The results obtained in this study suggest that ultrasound image grading and texture analysis are valuable and meaningful methods for assessing pulmonary fibrosis in a bleomycin mouse model. The human retinoblastoma (RB1) protein is a tumor suppressor that negatively regulates cell cycle progression through its interaction with members of the E2F/DP family of transcription factors. However, RB-related (RBR) proteins are an early acquisition during eukaryote evolution present in plant lineages, including unicellular algae, ancient plants (ferns, lycophytes, liverworts, mosses), gymnosperms, and angiosperms. The main RBR protein domains and interactions with E2Fs are conserved in all eukaryotes and not only regulate the G1/S transition but also the G2/M transition, as part of DREAM complexes. RBR proteins are also important for asymmetric cell division, stem cell maintenance, and the DNA damage response (DDR). Rapamycin RBR proteins play crucial roles at every developmental phase transition, in association with chromatin factors, as well as during the reproductive phase during female and male gametes production and embryo development. Here, we review the processes where plant RBR proteins play a role and discuss possible avenues of research to obtain a full picture of the multifunctional roles of RBR for plant life.
To evaluate the effects of intra-articular (IA) mepivacaine administration prior to carpal arthroscopy on anesthetic drug requirements, blood pressure support, hemodynamic variables, and quality of recovery in horses.

Experimental, analytical, cohort study.

Twenty-two horses (n = 11 horses/group).

Horses were anesthetized by using the same protocol, but an IA injection of mepivacaine or saline was performed before carpal arthroscopy. End-tidal isoflurane concentration, heart rate, and mean arterial pressure were recorded at specific time points. Quality of recovery was scored by the anesthetist, who was unaware of group assignment. Data were analyzed by using two-way repeated-measures analysis of variance.

Mean arterial pressure was higher during joint distension in the control group compared with baseline (7% higher, P = .02) and with the treatment group (10% higher, P = .04). Heart rate was higher in the control group compared with the treatment group during joint distension (8% higher, P = .04) and chip removal (11% higher, P = .03). Heart rate was higher in the control group compared with baseline during chip removal (5.5% higher, P = .04). Two horses in the control group required additional ketamine vs none in the treatment group. Quality of recovery was not different between groups.

Intra-articular mepivacaine resulted in fewer detectable reactions to surgical stimulation, with similar recovery scores and blood pressure support requirements.

Intra-articular anesthesia prior to arthroscopy can be used safely in the horse and should be considered as a part of balanced anesthetic protocols.

We theoretically and experimentally compare the operation of our ceramic dual-resonator probe with a wire-wound solenoid probe, which is the standard probe used in ultrahigh-field magnetic resonance microscopy. We show that due to the low-loss ceramics used to fabricate the resonators, and a favorable distribution of the electric field within the conducting sample, a dual probe, which contains two samples, achieves an SNR enhancement by a factor close to the square root of 2 compared with a solenoid optimized for one sample.
The objective of mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR) programmes is to promote awareness of the present moment without judging, evaluating or reacting to the different thoughts or emotions that may arise. Development of these abilities appears especially important for healthcare professionals. The objective of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness and medium- and long-term effects of a MBSR programme for primary care (PC) health professionals on their health-related quality of life and quality of work life.

Randomised clinical trial using an intervention and control group with follow-up of the experimental group.

Primary Care centres in the Alicante Public Health Service (Spain).

Participants were PC health professionals (N=58) divided between an intervention group receiving the 8-week MBSR programme and a control group receiving a theoretical training session alone.

Both groups were evaluated at baseline and at 8weeks, and the intervention group was additionally evaluated at 3-, 6-, 9- and 12-month postprogramme.

In comparison to the control group, the intervention group obtained higher scores postintervention for mindfulness, health-related quality of life, mood and compassion satisfaction and a lower score for burnout. Improvements in mindfulness, mood and burnout syndrome persisted at 12months after the programme.

In conclusion, MBSR is an effective intervention to enhance the health-related quality of life and quality of work life of Primary Care Health professionals.

To compare two health literacy measurements' ability to assess older adults' medication adherence by using the Korean Health Literacy Screening Questions (KHLSQ) and the Modified Korean Functional Health Literacy Test (M-KFHLT), and to identify an appropriate health literacy measurement.

Lower health literacy has been associated with poorer medication adherence. Thus, health professionals should evaluate the available health literacy assessment instruments they are using and choose an appropriate instrument to assess health literacy to increase older adults' medication adherence.

Following the Strengthening the Reporting of Observational Studies in Epidemiology (STROBE) checklist, a descriptive, cross-sectional study was conducted.

From November 2017-May 2018, 116 community-dwelling older adults were recruited in South Korea. Questionnaires were completed during a face-to-face interview with each participant in a private room; health literacy was assessed using the KHLSQ and the M-KFHLT and medication adherence using the Morisky Medication Adherence Scale.
