The experimental period lasted 30 days, and fish (113.7 ± 35.1 g) were fed commercial feed. During this period, half of the fish were not manipulated (Condition A), and the other half were chased with a dip net for 5 min twice a day (Condition C). After the 30-day period, fish from both groups were sampled (baseline sampling), and the remainders (not sampled) were air exposed for 3 min (acute stressor), returned to the tanks, and were sampled again 30 min, 3 h, 6 h, and 24 h after air exposure. We evaluated biomarkers of stress (circulating cortisol and glucose), the innate immune system (respiratory burst activity/RBA, hemolytic activity of the complement system (HA-AP) and serum concentration of lysozyme), oxidative damage (lipid peroxidation/LPO), and antioxidant enzymes (superoxide dismutase, SOD; catalase, CAT; and glutathione peroxidase, GSH-Px). Our results showed that stress, acutely or chronically, caused a transient reduction of RAL and activated the HA-AP. Acutely, stress increased the lysozyme concentration. Furthermore, both conditions caused oxidative stress in the liver, and differently they modulated the antioxidant system, enhancing SOD activity and impairing CAT and GSH-Px activity.The involvement of aberrantly expressed genes in the pathogenesis and progression of various human malignancies has been widely reported, including clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC). This study aimed to identify potential crucial genes in ccRCC and further investigate the role of these genes in ccRCC prognosis. Three gene expression profiles (GSE3, GSE6344 and GSE53000) were downloaded from GEO database. GEO2R was performed to identify the differentially expressed genes (DEGs) between ccRCC and normal samples. GO analysis and KEGG pathway enrichment analysis were applied for the function analysis. The DEGs were mapped into the PPI network, then the hub genes were identified and verified using the ONCOMINE database. Kaplan-Meier plotter was used to evaluate of the prognostic value of the identified hub genes. A total of 113 DEGs were identified from the three gene expression profiles, including 64 up-regulated genes and 69 down-regulated genes. DEGs were observed to be enriched in biological processes related to the progress and pathogenesis of human cancers. According to PPI network, 5 hub genes were collected, including TYROBP, C1QB, ITGB2, CD53 and FCER1G. Among them, CD53 was newly identified, and Kaplan-Meier survival curves suggested that high expression of CD53 was significantly associated with poor survival in ccRCC patients (log-rank P  less then  0.01). The present results may provide new insight into the understanding of molecular mechanisms and the clinical prognosis of ccRCC.To evaluate the use of cetrimide alone and combined with photodynamic therapy to reduce S. mutans burden in carious lesions. Sixty permanent third molars were sectioned and the coronal dentin exposed. A cariogenic challenge was performed using brain-heart infusion (BHI) medium supplemented and S. mutans ATCC 25175. Specimens were incubated in anaerobic jars at 37 °C for 15 days, with BHI renewed every 24 h. After 15 days, specimens were randomly divided into six groups (n = 10) C, control (no treatment); CHX, application of chlorhexidine 2%; CT, application of cetrimide 2%; CT+aPDT, application of cetrimide 2% followed by methylene blue dye and aPDT (antimicrobial photodynamic therapy wavelength 660 nm, energy 4J, power 100 mW, spot size 0.0028 cm2, energy density 142 J/cm2 for 40 s); ES+aPDT, application of experimental solution (methylene blue dye with cetrimide) and aPDT; and aPDT alone. Carious tissue from each specimen was collected before and after the applications. Five decimal dilutions were performed, and the resulting solution was seeded in mitis-salivarius-bacitracin agar. Plates were incubated in anaerobic jars at 37 °C for 48 h. Analysis of variance (ANOVA) with post hoc Tukey's test was used to compare total S. mutans counts. Significant reductions in S. mutans were observed after application of CT+aPDT (0.30 (0.97), p less then 0.0001) and ES+aPDT (0.52 (1.13), p less then 0.0001). Cetrimide 2% with methylene blue dye, applied consecutively or as a mixture, can be used as a photosensitizing agent for aPDT to reduce S. mutans burden in dentinal caries.
Different non-pharmacological interventions have been considered and applied to patients with colorectal cancer to improve their quality of life and distress symptoms; however, there is little evidence comparing the effectiveness of these strategies. This review aimed at assessing the effect of non-pharmacological interventions on quality of life, anxiety, and depression scores among patients with colorectal cancer.

A systematic search for articles published until August 1, 2020, in the English language was performed in Medline, EMBASE, Web of Science, and the Cochrane Library; the reference lists of eligible articles were scanned for other potentially eligible publications. A meta-analysis was performed using random-effects models to estimate pooled effect sizes.

Twenty studies were included, representing a total of 3438 patients with colorectal cancer. Non-pharmacological interventions were associated with a significant reduction in anxiety (standardized mean difference [SMD] = - 0.157; 95% confidenceoved quality of life scores in patients with colorectal cancer.
