To investigate the presence of nitenpyram in kiwifruit, a field experiment was conducted in six kiwifruit producing regions in China. A modified quick, easy, cheap, effective, rugged and safe method (QuEChERS) method based on liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) was developed for the determination of nitenpyram in kiwifruit. Quantitative detection was performed by LC-MS/MS in multiple reaction monitoring (MRM) mode under positive-ion electrospray ionisation. The proposed method is linear and accurate in the range of 0.005 to 4.5 μg/mL. The recovery of nitenpyram was satisfactory (71.96-96.67%) with reasonable RSDs (9.83 %) for 0.01-4.5 mg/kg spiked levels. The limit of quantification (LOQ) was 0.01 mg/kg for nitenpyram. Nitenpyram degraded rapidly in kiwifruit with a half-life less then 4 days. Residues of nitenpyram were less then 0.01 - 0.54 mg/kg in kiwifruit 7, 14 and 21 days after spraying at six sites.The RNA-binding protein LARP1 has generated interest in recent years for its role in the mTOR signalling cascade and its regulation of terminal oligopyrimidine (TOP) mRNA translation. Here, we present opinions from four leading scientists in the field to discuss these and other contradictory findings.Aim The aim of the present study was to evaluate the effects of different doses of onabotulinum toxin A on the amplitude and latency values of the blink reflex and facial nerve in the pretarsal and preseptal portions of the orbicularis oculi muscle in patients with hemifacial spasm.Materials and methods Thirty patients with hemifacial spasm were assigned in two equal groups Pretarsal Group Five units of onabotulinum toxin A were injected into each of 2 points of the pretarsal portion; Preseptal Group Five units of onabotulinum toxin A was injected into 4 points of the preseptal portion. We compared the electromyographic features of the patients before and 5 weeks after botulinum toxin (BTX) injection.Results In comparison of pre- and post-treatment measurements of blink reflex amplitude responses, the decreases in R1 (p = 0.003), R2 (p  less then  0.001), and R2C amplitudes (p = 0.031) were found to be significant in the BTX injected side in the pretarsal group. In the comparison of pre- and post-treatment measurements of facial nerve compound action potential amplitude changes, decreases in the amplitudes of the BTX injected (ipsilateral), and uninjected (contralateral) side in the pretarsal group were found to be significant (p  less then  0.001 for both groups). Decreases in the amplitudes of the BTX injected, and uninjected side in the preseptal group were found to be significant (p  less then  0.001, and p = 0.008, respectively).Conclusion According to our hypothesis, the smaller amount of BTX applied to the pretarsal portion was found to be more effective than higher amount of BTX injected into the preseptal portion of the orbicularis oculi muscle.Numerous researches show that MicroRNAs (miRNAs) participate in tumorigenesis, progression, recurrence and drug resistance of malignant tumors, including laryngocarcinoma. miR-552 works as an oncogene in both colorectal cancer and liver cancer. However, the potential role of miR-552 in laryngocarcinoma is unknown. Herein, we for first found that miR-552 expression was upregulated in laryngocarcinoma tissues compared with their normal controls. Moreover, miR-552 expression was also increasing in the laryngocarcinoma cells. miR-552 interference inhibited the proliferation and metastasis of laryngocarcinoma cells in vitro and in vivo. Mechanically, bioinformatics and luciferase reporter analysis identified p53 as a direct target of miR-552. miR-552 knockdown upregulated the p53 mRNA and protein expression in laryngocarcinoma cells. miR-552 expression was negatively associated with p53 expression in laryngocarcinoma tissues. More importantly, the p53 siRNA or p53 overexpression virus abrogated the discrepancy of growth and metastasis capacity between miR-552 interference laryngocarcinoma cells and control cells.It is widely believed that the quality and characteristics of Chinese Strong-Flavour Liquor (CSFL) are closely related with the age of the pit mud, and CSFL produced from older pit mud tastes better. This study aims to investigate alteration and interaction of prokaryotic communities across an age gradient in pit mud. Prokaryotic microbes in different aged pit mud (1-, 6- and 10-year) were analyzed using Illumina MiSeq sequencing of 16S rRNA gene. Analysis of 16S rRNA gene indicated that prokaryotic community was significantly altered with ages. Genera Methanosarcina, Methanobacterium and Aminobacterium, increased significantly with ages, while genus Lactobacillus showed a significant decreasing trend with increased ages. These genera formed 10 hubs of co-occurrence patterns, mainly under phylum Firmicutes, Euryarchaeota and Bacteroidetes, playing important roles on ecosystem stability of the pit mud. Environmental variables (pH, NH4+, available P, available K, and Ca2+) correlated significantly with prokaryotic community assembly. The interaction of prokaryotic communities in pit mud ecosystem, and the relationship among prokaryotic communities and environmental factors contribute to higher quality of pit mud in older fermentation pits.The clinical phenotyping of severe asthma could improve treatment outcomes, quality of life, morbidity, and mortality of asthma patients. Results- A protected code stroke algorithm was developed.
