Setting is a dystopian trade planet, Xyphon, run by a horizontal monopoly, Sparrow. It is mostly populated of humans and occasional aliens that came there, after Earth was entirely used up. (Being mostly a shell now.) The issue is said monopoly isn't actually objectively evil, as it has done just as much, if not much more, good for the people of this far away planet than harm. Despite this, they have been known to commit moral atrocities in the pursuit of developing their scientific prowess. Most people making up Sparrow are actually just those that want to put science to good use. However, those that do not have such a moral code have been known to cause scandals within. One of the largest is when for about fifteen years, a group of scientists took many animals and people away, testing on all of them in various ways.

Thus a resistance movement called The Nightingales was made after the experiments they tested escaped by a newer scientist that went rouge, named Emmy May. She was however, killed several years after they escaped and went into hiding. This set them off, vowing revenge on Sparrow. The experiments were called, "Mutants" and the people are on high alert to remove of those 'Atrocities' that Sparrow created. Their base is a small seedy bar waitored and bartender by those that can pass as being human, with some hiding of certain features of course. There is a secret passageway into it only members know. The Nightingales live in the below rooms, as well as plan there. They all consider themselves to be like a family to eachother, and will stick up for eachother no matter what.

Nobody really knows if there is a 'Good' or 'Bad' side as Sparrow just wanted to do science and help people, and Nightingales just want revenge for their suffering and those that hate them just for existing. It is unknown currently, if the two groups, the large Sparrow, and the small Nightingales, will ever be in peace.
