient feeding intolerance during PT that ceased in the vast majority of them after termination of the therapy. Further studies are necessary to confirm the correlation between PT and feeding intolerance.Information sharing, a component of patient and family engagement (PFE), is an important process that may contribute to intensive care unit (ICU) quality of care. Yet, virtually no studies explore how the process of information sharing unfolds in the ICU from the interprofessional team and family member perspectives. To better understand the process of information sharing, we conducted ethnographic fieldwork in a 20-bed medical ICU, focusing on behaviors and interactions of the interprofessional team and family members (May 2016 - October 2016). We completed 17.5 observation hours, 6 shadowing sessions, and 12 semi-structured interviews with 17 total participants. We used thematic content analysis and iterative inductive coding to identify three themes about the information sharing process 1) family factors (health literacy and past experience with the ICU environment) influence information sharing; 2) clinicians strategies can support engagement in the process of information sharing (assessing families' need for information, understanding a families' hope, using rounds as an opportunity for information sharing); 3) the process of information sharing allows for trust building between families and the ICU team. Our findings suggest that information sharing is a crucial process that may serve as a catalyst for effective patient and family engagement in the ICU.Introduction The new World Health Organization (WHO) guidelines on physical activity incorporate new concepts, such as sedentary behavior, recommendations for specific age groups and for people living with chronic conditions and disability. This could be extrapolated for the first time to people with hemophilia (PWH) within the framework in which these recommendations are applicable. The benefits of physical activity for PWH include physical, psychological and social benefits.Areas covered This is a narrative review of the literature. We searched the MEDLINE and the Cochrane Library for WHO guidelines and articles related to physical activity in PWH. For all population groups, the benefits of performing exercise outweigh the possible harms. In PWH, there is a perceived increased risk of bleeding associated with physical activity. However, research suggests that this risk is associated with trauma during activity rather than intensity of physical activity, which offers the most health benefits.Expert opinion Given the hematological, physical and functional conditions of PWH are highly variable, individualized counseling is needed based on age, therapeutic strategy, degree of arthropathy and level of disability. In this article, we analyze the applicability of the WHO recommendations to PWH, which is important to further promote healthy lifestyle motivation.
Characterization of wheezing phenotypes in children might help to identify the underlying mechanisms through which asthma occurs. In our study, we aimed to describe wheezing phenotypes in Turkish children and to identify risk factors according to phenotypes.
651 wheezy children were evaluated and 5 wheezing phenotypes were described according to age of onset, atopy and persistence at 6 years of age and risk factors were identified.
Distribution of wheezing phenotypes was transient early wheeze (TEW)(34.9%) non-atopic wheeze (NAW) (18%), atopic wheeze (AW) (22.3%), intermediate onset wheeze (IOW) (11.1%), late onset wheeze (LOW) (11.7%). LOW, AW, and IOW were associated with, father's, sibling's and family's atopy (p0.001) whereas LOW and AW were associated with mother's asthma and atopy as well as family's asthma (
< 0.05). Atopic dermatitis and allergic rhinitis were common of patients with LOW, AW, and IOW (
< 0.05). İnfection was the major trigger for TEW and NAW whereas multiple triggers were common of AW, LOW, and IOW. Allergens were mostly associated with AW, IOW and LOW. Aeroallergen-specific IgE positivity was mostly with AW, IOW, and LOW phenotype. Skin prick tests showed multiple allergen sensitivity in IOW, LOW groups and mostly single allergen in AW phenotype. Modified asthma predictive index (mAPI) positivity was high in all groups except TEW and NAW.
With this study we classified five wheeze phenotypes and found that atopy and family's atopy history, maternal asthma were strongly associated with AW, LOW, and IOW phenotypes which were usually effected by allergens or multiple triggers.

Here, we present the M6ADD (m6A-diseases database) database, a public data resource containing manually curated data on potential m6A-disease associations for which some experimental evidence is available; the related high-throughput sequencing data are also provided and analysed by using different computational methods. To give researchers a tool to query the m6A modification data, the M6ADD was designed as a web-based comprehensive resource focusing on the collection, storage and online analysis of m6A modifications, aimed at exploring the associations between m6A modification and gene disorders and diseases. The M6ADD includes 222 experimentally confirmed m6A-disease associations, involving 59 diseases from a review of more than 2000 published papers. The M6ADD also includes 409,229 m6A-disease associations obtained by computational and statistical methods from 30 high-throughput sequencing datasets. read more In addition, we provide data on 5239 potential m6A regulatory proteins related to 24 cancers based on network analysis prediction methods. In addition, we have developed a tool to explore the function of m6A-modified genes through the protein-protein interaction networks. The M6ADD can be accessed at http//m6add.edbc.org/.
