Veritaserum
Ramuan yang hanya membutuhkan 3 tetes untuk memaksa si peminum berkata jujur ketika ditanya. Ramuan yang penggunaannya sangat dikontrol oleh dewan sihir ini dianggap sangat berbahaya apalagi jika disalahgunakan. Sihir occlumency dianggap paling ampuh untuk menangkal ramuan veritaserum karena sihir ini adalah sihir untuk mempertahankan pikiran seseorang dari luar, dan juga walaupun veritaserum adalah ramuan kebenaran, kebenaran yang diungkapkan oleh si peminun terkadang juga tidak akurat serum ini hanya bisa mengungkapkan apa yang dianggap si peminun benar maka apabila si peminum adalah orang yang gila maka jelas kesaksiannya diragukan. Seperti kasus Borty Courch Jr saat ia menyamar sebagai professor Pertahanan Terhadap Ilmu Hitam dan saat ia mencuri barang barang untuk menyamar sebagai Alastor Moody kesaksiannya tidak dapat dipercaya karena Borty memiliki gangguan kejiwaan
