In low-middle income countries (LMICs) and the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, there is an unmet need to establish and improve breast cancer (BC) awareness, early diagnosis and risk reduction programs. During the 12th Breast, Gynecological & Immuno-oncology International Cancer Conference - Egypt 2020, 26 experts from 7 countries worldwide voted to establish the first consensus for BC awareness, early detection and risk reduction in LMICs/MENA region. The panel advised that there is an extreme necessity for a well-developed BC data registries and prospective clinical studies that address alternative modalities/modified BC screening programs in areas of limited resources. The most important recommendations of the panel were (a) BC awareness campaigns should be promoted to public and all adult age groups; (b) early detection programs should combine geographically distributed mammographic facilities with clinical breast examination (CBE); (c) breast awareness should be encouraged; and (d) intensive surveillance and chemoprevention strategies should be fostered for high-risk women. The panel defined some areas for future clinical research, which included the role of CBE and breast self-examination as an alternative to radiological screening in areas of limited resources, the interval and methodology of BC surveillance in women with increased risk of BC and the use of low dose tamoxifen in BC risk reduction. In LMICs/MENA region, BC awareness and early detection campaigns should take into consideration the specific disease criteria and the socioeconomic status of the target population. The statements with no consensus reached should serve as potential catalyst for future clinical research.
Levofloxacin and ciprofloxacin are more commonly used amongst fluoroquinolone class and the question of cardiac safety and glucose hemostasis of this class has been raised.
To compare intravenous levofloxacin and ciprofloxacin regarding their risk on QTc prolongation and dysglycemia in diabetic and non-diabetic patients.
A randomised prospective study at Beni-Suef university hospital was conducted on 200 adult patients over 6months. The patients received intravenous levofloxacin 750mg once daily or ciprofloxacin 400mg twice daily. Electrocardiogram and fasting blood glucose were obtained from each patient before starting the antibiotic, 24hours, 72hours after the first dose, and 72hours after antibiotics cessation.
The results of the current study showed the relative risk for QTc prolongation with levofloxacin was more than ciprofloxacin by about 4 and 1.5 times in diabetic and non-diabetic patients, respectively. The relative risk for dysglycemia with levofloxacin was 2.28 and 1.39 times more than ciprofloxacin in diabetic and non-diabetic patients, respectively.
The present study showed that the risk for QTc prolongation and hyperglycemia was greater with levofloxacin than ciprofloxacin in diabetic and non-diabetic patients. In addition, the risk for hypoglycemia was greater with levofloxacin than ciprofloxacin in non-diabetic patients.

Microvascular invasion (MVI) is a critical prognostic factor of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). However, it could only be obtained by postoperative histological examination.
To develop an end-to-end deep-learning models based on MRI images for preoperative prediction of MVI in HCC patients who underwent surgical resection.
Retrospective.
Two hundred and thirty-seven patients with histologically confirmed HCC.

The patients were randomly divided into training (N=158) and validation (N=79) sets. Data augmentation by random rotation was performed on the training set and the sample size increased to 1940 for each MR sequence. A three-dimensional convolutional neural network (3D CNN) was used to develop four deep-learning models, including thFFICACY Stage 2.Cold atmospheric pressure plasmas (CAPPs) have been widely used for pre-sowing treatment in agriculture to accelerate seed germination; however, information on their application to pre-transplant seedlings is scarce. The roles of the phytohormone abscisic acid (ABA) on guard cell aperture that control air exchange with the environment were investigated after CAPPs treatment. In this study, Arabidopsis thaliana seedling growth was evaluated under CAPPs treatment at different doses. Besides, the optimal growth stimulation dose was selected to further evaluate changes in ABA, ROS, Ca2+ and stomatal aperture during growth .The expression of most ABA signalling genes were aslo examined to investigate the mechanism. CAPPs treatment for 1 min significantly promoted Arabidopsis seedling growth; the ABA concentration in seedlings increased and peaked 48 h after treatment but was lower than in the control after 96 h. Transcript levels of most ABA signalling genes were markedly enhanced at 48 h, although their transcripts were significantly downregulated after 96 h. CAPPs treatment also reduced stomatal aperture after 24 h and accelerated ROS accumulation in guard cells. The Ca2+ concentration in the treatment group was markedly higher than in the control at 24 and 96 h. The results suggest that CAPPs treatment accelerates ABA accumulation in Arabidopsis at early growth stages and ABA regulates ROS and Ca2+ concentrations to affect stomatal aperture, and both ABA and stoma size are affected in CAPPs stimulation of Arabidopsis seedling growth.
Hidradenitis suppurativa (HS) is a chronic inflammatory disease affecting apocrine gland-bearing skin in the axilla, groin and under the breasts. Mutations of the gamma secretase gene complex, which is essential in the activation of Notch signalling pathways, were shown in some families with HS and in a few sporadic cases. Although an imbalance in Notch signalling is implicated in the pathogenesis, the exact mechanism of HS development is yet unknown.
We aim to investigate the genetic basis of HS by determining the presence of mutations of gamma secretase gene complex in a cohort of HS patients and by searching for a disease-causing pathogenic variant in a multi-generational HS family using parametric linkage analysis.
Thirty-eight patients clinically diagnosed with HS were included in this study. All exons and exon-intron boundaries of the genes encoding gamma secretase complex consisting of six genes APH1A, APH1B, PSENEN, NCSTN, PSEN1 and PSEN2 were sequenced by Sanger technique. Genetic mapping with parametric linkage analysis for the patients in the family was performed with eight affected and four healthy individuals.
