Es krim ini dibuat dari produk susu dan krim, ditambah perasa dan pemanis. Campuran tersebut diaduk sambil mengurangi suhunya untuk mencegah pembentukan kristal es.
Makanan ini termasuk jenis dessert dan/atau makanan ringan, tapi mengandung lemak dan kalori yang cukup banyak.
