3% vs. 62.1%, p=0.300; 52.8% vs. 59.7%, p=0.100, respectively). Furthermore, the 5-year OS and DFS rates in patients with greater curvature involvement (54.4% vs. 61.9%, p=0.500; 50.0% vs. 57.6%, p=0.400, respectively) and Borrmann type IV disease (23.8% vs. 38.6%, p=0.400; 16.7% vs. 33.9%, p=0.200, respectively) after PSM were also not significantly different between the two groups.

Prophylactic splenic hilar LND without splenectomy does not improve long-term survival in PAGC. Therefore, this procedure might not be essential for patients with PAGC as well greater curvature involvement and Borrmann type IV disease.

Children are often sedated for renal blood oxygenation level-dependent (BOLD) magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and may require low-dose oxygen administration. SP600125 JNK inhibitor It is unclear whether low-dose oxygen administration affects results of BOLD MRI. We investigated the effect of low-dose oxygen administration on renal BOLD MRI and its variation by the presence or absence of renal disease.

We retrospectively examined children undergoing MRI for renal disease between 2013 and 2020. Patients were divided into glomerulonephritis and non-glomerulonephritis groups; spin relaxation time (T2*) was determined using a 3.0TMRI system.

The study included 10 children (5 patients in each group); patient characteristics between the groups did not differ significantly. In the entire cohort, oxygen administration reduced mean spin relaxation rate (R2*) value in the medulla (p < 0.04). The mean R2* value decreased with oxygen administration in the non-glomerulonephritis group, whereas this was not observed in the glomerulonephritis group. The responses to oxygen administration of the two groups differed significantly in the cortex (p < 0.05) and medulla (p < 0.02).

Low-dose oxygen administration affects the results of BOLD MRI. We suggest that understandingthe fluctuations due to oxygen administration is useful in monitoring the disease activity of glomerulonephritis.

This is a surprising oversight, given the centrality of the Bible to both public and private religious practice in the USA. This study considers whether the belief in biblical literalism is associated with general mental health and anxiety, and whether this relationship is moderated by gender and two dimensions of religiosity attendance and attachment to God. Data are drawn from the 2010 Baylor Religion Survey (N = 1360). Regression results suggest that stronger beliefs in biblical literalism are associated with better mental health and lower anxiety, but only among women who attend religious services weekly. However, women holding strong literalist views but falling short of weekly attendance norms reported worse mental health. There was no evidence that the relationship between biblical literalism and mental health differed by attachment to God. The implications of these results for the broader study of religion and health are discussed in light of prior research on the "dark side" of religion, recognizing that causal claims cannot be made due to the cross-sectional nature of the data.Religious coping is a double-edged sword. Clarification of the psychological benefits for positive religious coping requires statistical controls for negative religious coping and vice versa. This study sought to further explore the complexities of Muslim religious coping by extending the analysis to Afghans who coped with the sufferings associated with recollections of childhood and adolescent sexual abuse. Two hundred Dari Persian-speaking Afghan university students (122 identified having experience of childhood sexual abuse) self-reported on variables that measure religious orientation, religious coping, Muslim experiential religiousness, mental health, and child abuse. Results showed that negative religious coping interfered with the possibly beneficial effects of positive religious coping on mental health and child abuse. After controlling for negative religious coping, the associations of positive religious coping became obvious. In addition, Muslim spirituality moderated the associations of religious coping with mental health outcomes and child abuse for people with higher Muslim spirituality, positive religious coping associated with better mental health, and negative religious coping associated with less child abuse. Implications for religious coping and combating trauma in a religious context are discussed.Profound ethical challenges have been generated by the emergence of the COVID-19 pandemic. The unprecedented plights that have arisen have led nations to devise ethical roadmaps for handling their finite resources. Muslim countries are no exception and must continue to endure the effects of the pandemic, as more waves of infections from new strains are being reported. Given the scarcity of resources available to some countries, it is critical to adopt a roadmap to prioritize these limited resources based on ethical guidelines that are acceptable to Muslim communities. This work describes the concept of "ijtihad", a process frequently used by Muslim scholars to develop novel solutions to deal with unprecedented events, such as the recent pandemic. In this manuscript, Islamic perspectives were discussed on social justice and equality and how limited resources can be used in a way consistent with such perspectives. Relying on previous experiences of the Muslim community, such as the plague of Amwas, in which social distancing and quarantine strategies were used effectively to control the disease, and utilizing available guidelines such as "Al-Qawaid Al-Fiqhiyyah" and "Fiqh Al-Nawazel", we propose a practical protocol and roadmap that can be applied in the current crisis. Managing and prioritizing limited medical resources requires a just and ethically acceptable system. Islamic leaders should immediately develop a roadmap that emphasizes ethical values such as ihsan and altruism to help Muslim countries prioritize the limited medical resources available to medical staff to guarantee the sustainability of health services.
