To verify the interval of responsiveness to the scales Segmental Assessment of Trunk Control (SATCo-BR), Performance of Upper Limbs (PUL), and Jebsen Taylor Test (JTT) in patients with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD).

We assessed patients with DMD aged 6 to 19 years old and with mini-mental (MMSE) score above 10 points. MPP+ iodide solubility dmso The assessments were performed individually, in a single session. The upper limb function was performed by PUL and JTT, and trunk control by SATCo-BR. Assessments were repeated six and 12 months after the initial assessment. The repeated-measures analysis of variance model and Bonferroni's multiple comparison method were employed as post hoc analysis; when the ANOVA assumptions were not met, the Friedman test was applied.

The sample consisted of 28 patients evaluated in three moments (initial, and six and 12 months after the beginning). There was a time effect for the Upper Limb function performance in the total JTT, and for the subtests, except for subtests 1 and 6, which did not show a difference between the different moments. There was also a time effect for the score of total PUL, proximal PUL, intermediate PUL, and distal PUL. In the SATCo-BR, this effect was observed between the initial and 6 months, and between the initial and 12 months.

The JTT, PUL, and SATCo-BR scales can detect changes over time, and they showed responsiveness to detect the evolution of the disease in the 6-month interval.

To cross-culturally adapt and validate the Montreal Children's Hospital Feeding Scale (MCH-FS) into Brazilian Portuguese.

The MCH-FS, originally validated in Canada, was validated in Brazil as Escala Brasileira de Alimentação Infantil (EBAI) and developed according to the following steps translation, production of the Brazilian Portuguese version, testing of the original and the Brazilian Portuguese versions, back-translation, analysis by experts and by the developer of the original questionnaire, and application of the final version. The EBAI was applied to 242 parents/caregivers responsible for feeding children from 6 months to 6 years and 11 months of age between February and May 2018, with 174 subjects in the control group and 68 ones in the case group. The psychometric properties evaluated were validity and reliability.

In the case group, 79% of children were reported to have feeding difficulties, against 13% in the control group. The EBAI had good internal consistency (Cronbach's alpha=0.79). Using the suggested cutoff point of 45, the raw score discriminated between cases and controls with a sensitivity of 79.4% and specificity of 86.8% (area under the ROC curve=0.87).

The results obtained in the validation process of the EBAI demonstrate that the questionnaire has adequate psychometric properties and, thus, can be used to identify feeding difficulties in Brazilian children from 6 months to 6 years and 11 months of age.

It has been reported in 18 countries from southern Mexico to northern Argentina, including the Caribbean islands. Although most reports indicate that P. geniculatus has wild habitats, this species has intrusive habits regarding human dwellings mainly located in intermediate deforested areas. It is attracted by artificial light from urban and rural buildings, raising the risk of transmission of Trypanosoma cruzi. Despite the wide body of published information on P. geniculatus, many knowledge gaps exist about its biology and epidemiological potential. For this reason, we analysed the literature for P. geniculatus in Scopus, PubMed, Scielo, Google Scholar and the BibTriv3.0 databases to update existing knowledge and provide better information on its geographic distribution, life cycle, genetic diversity, evidence of intrusion and domiciliation, vector-related circulating discrete taxonomic units, possible role in oral T. cruzi transmission, and the effect of climate change on its biology and epidemiology.
This study translated, culturally adapted, and validated a Brazilian Portuguese version (SCOFF-BR) of the Sick, Control, One Stone, Fat, Food Questionnaire (SCOFF) to screen eating disorders in young adults.

This study used back-translation to culturally adapt the questionnaire according to International Society of Pharmacoeconomics and Outcome Research principles. The SCOFF-BR validation process involved a sample of men and women aged 18-32 years from a university community. After the participants completed the SCOFF-BR questionnaire, pre-trained researchers interviewed them with the Mini International Neuropsychiatric Interview (MINI). The presence of eating disorders was determined according to DSM-5 criteria.

Of the 361 subjects, 9.7% had an eating disorder (2.2% anorexia nervosa, 5% bulimia nervosa, and 2.5% binge-eating disorder). Using a cutoff point of two positive responses, we obtained a sensitivity of 80% and a specificity of 71.5%, with an accuracy of 72.3%. The positive and negative predictive values were 23.1% and 97.1%, respectively.

This study demonstrated that the Brazilian version of the SCOFF questionnaire presents satisfactory accuracy and reliability to screen eating disorders among young adults in the Brazilian university community.

The aim of this study is to evaluate the existing literature on biomarkers related to the severity and chronification of CHIK. In this sense, a systematic review was conducted based on the PRISMA Statement guideline. Articles that described the association of biomarkers with the evolution of the disease (severity or chronification), published until August 20th 2019 were considered eligible. The search was carried out in the PubMed, Scopus, Virtual Health Library (VHL) and Science Direct databases. After searching the databases, 17 articles were added to the review, and after analyzing the articles, several biomarkers were associated with severity, such as increased levels of IL-6, IP-10, IL-1b, MIG, MCP-1, and reduced levels of RANTES and IL-8 or chronification, such as increased levels of IL-6, TNF-α, MCP-1, IL-12, INF-α, IL-13, INF-γ, GM-CSF, CRP, IL-1a, IL-15, Factor VII, IP-10, IL-10, IL-4, IL-1RA, IL-8, MIP-1α, MIP-1β, ferritin, MIG, ESR, NO, malondialdehyde, and reduced levels of RANTES, ferritin, eotaxin, HGF, IL-27, IL-17A, IL-29, TGF-β, IL-10, and thiols.
