Gene expression data related to EC were accessed from TCGA database, and the "edgeR" package was used to screen differentially expressed genes. TargetScan, miRDB, and miRTarBase databases were used to predict potential targets for the target miRNA miR-145-5p. qRT-PCR and Western blot were performed to assess the expression of miR-145-5p and ABRACL in EC cells. Dual-luciferase reporter assay was performed to validate the targeting relationship between miR-145-5p and ABRACL. Functional experiments including CCK-8 assay, Transwell migration, and invasion assays were used to detect the proliferation, migration, and invasion of EC cells.

The expression of miR-145-5p was significantly decreased in EC, while ABRACL was remarkably increased. In addition, there was a negative correlation identified between miR-145-5p and ABRACL mRNA. Overexpressing miR-145-5p was able to suppress cell proliferation, migration, and invasion, whereas silencing miR-145-5p posed an opposite effect. In the meantime, ABRACL was identified as a direct target of miR-145-5p by dual-luciferase reporter assay. Furthermore, miR-145-5p could inhibit the expression of ABRACL, in turn inhibiting the proliferation, migration, and invasion of EC cells.

Pericoronitis is a painful inflammatory condition commonly associated with third molar teeth. The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between oral hygiene and periodontal health status and the presence of pericoronitis in semi-impacted third molar teeth.

A cross-sectional study was conducted, and 54 patients having at least one mandibular vertically semi-impacted third molar tooth with or without pericoronitis were consecutively enrolled. Subjects with pericoronitis and subjects with healthy third molars were selected according to symptoms in the gingiva overlying semi-impacted third molar teeth. Periodontal health status and oral hygiene were evaluated with the measures of plaque index (PI), gingival index (GI), and total number of sites with a probing depth (PD) ≥ 4 mm. The clinical data collected in this study was analyzed with Mann-Whitney
test using SPSS 20.0 package program.

The PI scores were found to be significantly higher in patients with pericoronitis (
< 0.05). Although the GI scores and PD scores were higher in patients with pericoronitis, the difference did not reach statistical significance when compared with those in healthy subjects (
> 0.05).

The findings obtained in this study suggest that the amount of dental plaque was positively associated with third molar pericoronitis. Gingival and periodontal health conditions were similar between patients with and without pericoronitis. Improving oral hygiene and controlling dental plaque may help prevent third molar pericoronitis.

We aimed to perform a meta-analysis to determine whether antibiotic prophylaxis reduces the incidence of urinary tract infections (UTIs) after urodynamic studies (UDS).

We conducted a systematic search of PubMed, Web of Science, Ovid, Elsevier, ClinicalKey, Embase, Cochrane Library, Medline, and Wiley Online Library. In addition, there was no statistically significant difference in the risk of adverse events (RR = 4.93, 95% CI 0.61-40.05). No significant heterogeneity or publication bias was found in this study.

is an index of pro-resolving/proinflammatory balance. We aim to explore the role of RvD2/LTB
ratio in ischemic stroke complicated with DM.

The plasma levels of RvD2 and LTB
were analyzed by enzyme immunoassay in stroke patients with DM (DM + AIS group) or without DM (nonDM+AIS group). Patients were followed up at 90 days after stroke onset, and modified Rankin Score (mRS) was assessed. The association of RvD2/LTB
ratio with stroke severity and prognosis was also analyzed.
