Organic acids have exhibited great potential as an antibiotic replacement and as an additive work tremendously for health maintenance of broiler chicken. To explore more about organic acids, a total of 900 day-old broiler chicks (Cobb-500) were procured from a local hatchery and distributed into 9 treatment groups having 5 replicates of 20 birds each; duration of the biological trial was of 35 days. Group T1 served as control group without any dietary supplementation. Other groups T2 and T3 were boosted with different levels (125 g/ton and 250 g/ton) of enramycin (antibiotic), T4, T5, and T6 were supplemented with different levels (2 kg/ton, 3 kg/ton, and 4 kg/ton) of ammonium formate and ammonium propionate, and T7, T8, and T9 were fed with different levels (2 kg/ton, 3 kg/ton, and 4 kg/ton) of calcium formate and calcium propionate. The findings declared significant improvement (P  0.05) among different organic acids treatments. Hence, organic acids can be utilized as a better replacement for antibiotics. Supplementation of organic acids at a dose rate of 3 kg/ton and 4 kg/ton is recommended for efficient performance of broilers.
To clarify the electrophysiological mechanism of supra-ventricular tachycardias (SVT) with concealed nodo-ventricular (NV) fibers.

We studied the intra-cardiac electrograms during electrophysiological study (EPS) of three cases of SVT which concerned concealed NV fibers. Electrophysiological maneuvers including right ventricular apex entrainments, RS2 stimuli, adenosine triphosphate injection and so on were done for differential diagnosis before ablation.

Among these patients, one had atrio-ventricular nodal reentrant tachycardia (AVNRT) with a bystander NV fiber; the other 2 had NV fiber mediated orthodromic reentrant tachycardias (NVRT). VA dissociation was observed during SVT in all 3 cases with an antegrade His bundle conduction sequence. Ventricular stimulation at His refractory period reset the H-H intervals and the V-V intervals sequentially, suggesting the existence of a retrogradely conductive accessory pathway. Adenosine injection could terminate these tachycardias. The cycle length of an NVRT prolonged during the status of functional right bundle branch block, suggesting that the fiber located on the right side. Multiple QRS fusion morphologies during ventricular entrainments or ventricular stimulation at His refractory period at a fixed position could be observed in these cases.

Antral pulmonary vein isolation (PVI) using a radiofrequency hot balloon catheter (RHB) is a feasible therapeutic option for treating atrial fibrillation (AF). Lesion durability after antral RHB-PVI remains unknown. This study aimed to evaluate lesion durability and the associations between procedural characteristics after antral RHB-PVI.

A total of 200 patients received antral RHB-PVI using the single-shot technique between April 2016 and March 2018. Antral RHB-PVI was performed following a pre-specified protocol and RHB energy application was performed for a maximum of two times for each PV. Consecutive patients who underwent repeated procedures for recurrence of any type of atrial tachyarrhythmia were enrolled.

Twenty-six (13%) patients underwent repeated ablation and 20 patient documented AF recurrence (AF group) and 6 patients documented non-AF recurrence (non-AF group). Repeated ablation was performed at a median (25th, 75th percentiles) of 378days (217, 487) after the initial procedure and durable PVI was observed in 86 (83.5%) PVs. Durability reached 89.7% when PVI was achieved only using an RHB. In the AF group (79 PVs), durable PVI was observed in 62 (78.5%) PVs, whereas all 24 PVs were still isolated in the non-AF group. The majority of reconnection sites were around the superior PVs.
