197, 95% CI, 0.084-0.311, P less then .01), FPG level (β = 0.302, 95% CI, 0.162-0.442, P less then .01) and HbA1c level (β = 0.296, 95% CI, 0.165-0.426, P less then .01) and negatively correlated with HDL level (β = -0.153, 95% CI, -0.259 to -0.046, P less then .01). Furthermore, sST2 level was a risk factor for increased CIMT in patients with T2DM.Increased sST2 level not only was associated with indicators of glucose and lipid metabolism but also was a risk factor for increased CIMT in patients with T2DM. Thus, sST2 may be a potential novel marker to assess the progression of diabetic macrovascular complications.RATIONALE Diagnosing and treating refractory cancer pain have become standardized and effective procedures with guidance from the Expert Consensus on Refractory Cancer Pain released in 2017 by the Committee of Rehabilitation and Palliative Care of China. Doxorubicin has been used for perineural injection in the treatment of chronic non-cancer pain owing to its retrograde sensory ganglion resection effect. Ciclosporin Our study reports a new fourth-ladder treatment for cancer pain CT-guided paravertebral doxorubicin injection for patients with refractory cancer pain caused by paraspinal metastasis. PATIENT CONCERNS A 48-year-old female and a 47-year-old male patients suffered from refractory cancer pain over the past months. They had both undergone surgical tumor resection, chemotherapy, and precision radiotherapy but result in limited analgesic effect. The daily oral morphine dosage was around 60 to 100 mg and rescue analgesic methods had been used at the time. DIAGNOSES Refractory cancer pain in 2 patients with renal caand safe way. This study is to investigate the relationship of P-selectin (Ps) gene rs1800807 and rs1800808 polymorphisms with plasma soluble P-selectin (sPs) in Han, Uygur, and Kazakh people with atrial fibrillation (AF) and thromboembolism (TE) in Xinjiang, China.A total of 778 Han patients (including 131 patients with AF and TE, 229 patients with AF and 418 healthy individuals), 660 Uygur patients (including 118 patients with AF and TE, 232 patients with AF and 310 healthy individuals), and 505 Kazakh patients (including 42 patients with AF and TE, 156 patients with AF and 307 healthy individuals) were enrolled in this study. Polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism and direct DNA sequence analysis were used to analyze the polymorphisms of rs1800807 and rs1800808 of Ps gene. ELISA was used to determine the plasma sPs level. The association between plasma sPs levels and Ps gene polymorphisms was further analyzed. The sPs concentrations of GG genotype at rs1800807 locus in the Han, Uygur and Kazakh ethnic groups in Xinjiang, China were significantly higher than those of the CC genotype and CG genotype (P less then .05). In the rs1800808 locus, plasma sPs concentrations of the heterozygous mutant CT genotypes in Han and Uygur populations were significantly higher than those in the CC and TT genotypes, whereas the plasma sPs concentrations in Kazakh TT genotypes were significantly higher than those in the CC and CT genotypes (P less then .05). Among different ethnic groups, there were significant differences in sPs levels of rs1800807 and rs1800808 genotypes (P less then .05).Plasma sPs concentrations are associated with Ps genotypes and sPs concentration of the same genotype shows racial differences.Bronchoscopic lung volume reduction (BLVR) offers alternative novel treatments for patients with emphysema. Comprehensive evidence for comparing different BLVR remains unclear. To estimate the effects of different BLVR on patients with emphysema. PubMed, EMBASE, Cochrane Library, and Web of Science databases from January 2001 to August 2017 were searched. Randomized clinical trials evaluated effects of BLVR on patients with emphysema. The relevant information was extracted from the published reports with a predefined data extraction sheet, and the risk of bias was assessed with the Cochrane risk of bias tools. Pair-wise metaanalyses were made using the random-effects model. A random-effects network meta-analysis was applied within a Bayesian framework. The quality of evidence contributing to primary outcomes was assessed using the GRADE framework. 13 trials were deemed eligible, including 1993 participants. The quality of evidence was rated as moderate in most comparisons. Medical care (MC)was associated withges in St George's respiratory questionnaire (SGRQ) compared with MC alone (-0.74, [-1.43 to -0.05] and 0.44, [0.11 to 0.78], respectively). BLVR offered a clear advantage for patients with emphysema. EBV had noticeable beneficial effects on the improvement of forced expiratory volume 1, 6MWD and SGRQ, and was associated with lower mortality compared with MC in different strategies of BLVR.The effect of frailty on short and long term results of interventional treatment of coronary heart disease is not well defined. The evaluation of frailty may be helpful in appointment of most suitable treatment option and timing of patient follow-up. The frailty syndrome in daily practice of interventional cardiology ward (FRAPICA) study objective is to evaluate prognostic capability of the Fried frailty scale and instrumental activities of daily living scale (IADL) in elderly patients with symptomatic coronary heart disease. This is a single center, prospective, observational study. Patients aged ≥65 years are eligible. The objectives are to report Fried frailty scale and IADL scale dispersion before hospital discharge and to assess predictive impact of both scores. The endpoints are success of interventional treatment, its complications (procedure related myocardial infarction, dye-induced renal function deterioration, loss of blood), 3-year mortality, either all-cause and cardiovascular, re-infarction, re-intervention, stroke, new-onset heart failure, any hospital readmission, and a combination of all above mentioned. Secondary analyses will focus on distinct clinical patient presentations, sub-classifications of frailty for modeling of long-term risk.FRAPICA trial will improve understanding of the associations between frailty syndrome, cardiovascular system diseases, their invasive treatment, and short and long-term outcomes. It will allow for more individualized assessment of risk and will identify new goals for interventions. (ClinicalTrials.gov Identifier NCT03209414).
