PET/MRI phantom studies are challenged by the need of phantom-specific attenuation templates to account for attenuation properties of the phantom material. We present a PET/MRI phantom built from MRI-visible material for which attenuation correction (AC) can be performed using the standard MRI-based AC.

A water-fillable phantom was 3D-printed with a commercially available MRI-visible polymer. The phantom had a cylindrical shape and the fillable compartment consisted of a homogeneous region and a region containing solid rods of different diameters. The phantom was filled with a solution of water and [18F]FDG. A 30 min PET/MRI acquisition including the standard Dixon-based MR-AC method was performed. In addition, a CT scan of the phantom was acquired on a PET/CT system. From the Dixon in-phase, opposed-phase and fat images, a phantom-specific AC map (Phantom MR-AC) was produced by separating the phantom material from the water compartment using a thresholding-based method and assigning fixed attenuation coe-45.5%, respectively.

In daily clinical practice, however, it is not only important that doctors receive a tool with which they can correctly judge-the speed of these judgments is also a crucial factor. In this study, we analyzed accuracy and efficiency in medical Bayesian inferences. In an empirical study we varied information format (probabilities vs. natural frequencies) and visualization (text only vs. tree only) for four contexts. 111 medical students participated in this study by working on four Bayesian tasks with common medical problems. The correctness of their answers was coded and the time spent on task was recorded. The median time for a correct Bayesian inference is fastest in the version with a frequency tree (255 min) compared to the version with a probability tree (547 min) or to the text only versions based on natural frequencies (413 min) or probabilities (959 min).The score diagnostic efficiency (calculated by median time divided by percentage of correct inferences) is best in the version with a frequency tree (453 min). Frequency trees allow more accurate and faster judgments. The objective was to evaluate the impact of the supply of cottonseed and crude glycerin as modulators of the lipid profile of the beef produced on pasture. The concentrated supplement was formulated with two levels of cottonseed (0 and 25%) and/or two levels of crude glycerin (0 and 15%), totaling four experimental groups. Two experiments were conducted; the first experiment was outlined in a 5 × 5 Latin square design, contrasting the protein-energy supplementation with the mineral supplementation. The concentrate supplementation allowed the increase in intake and digestibility of the dry matter (P = 0.03), ether extract, crude protein, and non-fibrous carbohydrate (P less then 0.01). However, the results showed no effect of crude glycerin or cottonseed inclusion on intake or nutrients digestibility. The second experiment evaluated the protein-energy supplementation and its impact on the lipid profile of meat produced, carcass characteristics, and animal performance. GZWN4 with the aerobic nitrogen removal ability was isolated from aquaculture water, whose removal efficiency of NO2--N, NO3--N and NH4+-N was 99.72%, 82.54% and 98.62%, respectively. The key genes involved in nitrogen removal, nxr, napA, narI, nirS, norB and nosZ, were successfully amplified and by combination with the results of nitrogen balance analysis, it was inferred that the denitrification pathway of strain GZWN4 was NO3--N → NO2--N → NO → N2O → N2. The strain GZWN4 had excellent nitrite removal performance at pH 7.0-8.5, temperature 25-30 ℃, C/N ratio 5-20, salinity 8-32‰ and dissolved oxygen concentration 2.52-5.73 mg L-1. The receivable linear correlation (R2 = 0.9809) was obtained with the range of quantification between l03 and 108 CFU mL-1 of the strain by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. Strain GZWN4 could maintain high abundance in the actual water and wastewater of mariculture and the removal efficiency of TN were 52.57% and 63.64%, respectively. The safety evaluation experiment showed that the strain GZWN4 had no hemolysis and high biosecurity toward shrimp Litopenaeus vannamei.
