Infantile hemangiomas (IHs) are common benign vascular tumours in infants (estimated prevalence 5% to 10%).1 Oral propranolol is currently the first-line treatment for complicated proliferative IHs.2 It is approved by the US Food and Drug Administration and the European Medicines Agency for treating complicated IHs, but questions remain regarding the optimal modalities of use.3 We conducted an international survey to assess practices in prescribing oral propranolol for IHs among practitioners dealing with IHs worldwide. The Preferred Reporting Items for Case reports in Endodontics (PRICE) 2020 guidelines are being introduced exclusively for Endodontics by adapting and integrating the CAse REport (CARE) guidelines and Clinical and Laboratory Images in Publications (CLIP) principles. The PRICE 2020 guidelines have been developed to help authors improve the completeness, accuracy and transparency of case reports in Endodontics and thus enhance the standard of manuscripts submitted for publication. The aim of this document is to provide a comprehensive explanation for each item in the PRICE 2020 checklist along with examples from the literature that demonstrate compliance with these guidelines. This information will highlight the importance of each item and provide practical examples to help authors understand the necessity of providing comprehensive information when preparing case reports. Clinical data from the Chinese outbreak have been reported, but experiences and recommendations from clinical practice during the Italian outbreak have not. We report the impact of the coronavirus disease 2019 outbreak on regional and national healthcare infrastructure. We also report on recommendations based on clinical experiences of managing patients throughout Italy. In particular, we describe key elements of clinical management, including safe oxygen therapy; airway management; personal protective equipment; and non-technical aspects of caring for patients diagnosed with coronavirus disease 2019. Only through planning, training and team working will clinicians and healthcare systems be best placed to deal with the many complex implications of this new pandemic. © 2020 Association of Anaesthetists.A fundamental goal of community ecology is to understand the drivers of community assembly and diversity. Local factors acting on community assembly are typically related to environmental conditions while regional factors are typically related to dispersal. Previous research has not consistently demonstrated the importance of local or regional factors, but this is likely because these factors act in concert and not in isolation. Studies that simultaneously integrate local and regional factors into analyses of community assembly can be a useful avenue to further our understanding of this core concept in community ecology. Here, we aimed to identify metacommunity structure and diversity and the local and regional drivers of community assembly at the continental scale. We evaluated metacommunity structure and drivers of assembly of macroinvertebrate communities in 941 rivers and streams nested within nine ecoregions distributed across the conterminous United States. Pattern-based metacommunity analyses and boostupport the importance of environmental control over community assembly and biodiversity. Moreover, biodiversity at the continental scale is likely maintained through this inherent variation in the drivers of assembly and concomitant changes in community composition among ecoregions. We suggest that further work should evaluate the assembly of other facets of community structure and the underlying mechanisms of the contingency in assembly drivers. © 2020 British Ecological Society.1. The vulnerability of species to climate change is jointly influenced by geographic phenotypic variation, acclimation, and behavioral thermoregulation. The importance of interactions between these factors, however, remains poorly understood. 2. selleck chemicals llc We demonstrate how advances in mechanistic niche modelling can be used to integrate and assess the influence of these sources of uncertainty in forecasts of climate change impacts. 3. We explored geographic variation in thermal tolerance (i.e. maximum and minimum thermal limits) and its potential for acclimation in juvenile European common frogs (Rana temporaria) along elevational gradients. Further, we employed a mechanistic niche model (NicheMapR) to assess the relative contributions of phenotypic variation, acclimation and thermoregulation in determining the impacts of climate change on thermal safety margins and activity windows. 4. Our analyses revealed that high elevation populations had slightly wider tolerance ranges driven by increases in heat tolerance but s from predicted climate change; instead, behavioral thermoregulation may be the only effective mechanism to avoid thermal stress under future climates.
