Twenty-seven operational taxonomic units were enriched in subclinical UC cohort with majority of the taxa from the Firmicutes phylum. Inference of putative microbial functional pathways from rectal biopsy microbiome suggested a differential increase in interleukin-17 signaling and T-helper cell differentiation pathways. Rectal biopsy tissue was suggested to be more suitable than fecal samples for microbiome assays to distinguish patients with subclinical UC from healthy adults. Assessment of the rectal biopsy microbiome may offer clinical insight into UC disease progression and predict relapse of the diseases.Pattern recognition receptors (PRRs) are responsible for Aspergillus fumigatus recognition by innate immunity and its subsequent immune signaling. The triggering receptor expressed on myeloid cells 1 (TREM1) is a recently characterized pro-inflammatory receptor constitutively expressed on the surface of neutrophils and macrophages. A soluble form (sTREM1) of this protein that can be detected in human body fluids has been identified. Here we investigated the role of TREM1 during invasive pulmonary aspergillosis (IPA). IPA patients displayed significantly higher levels of sTREM1 in bronchoalveolar lavages when compared to control patients. Functional analysis in TREM1 showed that the levels of sTREM1 and TREM1 pathway-related cytokines were influenced by single nucleotide polymorphisms in TREM1. In addition, we confirmed a role of TREM1 on antifungal host defense against A. fumigatus in a murine model of IPA. TREM1 deficiency increased susceptibility to infection in the immunosuppressed murine host. Deletion of TREM1 showed delayed innate and adaptive immune responses and impaired pro-inflammatory cytokine responses. The absence of TREM1 in primary macrophages attenuated the TLR signaling by altering the expression of both receptor and effector proteins that are critical to the response against A. fumigatus. In this study, and for the first time, we demonstrate the key role for the TREM1 receptor pathway during IPA.
Estrogen-related receptor alpha (ESRRA) was reported to play an important role in multiple biological processes of neoplastic diseases. The roles of ESRRA in endometrial cancer have not been fully investigated yet.

Expression data and clinicopathological data of patients with uteri corpus endometrial carcinoma (UCEC) were obtained from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA). Comprehensive bioinformatics analysis was performed, including receiver operating characteristics (ROC) curve analysis, Kaplan-Meier survival analysis, gene ontology (GO) enrichment analysis, and Gene Set Enrichment Analysis (GSEA). Immunohistochemistry was used to detect the protein expression level of ESRRA and CCK-8 assay was performed to evaluate the effect of ESRRA on the proliferation ability.

A total of 552 UCEC tissues and 35 normal tissues were obtained from the TCGA database. The mRNA and protein expression level of ESRRA was highly elevated in UCEC compared with normal tissues, and was closely associated with poor prognosis. ROC and therapeutic target.
To determine the outcome of subclinical lupus myocarditis (LM) over twelve months with regards to mortality; incidence of clinical LM and change in imaging parameters (echocardiography and cardiac magnetic resonance [CMR]). To evaluate the impact of immunosuppression on CMR evidence of myocardial tissue injury.

SLE patients with and without CMR evidence of myocardial injury (as per 2009 Lake Louise criteria [LLC]) were included. Analysis at baseline and follow-up included clinical evaluation, laboratory and imaging analyses (echocardiography and CMR). Clinical LM was defined as clinical features of LM supported by echocardiographic and/or biochemical evidence of myocardial dysfunction. Subclinical LM was defined as CMR myocardial injury without clinical LM.

Forty-nine SLE patients were included with follow-up analyses (after 12 months) available in 36 patients. Twenty-five patients (51%) received intensified immunosuppressive therapy during follow-up for indications related to SLE. Disease activity (SLEsubclinical LM persisted despite improved SLEDAI-2K, serological markers, cardiac function and CMR mass index. Subclinical LM did not progress to clinical LM and had no significant prognostic implications over 12 months. Immunosuppressive therapy did not have any significant effect on the presence of CMR evidence of myocardial tissue injury. Improvement in CMR mass index correlated with reduction in myocardial oedema and may be used to monitor SLE myocardial injury.

To determine whether steroids are effective in treating adults with acute vestibular neuritis.

PubMed, Embase, CINAHL, Cochrane CENTRAL, Web of Science, CAB Abstract, ICTRP, LILACS, PEDRO, ClinicalTrials.Gov, Google Scholar, NARIC, and OT Seeker.

A systematic review was undertaken for articles reporting subjective and/or objective outcomes of corticosteroids in adults with acute vestibular neuritis between December 2010 and October 2019. CMC-Na Reports of patient recovery from clinical vestibular outcomes at various time points and adverse effects from corticosteroids were of interest. Statistical analysis included qualitative and quantitative assessments. A limited meta-analysis of the data was performed through a random effects model.

Eight studies met the criteria, and 6 were included in the meta-analysis. No significant differences between the groups (corticosteroid vs placebo, corticosteroid vs vestibular exercise, or corticosteroid vs combination of vestibular exercise and corticosteroid) were reported canal paresis but no long-term benefits in canal paresis and symptomatic recovery. Future studies should consider including a wider variety of clinical vestibular tests and frequent acute follow-ups to monitor the effects of corticosteroids.
