FINAL CONSIDERATIONS reflection and training for the development of transformational leadership were fundamental to solidify the decision-making processes involved in the managers' practice.OBJECTIVES Reporting the experience of health education regarding Aedes aegypti in the Federal District. METHODS This is a case report, with descriptive approach, about the experience of nursing practice with education actions against the Aedes aegypti in communities of the Federal District, carried out between 2015 and 2018. Subjects of the research were undergraduate students in nursing, healthcare professionals, and the community. RESULTS There have been 24 educational interventions against Aedes aegypti, adapted to the needs of each population, using a "giant" sculpture of the mosquito, theater performances, lectures, booklets, and home visits. CONCLUSIONS The project trained teachers, healthcare professionals, graduate students in nursing, and the community through the empowerment of this population, aiming at combating the Aedes aegypti vector.OBJECTIVES to discuss challenges and possibilities for the construction of Environmental Health emancipatory care practices by the nurse. METHODS reflective analysis based on conceptual, theoretical, and methodological aspects of nursing care, under the emancipatory and critical perspective. RESULTS contemporary environmental issues involve complex determinants of the health-disease process. This fact requires the accomplishment of educative actions that encourage the change of environmental attitudes related to health-risk situations. In this sense, there are significant demands for emancipatory practices of primary care in Environmental Health by nurses, which need to be systematized by health and education institutions. FINAL CONSIDERATIONS the nurse, as an educator and social actor, should offer emancipatory practices of risk management, empowerment, and shared social and environmental responsibility, with a view to recovering an ecological well-being and social transformation, to improve environmental quality and human life.OBJECTIVES to understand the practice of the nurse in healthcare management of children with chronic condition in the hospital setting. METHODS analytical study of qualitative approach with theoretical and methodological reference of institutional ethnography. Developed in the pediatric unit of a university hospital, in a municipality in Northeastern Brazil. Data collections techniques were participant observation, documentary analysis and semi-structured interview. Participants of the study totaled twenty professionals, including nurses, social workers, psychologists, pharmacists, nutritionists, physiotherapists, and doctors. For data analysis, it was used the Bardin's Content Analysis with interface of the Atlas.ti software. RESULTS categories of analysis were "Nurse as mediator of healthcare management"; "Nursing process as a mechanism of healthcare management". FINAL considerations the nurse proved to be essential for healthcare management of the child with chronic condition, acting as mediator of the relationship between the doctor, the members of the health team, the user and their family.OBJECTIVES to report the user experience of the webQDA software in the support of qualitative data analysis about health literacy of older adults. METHODS quasi-experimental research developed from January 2014 to January 2015, with 118 older adults, all of whom were interviewed to assess the level of health literacy. Interviews were carried out before and after four educational interventions, according to Freire's method named Culture Circle. The interviews were transcribed and entered in the software, which highlighted the analytical categories. RESULTS the systems of sources, interpretative encoding and questioning of the data available in the software allowed the construction of three categories for the literacy levels and four categories for their dimensions. FINAL CONSIDERATIONS We concluded that the webQDA software enables the structured encoding of qualitative materials, ensuring faster and effective management of data with systematization and analytical transparency.OBJECTIVES identify the social representations of transsexual women living with HIV/AIDS. METHODS this is a qualitative descriptive exploratory study, based on the theory of social representations, conducted with six HIV/AIDS seropositive transsexual women from a hospital for patients with HIV/AIDS. For data collection, semi-structured interviews were conducted and later transcribed and analyzed with the help of Iramuteq (version 0.7) to produce a dendrogram of the descending hierarchical classification. RESULTS data were grouped into three classes social thought and health/disease process; subjectivity and identity coping; and social determination and the context of vulnerability. FINAL CONSIDERATIONS the elements of social representations were identified, based on commonsense knowledge, resulting from the way of thinking and acting and associated with the syndrome and social actors and sectors of the daily life of transsexual women. This study highlights the relevance of representational processes for humanized health care.OBJECTIVES to evaluate the evolution of clinical indicators that characterize airway permeability in patients in the postoperative period of thoracoabdominal surgeries and to analyze their relationship with the occurrence of the diagnosis "ineffective airway clearance". METHODS descriptive, quantitative, longitudinal research with 60 patients who were followed for five consecutive days. Eleven indicators of the nursing outcome "respiratory status airway permeability" were used. RESULTS on the first day of evaluation, the most compromised indicators were respiratory rate, cough, depth of breath and use of accessory muscles. During follow-up, most of the indicators presented a slight deviation from normal variation and, in the last evaluation, there was a predominance of indicators with some degree of impairment. CONCLUSIONS with the aid of the Nursing Outcomes Classification, it was observed that patients submitted to thoracoabdominal surgeries may present compromised airway permeability even days after surgery.
