We describe a case of congenital transsphenoidal encephalocele of a 3-year-old boy, whose surgical correction was planned using a hybrid model. The technical description of the model is given in detail. This new hybrid model allowed a detailed discussion of the surgical approach aspects by having tissues of different consistencies and resistances and a very high prediction rate. This approach may allow a reduction in surgery time and possible complications after operative procedures. The study aims to systematize neurosurgeons' practical knowledge of venous sacrifice as applied to the posterior fossa region and to analyze the collected data to present and preserve relevant experience and expert knowledge for current and future practicing neurosurgeons. The venous structures assessed were the superior petrosal vein (SPV), sigmoid sinus (SS), and the tentorial veins (TV). The survey is constructed to obtain surgeons' idea of assessed risk when sacrificing specific venous structures during posterior fossa surgery. They were asked how they prep for surgery, number of operations conducted, and their basis of knowledge. Collected data were mainly qualitative and analyzed with a mixed-method approach. A mean absolute deviation was calculated measuring rate of disagreement for a given substructure. Consensus existed among the participating surgeons that sacrificing the SPV and the TV was considered safe. Although, the risk of death when occluding major structures like the main trunk of the SPV, one of the SS' and or a total occlusion of all TV yielded high risk of death. The risk of infarction was often too apparent to discredit even with low risk of death among an experienced class of surgeons. Our findings provide an overview of surgical risk associated with venous sacrifice. This will minimize cases where indispensable practical knowledge on safe handling veins in the cerebellopontine angle is either to be lost or taught among few when the neurosurgeons retire. This will lower the disagreement regarding risks and increase the quality of surgical decision-making.The surgical treatment of traumatic leptomeningeal cyst (LMC) is repair of the dural defect with or without cranioplasty. The dural substitutes used are either autografts (which may not be enough) or artificial grafts (which are foreign-body implantations and which also may be too expensive in a low-resource practice). In this report from a developing country, we present the surgical description of the use of the cyst capsule as a cost-free autologous graft in the surgical repair of the dural defects of two cases of traumatic leptomeningeal cyst.Environmental degradation has become an important global issue due to the extraordinary increase in greenhouse gas emissions in recent years. Therefore, identifying the main determinants of environmental degradation is one of the primary agenda items of researchers and policymakers. In the literature, many social, economic, and sectorial factors related to the main determinants of CO2 emissions have been studied. Although these studies provide very important information about the causes of CO2 emissions and environmental degradation, some deficiencies remain in the related literature. The agricultural sector activities, which are an important sector at a global level and have significant potential impacts on CO2 emissions, have not been adequately studied. In order to fill this gap, the effects of agriculture and renewable energy on CO2 emissions were examined for lucky-seven countries during the period 1995-2014. The results of panel cointegration reveal the presence of long-run nexus among the variables. While the findings indicate that agriculture increases CO2 emissions, renewable energy is a very important catalyst in reducing CO2 emissions in lucky-seven countries. click here found that economic growth and energy consumption enhance CO2 emissions and trade openness decreases. Panel VECM results indicate that variables are the causes of CO2 emission in the long run. Also, we find that economic growth is the cause of CO2 emissions in the short run.The study investigates the correlation of CO2 absorption performance and electrical properties in a tri-ethanolamine (TEA) aqueous solution compared to the mono-ethanolamine (MEA) and di-ethanolamine (DEA) systems. While the absorption rate of the MEA and DEA systems varies with amine concentration, and the maximum rate is observed at 30.0 and 50.4 wt% amine solution, respectively, the rate of the TEA system according to concentration follows a parabolic curve and the maximum rate is observed at 15.0 wt% solution. The ionic conductivity of carbamic acid in the TEA system is estimated to be the smallest with 37.60 S cm2/mol z and the decreasing ratio of ionic activity coefficient according to the concentration is the largest. The results are mostly attributed to differences in amine molecular structure and the unique reaction mechanism. Finally, based on these values, the correlation equations are obtained to estimate CO2 absorption capacity by measuring electrical conductivity in situ. The majority of developing countries are facing enormous challenges in implementing sustainable waste electrical and electronic equipment (e-waste) management systems. Informal e-waste management practices in Ghana have become a critical challenge to the government and the various stakeholders owing to its environmental and health impacts. However, the effort to implement e-waste formalization management practices has been threatened with many barriers. This study aims to identify and evaluate barriers and pathways to the implementation of e-waste formalization management systems in Ghana. A three-phase methodology consisting of the Delphi method, the hybrid best-worst method and the fuzzy TOPSIS technique is employed. The first phase involves extensive literature review and the use of the Delphi method to identify barriers, pathways, and data collection for e-waste formalization. In the second phase, the best-worst method was employed to analyze the relative weight and ranking of the barriers. The third phase involves the application of fuzzy TOPSIS to rank and prioritize pathways to e-waste formalization systems. Fuzzy logic was applied to handle the subjectivity of decision-makers' preferences. A sensitivity analysis was carried out to check the robustness of the framework and address any effect of bias. The outcome of the study indicates that economic and financial limitations are the most significant barriers to e-waste formalization. #link# "Setting up resourced environmental government agencies for effective monitoring and auditing at the regional levels for appropriate e-waste management practices" is the most prominent pathway. The present study can potentially inform policy makers to develop systematic and strategic policies for the implementation of e-waste formalization management systems.
