Several researches reported that natural polyphenols affected acrylamide formation of fried products. However, the effects of different variety of polyphenols on acrylamide formation were distinct. In this study, we isolated and purified phlorizin from apples and identified the influence of phlorizin immersion on acrylamide formation and sensory properties of fried potato strips with regard to the immersion concentration, time and temperature.

Nineteen azaphilone-type compounds were isolated and characterized by NMR spectroscopy and mass spectrometry, and their absolute stereoconfigurations were assigned by using Mosher ester analysis and electronic circular dichroism spectroscopy. However, it is unclear whether the availability of specific nutrients or the difficulty of locating high-quality diets limits brain evolution, especially over long periods of time. We found that dietary nutrient content predicted brain size across 42 species of butterflies. Brain size, relative to body size, was associated with the sodium and nitrogen content of a species' diet. There was no evidence that host plant apparency (measured by plant height) was related to brain evolution. The timing of diet shifts across species varied from 3.5 to 90 million years ago, but nutritional constraints did not lessen over time as species adapted to a diet. Although nutrition was linked to overall brain volume, there was no evidence that nutrition was related to the relative size of individual brain regions. Laboratory rearing experiments confirmed the underlying assumption of most comparative studies that the majority of interspecific trait variation stems from genetically based differences across species rather than developmental plasticity. This study highlights a novel role of sodium and nitrogen in brain evolution, which is additionally interesting given current anthropogenic change in the availability of these nutrients.
Determining plant tolerance to water stress is necessary in irrigation scheduling, decisions concerning supplementary irrigation, planning and operation and, more importantly, the rational use of water resources. In the present study, effects of the irrigation regime on oregano growth, water use, yield and quality parameters were investigated using reduced irrigation regime treatments.

Increased water stresses caused a decrease in all growth and yield parameters. Plant water use efficiency was not significantly different among the control, low and medium stress treatments, although it was the lowest for the extreme water stress treatment. Total essential oil yield was the only quality parameter demonstrating significant differences among treatments. Yield response factors were determined as 1.13, 1.12, 1.06 and 1.10 for total fresh, total dry, dry leaf and total essential oil yields, respectively.

It is ill-defined which factors affect the prognosis of patients with recanalized chronic total occlusion (CTO). This study sought to investigate predictors for adverse outcome in such a cohort with long-time follow-up.

From 2010 to 2013, patients with successfully recanalized CTO were included. The primary endpoint was a composite of all-cause death, myocardial infarction or target vessel revascularization (TVR). The secondary endpoints were TVR and target lesion revascularization (TLR).

A total of 1987 patients were enrolled and 1806 (90.6%) subjects completed 5-year follow-up. Multivariate Cox analysis revealed that age≥75years (HR,1.70; 95% CI, 1.09-2.64; P=.02), left ventricular ejection fraction <40% (HR, 1.94; 95% CI, 1.02-3.69; P=.04) and residual SYNTAX score (HR, 1.02; 95% CI, 1.01-1.04; P=.01) were predictors for the primary endpoint. Non-LAD CTO (HR, 1.82; 95% CI, 1.23-2.70; P<.01), J-CTO score (HR, 1.31; 95% CI, 1.11-1.54; P<.01) and residual SYNTAX score (HR, 1.02; 95% CI, 1.00-1.
