A total of 31 patients treated in 2016 and 40 patients treated in2018 were included. Prescriptions of tumor necrosis factor alpha inhibitordrugs decreased in 2018 (from 80.6% to 45.0%, p < 0.05), while prescriptionsof interleukin 12/23 inhibitors increased (from 12.9% to 35.0%,p < 0.05). Tuberculosis screening was statistically different between thetwo periods the number of interferon gamma release assays performedwas higher in 2018 (from 9.7% to 80.0%, p < 0.01) and the proportionof patients who successfully underwent chemoprophylaxis was higher in2018 (from 36.4% to 81.8%, p < 0.05). The objective of this study was to assess the results ofapplying Lean Methodology in the design of a standardized medicationstorage model in hospitalization departments.

Descriptive and retrospective study conducted between September2017 and January 2019 in a tertiary level hospital. The PharmacyService led the creation of a multidisciplinary team. Lean Methodologywas used to establish the components and organization and identificationcriteria that made up the standardized medication storage model. Thestocks of each hospitalization department were reviewed and quantified,the final amount of stock needed was agreed with the supervisor of eachdepartment, and the economic impact of the implementation of the standardizedmedication model was assessed. A questionnaire was designedand sent to nursing staff to determine their level of satisfaction with thenew model.

The standardized medication storage model was scaled up to20 nursing departments, leading to an overall reduction of 56.72% in thenumber of pharmacs to economic savings and a marked reduction in the number of active ingredients and high-risk medications. The nursing staff were satisfied with the implementation of the model, suggesting that we should continue to pursue this effective line of action.Drug attrition rate is the calculation or measure of the clinical efficacy of a candidate drug on a screen platform for a specific period. Other factors that affect the high attrition rates are induced scaffold toxicity and the use of assays that are irrelevant, yet affect data processing. These factors contribute to the wide variation in dctively.
