Integr Environ Assess Manag 2021;001-8. © 2021 SETAC.The 10-nuclear heteroatom cluster modified SbW8 O30 was successfully synthesized and exhibited inhibitory activity (IC50 =0.29 μM). Based on proteomics analysis, Na4 Ni2 Sb2 W2 -SbW8 inhibited ATP production by affecting the expression of 16 related proteins, hindering metabolic functions in vivo and cell proliferation due to reactive oxygen species (ROS) stress. In particular, the low expression of FAD/FMN-binding redox enzymes (relative expression ratio of the experimental group to the control=0.43843) could be attributed to the redox mechanism of Na4 Ni2 Sb2 W2 -SbW8 , which was consistent with the effect of polyoxometalates (POMs) and FMN-binding proteins on ATP formation. An electrochemical study showed that Na4 Ni2 Sb2 W2 -SbW8 combined with FMN to form Na4 Ni2 Sb2 W2 -SbW8 -2FMN complex through a one-electron process of the W atoms. Na4 Ni2 Sb2 W2 -SbW8 acted as catalase and glutathione peroxidase to protect the cell from ROS stress, and the inhibition rates were 63.3 % at 1.77 μM of NADPH and 86.06 % at 10.62 μM of 2-hydroxyterephthalic acid. Overall, our results showed that POMs can be specific oxidative/antioxidant regulatory agents.
Assess the impact on fluoroscopy time and contrast use in patients with tortuous brachiocephalic/thoracic aortas undergoing right transradial coronary angiography (RTCA) and provide strategies to manage.

Unfavorable anatomy with severe brachiocephalic/thoracic tortuosity, referred to as an "elephant head," remains a significant obstacle for RTCA.

We reviewed the coronary angiograms of patients who underwent RTCA and had tortuous aortas. selleck chemical Angiography was attempted first using a universal catheter (Tiger) and switched to a left coronary specific catheter (Judkins Left [JL]) if challenging. Fluoroscopy time, contrast volume, and greatest distance from the patient's midline to the catheter in the aorta were recorded.

Forty-nine patients (62.6 ± 12.0 years, 69.4% male) were included. Fifteen (30.6%) patients underwent successful angiography with a Tiger catheter; 34 (69.4%) patients required switching to JL catheter. The average distance of Tiger catheters to the midline of the spine was 0.78 ± 0.41 cm versus 1.28 ± 0.44 cm (p = .001) in JL catheters. Tiger catheter use resulted in less fluoroscopy time (6.48 ± 4.73 min) and contrast use (58.87 ± 43.53 ml) than in cases switched to JL (13.26 ± 10.76 min [p = .026]; 86.5 ± 69.95 ml [(p = .017]).

For patients undergoing RTCA with significant brachiocephalic/thoracic aorta tortuosity, "elephant head," a Tiger catheter can be used efficiently for curvatures <1 cm from the middle of the spine. We propose that for curvatures >1 cm, operators should consider immediately switching to a JL catheter.
1 cm, operators should consider immediately switching to a JL catheter. In the confrontation with the COVID-19 pandemic, threat perceived by the nursing population, and its association with sociodemographic and contextual characteristics, must be measured and evaluated as well as their repercussions on their mental health. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to analyse the repercussion of perceived threat from COVID-19 on the mental health of actively employed nurses, considering a COVID-19 diagnosis, whether their own or of someone close to them. The sample was comprised of 351 nurses. Sociodemographic data were collected, and the Questionnaire on Perception of Threat from COVID-19 and the General Health Questionnaire were administered. The three demographic and contextual variables mentioned were related to mental health, mediated in some symptoms by perceived threat. These results provide important information for implementing measures or psychoeducational programs for nurses, essential in the present pandemic for improving psychological adaptation and reducing the effects on their mental health.Three-cube Förster resonance energy transfer (FRET) method is the most extensively applied approach for live-cell FRET quantification. Reliable measurements of calibration factors are crucial for quantitative FRET measurement. We here proposed a modified TA-G method (termed as mTA-G) to simultaneously obtain the FRET-sensitized quenching transition factor (G) and extinction coefficients ratio (γ) between donor and acceptor. mTA-G method includes four steps (1) predetermining the ratio ranges of the sensitized emission of acceptor (FC ) to the donor excitation and donor channel image (IDD [(DA])) for all FRET plasmids; (2) culturing the cells which express every FRET plasmid in one dish respectively; (3) distinguishing and marking the cells expressing different FRET plasmids by detecting their FC /IDD (DA) values; (4) linearly fitting FC /IAA (DA) (acceptor excitation and acceptor channel image) to IDD (DA)/IAA (DA) for different kinds of cells. We implemented mTA-G method by imaging tandem constructs cells with different FRET efficiency cultured in one dish on different days, and obtained consistent G and γ values. mTA-G method not only circumvents switchover of different culture dishes but also keep the constant imaging conditions, exhibiting excellent robustness, and thus will expands the biological applications of quantitative FRET analysis in living cells.Discovering therapeutic agents New bioactive agents, either as sole or combinational agents, have been constructed through the synthetic manipulation of the intermediates within the total synthesis of the uvaretin class of natural products. It was found that increasing the hydrophobic character of the phenolic core correlates to a decrease in sole agent cytotoxicity. The synthesis of new, small chemical screening libraries (CSL) constructed from the intermediates of our total synthesis route of the uvaretin class of natural products is demonstrated herein. Numerous chalcone-based CSLs with various substitution on the phenolic groups within the chalcone core were assembled. Through cytotoxicity investigations, it was found that the level of hydrophobicity of the phenolic core of the chalcones gives biases less cytotoxicity with more hydrophobic cores. In addition, it was observed that the potentiation, evaluated with 6-thiopurine in the pancreatic cancer cell line MIA PaCa-2, is tunable by the inclusion of less-hydrophobic character on the phenolic core.
