Hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs) give rise to all blood cells and play a vital role throughout the whole lifespan through their pluripotency and self-renewal properties. Accurately identifying the stages of early HSCs is extremely important, as it may open up new prospects for extracorporeal blood research. Tanespimycin Existing experimental techniques for identifying the early stages of HSCs development are time-consuming and expensive. Machine learning has shown its excellence in massive single-cell data processing and it is desirable to develop related computational models as good complements to experimental techniques.
In this study, we presented a novel predictor called eHSCPr specifically for predicting the early stages of HSCs development. To reveal the distinct genes at each developmental stage of HSCs, we compared F-score with three state-of-art differential gene selection methods (limma, DESeq2, edgeR) and evaluated their performance. F-score captured the more critical surface markers of endothelial cells and hematopoietic cells, and the area under receiver operating characteristic curve (ROC) value was 0.987. Based on SVM, the 10-fold cross-validation accuracy of eHSCpr in the independent dataset and the training dataset reached 94.84% and 94.19%, respectively. Importantly, we performed transcription analysis on the F-score gene set, which indeed further enriched the signal markers of HSCs development stages. eHSCPr can be a powerful tool for predicting early stages of HSCs development, facilitating hypothesis-driven experimental design and providing crucial clues for the in vitro blood regeneration studies.

Botulinum toxin is the most commonly performed minimally invasive aesthetic procedure in men. Despite various recommendations by experts on the use of botulinum toxin type A in the literature, distinct guidelines for its use in males and females do not exist.
To delineate safe and effective doses for the use of Onabotulinumtoxin type A in males for correction of upper facial expression lines.
PubMed (MEDLINE), EMBASE, Cochrane database, and Google Scholar were searched from 2002 to 2019 inclusive. Three researchers independently assessed trials for inclusion, extracted data, checked them for accuracy and assessed the evidence using AGREEII.
Average dosing for the treatment of upper face expression lines was noted specific to glabellar frown lines, crow's feet and horizontal forehead lines since 2002. Changing trends and gender variation in each of the studies was noted. 6 of the 11 recommendations suggest the need to alter dosing in male patients, although do not give separate recommendations.
The results suggest the urgent need for up to date recommendations for the use of Onabotulinumtoxin type A in upper face expression lines of male patients.

Selenium-enriched cultivation can significantly improve the contents of vitamins and functional elements in kiwifruits, especially vitamin C, selenium, and manganese, thus enhancing the activity of antioxidant enzymes in Se-Kiwi. Se-Kiwi can significantly improve the activity of antioxidant enzymes in the liver of hyperlipidaemic mice, restore the liver morphology of mice close to normal, reduce the fat content in the liver, and inhibit the accumulation of abdominal fat cells. Meanwhile, the expression levels of inflammation-related factors (TNF-α and NF-κB) and lipid synthesis related genes (SREBP-1c and FAS) are inhibited at the gene transcription and protein expression levels, and the expression levels of energy expenditure related genes (PPAR-α and CPT1) are increased, resulting in lipid reductions and liver protection. In conclusion, our results indicate that the protective mechanism of Se-Kiwi on high-fat diet mice is associated with enhancing the activity of antioxidant enzymes, reducing the degree of the inflammatory reaction, inhibiting the fat synthesis, and accelerating body energy consumption.Dielectrophoresis (DEP) enables the separation of cells based on subtle subcellular phenotypic differences by controlling the frequency of the applied field. However, current electrode-based geometries extend over a limited depth of the sample channel, thereby reducing the throughput of the manipulated sample (sub-μL min-1 flow rates and 106 cells per mL) using heterogeneous samples of healthy and glutaraldehyde-fixed red blood cells, with single-cell impedance cytometry showing that the DEP collected fractions are intact and exhibit electrical opacity differences consistent with their capacitance-based DEP crossover frequency. This geometry can address the vision of an "all electric" selective cell isolation and cytometry system for quantifying phenotypic heterogeneity of cellular systems.Flexible temperature sensors can be attached to the surface of human skin or curved surfaces directly for continuous and stable data measurements, and have attracted extensive attention in myriad areas. Carbon nanomaterials possess great potential for temperature sensing, and flexible temperature sensors based on carbon nanomaterials have demonstrated unique advantages such as high sensitivity, fast response, good mechanical adaptability, low-cost fabrication processes, high cycling stability and reliability. In this review, the working mechanisms, device structures, material compositions, fabrication technologies, temperature sensing properties, the crucial roles of carbon nanomaterials, specific advantages and existing limitations of different types of flexible temperature sensors based on carbon nanomaterials are comprehensively elaborated and discussed. Based on recent advances, conclusions are made and challenges as well as future perspectives are systematically outlined and discussed.
