Contoh kasus yang melibatkan Id,Ego, san Super ego
Hoya pada awalnya ingin mengambil kuliah jurusan Arkeologi. Namun orang tuanya tidak menyetujui pilihannya. Dimana menurut mereka lapangan pekerjaan untuk seorang arkeolog masih terhitung minim. Mereka pun menganjurkan padanya untuk mengambil jurusan yang berhubungan dengan ekonomi atau pun manajemen. Disinilah pergolakkan batin Hoya dimulai. Antara menuruti keinginan orang tuanya, atau tetap teguh pada pendiriannya. Namun pada akhirnya ia sadar, bahwa ia tidak boleh mengecewakan orangtuanya. Dan akhirnya ia menyetujui untuk mengambil jurusan kuliah yang dipilihkan oleh orang tuanya. Karena ia tahu, semua ini juga demi kebaikannya.

* Ego : Ketika ia berada di antara dua pilihan antara ingin menuruti orang tuanya atau tetap teguh pada pendirian.
* Super ego : Ketika Hoya berpikir agar tak baik jika mengecewakan kedua orang tuanya.
