The current review focuses on these anti-cancer mechanisms. This will be beneficial for clinical utilization of tea components in preventing and treating cancer in the future. The nitrogenous nucleophile electrooxidation reaction (NOR) plays a vital role in the degradation and transformation of available nitrogen. Focusing on the NOR mediated by the β-Ni(OH)2 electrode, we decipher the transformation mechanism of the nitrogenous nucleophile. For the two-step NOR, proton-coupled electron transfer (PCET) is the bridge between electrocatalytic dehydrogenation from β-Ni(OH)2 to β-Ni(OH)O, and the spontaneous nucleophile dehydrogenative oxidation reaction. This theory can give a good explanation for hydrazine and primary amine oxidation reactions, but is insufficient for the urea oxidation reaction (UOR). Through operando tracing of bond rupture and formation processes during the UOR, as well as theoretical calculations, we propose a possible UOR mechanism whereby intramolecular coupling of the N-N bond, accompanied by PCET, hydration and rearrangement processes, results in high performance and ca. 100 % N2 selectivity. These discoveries clarify the evolution of nitrogenous molecules during the NOR, and they elucidate fundamental aspects of electrocatalysis involving nitrogen-containing species.
The application of video-based learning in dentistry has been widely investigated; however, the nature of on-screen video enhancements of the video has been minimally explored in the literature. This study investigated the effectiveness of an in-class and on-demand enhanced video to support learning on removable partial dentures in terms of knowledge acquisition, perception and clinical skill performance.

Fifty-four dental students enrolled in 2018 were recruited as participants and assigned to two groups. Both groups were given the same lecture and asked to watch the same video in either the enhanced or non-enhanced version. The enhanced video was modified with the contemporaneous subtitle of the presenters' dialogue, text bullet points and summary text pages. The knowledge acquisition from the two types of video was subjected to pre- and post-tests one month after the students watched the video. A questionnaire was used to evaluate the students' perceptions of the learning experience and a performance test on practical skills was performed after six weeks. All the students responded to the test (100%).

The enhanced video demonstration improved the students' short-term knowledge acquisition after they watched the video, with an average score of 1.59 points higher in the enhanced group than in the non-enhanced group (p<.05). The practical performance did not differ between the two groups. The students were more likely accepted the enhanced video as a replacement of the existing teaching method rather than a teaching supplement (70.3%).

The application of the enhanced video demonstration resulted in a better theoretical knowledge retention but not practical performance. Students also preferred watching video to using conventional learning methods.

Adalimumab is the only licensed biologic for moderate-to-severe HS. Ultrasound demonstrated good sensitivity to provide anatomic and functional information in HS; in particular assessing vascularization, related to inflammation, and fibrosis in HS lesions before and after adalimumab treatment with ultrasound and Color Doppler may integrate clinical evaluation with imaging. Patients with moderate-to-severe HS were enrolled in this observational prospective study. Clinical evaluation (according to Hurley classification and International Hidradenitis Suppurativa Severity Score System score) and ultrasound (according to US HS-PGA)/Color Doppler were performed at baseline and after 12 weeks of adalimumab. Belinostat order Ultrasound was used for assessing fibrosis and Color Doppler for vascularization. For each patient, the three most severe lesions among abscesses and fistulae were chosen for total 96 lesions. Thirty-two patients were included, 18 men (56%) and 14 women (44%) with mean age 41.2. Mean IHS4 was 22.4 at baseline and dropped to 14.7 at week 12. Based on US HS-PGA, 14 out of 32 patients fell down by one or more classes of severity. Interestingly, adalimumab led to overall decrease in vascularization, particularly in lesions with intense vascular flow, which were 78 (81.3%) at baseline and became only 25 (26.04%). Finally, marked increase in fibrosis was seen after adalimumab, notably in lesions without fibrosis, which were 81 (84.4%) at baseline and became 15 (15.6%). This study confirms the efficacy of adalimumab in HS and provides value for vascularization and fibrosis as important ultrasonographic tools integrating clinical scores.Hypobaric hypoxic stress leads to oxidative stress, inflammation, and disturbance in protein turnover rate. Aggregately, this imbalance in redox homeostasis is responsible for skeletal muscle protein loss and a decline in physical performance. Hence, an urgent medical need is required to ameliorate skeletal muscle protein loss. The present study investigated the efficacy of ursolic acid (UA), a pentacyclic triterpene acid to ameliorate hypobaric hypoxia (HH)-induced muscle protein loss. UA is a naturally occurring pentacyclic triterpene acid present in several edible herbs and fruits such as apples. It contains skeletal muscle hypertrophy activity; still its potential against HH-induced muscle protein loss is unexplored. To address this issue, an in vivo study was planned to examine the beneficial effect of UA supplementation on HH-induced skeletal muscle loss. Male Sprague Dawley rats were exposed to HH with and without UA supplementation (20 mg/kg; oral) for 3 continuous days. The results described the beneficial role of UA as supplementation of UA with HH exposure attenuated reactive oxygen species production and oxidative protein damage, which indicate the potent antioxidant activity. Furthermore, UA supplementation enhanced Akt, pAkt, and p70S6kinase activity (Akt pathway) and lowered the pro-inflammatory cytokines in HH exposed rats. UA has potent antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activity, and it enhanced the protein content via upregulation of Akt pathway-related proteins against HH exposure. These three biological activities of UA make it a novel candidate for amelioration of HH-induced skeletal muscle damage and protein loss.
