Tricky internet-related behaviors mediate the particular associations in between numbers of internet proposal and also distress amid schoolchildren during COVID-19 lockdown: Any longitudinal architectural formula modeling research.
Under poikilocapnic conditions neither facial cooling nor CPT evoked a change in middle cerebral artery blood flow velocity (MCA Vmean ; transcranial Doppler) (P > 0.05 vs. selleckchem baseline). Under isocapnic conditions, facial cooling did not change MCA Vmean (P > 0.05), whereas CPT increased MCA Vmean by 13% (P 0.05). Finally, MCA Vmean and ICAQ were similarly increased by BH either with or without facial cooling. These findings suggest that physiological factors associated with BH, and not facial cooling (i.e., trigeminal nerve stimulation) per se, make the predominant contribution to increases in CBF during diving in humans. Herein we report the synthesis, structures, and photoluminescent properties of two Zn(II) complexes containing novel donor-acceptor ligands. The new Zn(II) complexes are characterized to feature a dinuclear structure with each metal ion adopting a distorted square pyramidal geometry. The Zn(II) complexes show strong emission in solid state with quantum yields up to 50%. Variable temperature transient photoluminescence studies reveal the emission mechanism via prompt and thermally-activated delayed fluorescence (TADF). DFT calculations show well separated HOMO and LUMO orbitals in the ground state and small excited singlet-triplet energy splitting (ΔEST) values, accounting for the TADF. The complexes also exhibit different emission color in as-synthesized powder state and in single crystals, revealing luminescence polymorphism. The single crystal emission is responsive to mechanical grinding and has been characterized by powder X-ray diffraction studies. © 2020 WILEY-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim.Potassium ion batteries (KIBs) have emerged as a promising energy storage system, but the stability and high rate capability of their electrode materials, particularly carbon as the most investigated anode ones, become a primary challenge. Here, it is identified that pitch-derived soft carbon, a nongraphitic carbonaceous species which is paid less attention in the battery field, holds special advantage in KIB anodes. The structural flexibility of soft carbon makes it convenient to tune its crystallization degree, thereby modulating the storage behavior of large-sized K+ in the turbostratic carbon lattices to satisfy the need in structural resilience, low-voltage feature, and high transportation kinetics. It is confirmed that a simple thermal control can produce structurally optimized soft carbon that has much better battery performance than its widely reported carbon counterparts such as graphite and hard carbon. The findings highlight the potential of soft carbon as an interesting category suitable for high-performance KIB electrode and provide insights for understanding the complicated K+ storage mechanisms in KIBs. © 2020 WILEY-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. Dietary supplementation of pregnant women with (n-3) long-chain polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA) was shown to exert beneficial effects on offspring, through yet unknown mechanisms. Here, we conducted a dietary intervention study on a cohort of 10 women diagnosed with threatened preterm labor with a nutritional integration with eicosapentaenoic and docosahexaenoic acids. Microvesicles (MV) isolated form arterial cord blood of the treated cohort offspring and also of a randomized selection of 10 untreated preterm and 12 term newborns, were characterized by dynamic light scattering and analyzed by proteomic and statistical analysis. Glutathione synthetase was the protein bearing the highest discrimination ability between cohorts. ELISA assay showed that glutathione synthetase was more abundant in cord blood from untreated preterm compared to the other conditions. Assay of free SH-groups showed that serum of preterm subjects was oxidized. Data suggest that preterm suffer from oxidative stress, which was lower in the treated cohort. This study confirms that MV are a representative sample of the individual status and the efficacy of dietary intervention with PUFA in human pregnancy in terms of lowered inflammatory status, increased gestational age and weight at birth. © 2020 Federation of American Societies for Experimental Biology. In situ toxification of less toxic substance for the generation of effective anticarcinogens at the specific tumor tissue has been a novel paradigm for combating cancer. Significant efforts have been recently dedicated to turning clinical-approved drugs into anticancer agents in specific tumor microenvironment by chemical reactions. Herein, a hollow mesoporous Prussian blue (HMPB)-based therapeutic nanoplatform, denoted as DSF@PVP/Cu-HMPB, is constructed by encapsulating alcohol-abuse drug disulfiram (DSF) into the copper-enriched and polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP)-decorated HMPB nanoparticles to achieve in situ chemical reaction-activated and hyperthermia-amplified chemotherapy of DSF. Upon tumor accumulation of DSF@PVP/Cu-HMPB, the endogenous mild acidity in tumor condition triggers the biodegradation of the HMPB nanoparticle and the concurrent co-releases of DSF and Cu2+ , thus forming cytotoxic bis(N,N-diethyl dithiocarbamato)copper(II) complexes (CuL2 ) via DSF-Cu2+ chelating reaction. Moreover, by the intrinsic photothermal-conversion effect of PVP/Cu-HMPBs, the anticancer effect of DSF is augmented by the hyperthermia generated upon near-infrared irradiation, thus inducing remarkable cell apoptosis in vitro and tumor elimination in vivo on both subcutaneous and orthotopic tumor-bearing models. This strategy of in situ drug transition by chemical chelation reaction and photothermal-augmentation provides a promising paradigm for designing novel cancer-therapeutic nanoplatforms. © 2020 WILEY-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. MATERIALS AND METHODS To verify the successful preparation of TDNs, the morphology of TDNs was observed by atomic force microscopy (AFM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The expression of apoptosis-related genes and proteins was investigated by confocal microscope, flow cytometry, PCR and Western blot to detect the impact of TDNs on the Alzheimer's model. And finally, Morris water maze experiment was used to test behavioural changes and Nissl stain was detected to observe the morphology and quantity of neurons in the hippocampus. Immunofluorescence stain was used to observe the Aβ stain, and TUNEL dyeing was utilized to observe neuronal apoptosis. RESULTS In vitro and in vivo experiments confirm that TDNs, in a specific concentration range, have no toxic or side effects on nerve cells, can effectively inhibit apoptosis in an Alzheimer's disease cell model and effectively improve memory and learning ability in a rat model of Alzheimer's disease.
