Neither microstructure analysis nor descriptive sensory analysis of goat white brined cheeses produced from high heat treated milk has been done before.While competitive training is usually associated with the prevalence of back pain and injuries in athletes, little attention is being paid to the positive effects of sport-specific exercises on core musculature in the prevention of back problems. This scoping review aims (i) to map the literature that addresses the effects on reduction of back problems following athlete training with differing demands on the core musculature and (ii) to identify gaps in the existing literature and propose future research on this topic. The main literature search was conducted on the MEDLINE, PubMed, Web of Science, Scopus, and Cochrane Library databases and was completed on Elsevier, SpringerLink, and Google Scholar. A total of 21 research articles met the inclusion criteria. The findings of 17 studies identified that core strengthening and core stabilization exercises, alone or in combination with athlete training, contribute to the reduction of back pain in athletes, whereas only four studies revealed no significant association of core muscle strength and/or endurance with back problems. Nevertheless, more research is warranted to elucidate the pros and cons of purely sport-specific training with differing demands on the core musculature on back health in athletes. This could help us to design prevention strategies specifically tailored to individual athletes.Preeclampsia is associated with an increased cardiovascular morbidity of mother and offspring, thus contributing to a substantial burden in women and children's health. It has been proven that endothelial progenitor cell (EPC) numbers and functional characteristics are impaired in cardiovascular disease and preeclampsia, although causative factors for the latter have remained elusive. MicroRNA (miRNA) modifications are a potential mechanism through which exposure to an altered environment translates into the development of chronic disease. In this study, we examined whether development of preeclampsia corresponds to alterations of miRNAs in maternal- and cord-blood-derived EPC. To test this end, we analyzed maternal and neonatal miRNAs via RNA sequencing from endothelial cells of preeclamptic and healthy controls in different cell culture passages. We were able to demonstrate differentially represented miRNAs in all groups. Hsa-miR-1270 showed significantly different levels in cord blood EPC from preeclampsia versus control and was negatively correlated with mRNA levels of its predicted targets ANGPTL7 and TFRC. Transfection with an hsa-miR-1270 inhibitor decreased the tube formation capacity and chemotactic motility but did not change proliferation in vitro. Target predictions and gene set enrichment analyses identified alternative splicing as a significantly enriched pathway for hsa-miR-1270. The top miRNAs in three other groups were predicted to target transcriptional and developmental pathways. Here, we showed for the first time significantly different levels of miRNAs and differently represented mRNA levels of predicted target genes in EPC derived from preeclampsia. Understanding the effects of preeclampsia on the epigenetic mechanisms of EPC will be crucial and may provide initial insights for further evaluation of the benefits of therapies targeting this cell population.During mRNA transcription, diverse RNA-binding proteins (RBPs) are recruited to RNA polymerase II (RNAP II) transcription machinery. These RBPs bind to distinct sites of nascent RNA to co-transcriptionally operate mRNA processing. Recent studies have revealed a close relationship between transcription and co-transcriptional RNA processing, where one affects the other's activity, indicating an essential role of protein-RNA interactions for the fine-tuning of mRNA production. Owing to their limited amount in cells, the detection of protein-RNA interactions specifically assembled on the transcribing RNAP II machinery still remains challenging. Currently, cross-linking and immunoprecipitation (CLIP) has become a standard method to detect in vivo protein-RNA interactions, although it requires a large amount of input materials. Several improved methods, such as infrared-CLIP (irCLIP), enhanced CLIP (eCLIP), and target RNA immunoprecipitation (tRIP), have shown remarkable enhancements in the detection efficiency. Furthermore, the utilization of an RNA editing mechanism or proximity labeling strategy has achieved the detection of faint protein-RNA interactions in cells without depending on crosslinking. This review aims to explore various methods being developed to detect endogenous protein-RNA interaction sites and discusses how they may be applied to the analysis of co-transcriptional RNA processing.Stuttering is a speech disorder that can cause disturbances in the timing and flow of speech. In addition to being a communication disorder, stuttering is often accompanied by a reduction in the quality of life and has impacts on social status, mental well-being, self-acceptance, and the chances of integration into the labor market. The Inquiry Based Stress Reduction (IBSR) program, developed in the United States by Byron Katie in 1986, is the clinical application of "The Work" method (Thework.com) and represents an emerging mindfulness and cognitive-reframing method. IBSR has been demonstrated to improve mental health and well-being in adults and may alleviate psychological and psychosocial symptoms of stuttering. The purpose of this trial was to examine the effect of a 12-week IBSR intervention on the overall stuttering experience and indicators of anxiety, psychological flexibility, and well-being among adults who stutter (AWS). This study was a randomized controlled clinical trial. Participants were randomized to IBSR (n = 28) and control (n = 28) groups. Validated questionnaires of overall stuttering experience (OASES-A), anxiety (STAI), psychological flexibility (PFQ), and satisfaction with life (SWLS) were completed before, after, and one month after the intervention. An intention-to-treat approach was implemented for analysis. BisindolylmaleimideI Our results show that participants in the IBSR intervention group exhibited a greater improvement in their overall stuttering experience as compared to the control group, as well as in general information on stuttering awareness and perception, reactions to stuttering, communication in daily situations, and quality of life. In addition, we found a greater reduction in anxiety levels and an increase in satisfaction-with-life scores in the IBSR group. These results indicate that IBSR can improve the overall stuttering experience.
