Clinical efficiency involving curcumin as opposed to chlorhexidine being an adjunct in order to scaling as well as underlying planing for the periodontitis: A planned out assessment and meta-analysis.
Based on the three books of Chinese Acupuncture-Moxibustion Therapeutics (1931), Chinese Acupuncture-Moxibustion Lectures (1940) and Chinese Acupuncture-Moxibustion (1955) written by Mr. CHENG Dan-an, the classification of facial diseases as well as the records and evolution process of Chinese and western disease names are summarized and analyzed to discuss Mr. CHENG Dan-an's understanding of facial diseases in different periods. Through the systematic analysis and comparison in the trilogy of acupuncture and moxibustion, the characteristics of syndrome differentiation and diagnosis-treatment of acupuncture-moxibustion treatment for facial diseases by Mr. CHENG Dan-an are summarized, including clinical syndrome differentiation and treatment, which is adjusted with syndrome changes; simplified selection of acupoints, with attention on empirical acupoints; the strength of acupuncture is based on efficacy; acupuncture and moxibustion has specific indication; combination of acupuncture and medication could bring out the best in each other.According to the effect of the spirit and yang qi in the treatment of wei syndrome and the theory as "acupoints of yangming meridians especially for treatment of wei syndrome", professor NI Guang-xia proposes the treatment principle of xingshen tongyang (regaining consciousness/spirit and promoting yang). Guided by this treatment principle, the theory of traditional meridians and acupoints is coordinated with the achievement of modern medicine research. Consequently, xingshen tongyang needling technique of acupuncture is suggested. In the treatment of wei syndrome, the predominated prescriptions are formed for regaining consciousness/spirit, i.e. Baihui (GV 20), Sishencong (EX-HN 1), Fengfu (GV 16) and Fengchi (GB 20) and for promoting yang circulation, i.e. selleckchem Jianyu (LI 15), Quchi (LI 11), Hegu (LI 4) and Zusanli (ST 36). The acupoint prescriptions are modified align with the individual cases. This treatment regimen effectively relieves the symptoms and delayed the progress of disease.OBJECTIVE To observe the effect of early intervention of bone-nearby acupuncture (BNA) combined with electroacupuncture (EA) on the expression of histone deacetylase1(HDAC1), histone deacetylase 2 (HDAC2) andμ-opioid recepter (MOR) in dorsal root ganglia (DRG) of bone cancer pain-morphine tolerance (BCP-MT) rats, and to explore its possible mechanism. METHODS A total of 35 SD rats were randomized into a sham BCP group (n=6), a BCP group (n=7), a MT group (n=7), a BNA+EA group (n=8) and a shame BNA group (n=7). Except of the sham BCP group, cancer cell inoculation operation at left tibia was given in the other 4 groups to establish the bone cancer pain model. In the MT group, the BNA+EA group and the shame BNA group, intraperitoneal injection of morphine hydrochloride was given to establish the morphine tolerance model. After the operation, bone-nearby acupuncture combined with electroacupuncture was applied at "Zusanli" (ST 36) and "Kunlun" (BL 60) in the BNA+EA group, with dilatational wave, 2 Hz/100 Hz in fpared with the BCP group (P less then 0.05). In the BNA+EA group, the DRG level of HDAC1 was decreased compared with the MT group and the sham BNA group (P less then 0.01, P less then 0.05), while the level of MOR was increased (P less then 0.01). CONCLUSION Early intervention of bone-nearby acupuncture combined with electroacupuncture can relieve the morphine tolerance in bone cancer pain rats, it may relate to down-regulating the expression of HDAC1 and up-regulating the expression of MOR in the dorsal root ganglia.OBJECTIVE To observe the direct intervention effects of electroacupuncture (EA) and non-steroid anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) on pain memory, and to explore their effects on cAMP/PKA/cAMP pathway in anterior cingulate gyrus (ACC). METHODS Fifty clean healthy male SD rats were randomly divided into a control group, a model group, an indomethacin group, an EA group and a sham EA group, 10 rats in each group. Except the control group, the pain memory model was established in the remaining four groups by twice injection of carrageenan at foot; 0.1 mL of 2%λ-carrageenan was subcutaneously injected at the left foot of rats; 14 days later, when the pain threshold of rats of each group returned to the basic level, the second injection was performed with the same procedure. The rats in the EA group were treated with EA at bilateral "Zusanli" (ST 36) for 30 min; the rats in the indomethacin group was treated with indomethacin intragastric administration with the dose of 3 mg/kg; the rats in the sham EA group was trehich have significant advantage over NSAIDs in the treatment of chronic pain. The advantage effect of EA on pain memory may be related to the inhibition of cAMP/PKA/CREB pathway in ACC area.OBJECTIVE To observe the effect of acupuncture combined with conventional symptomatic and supportive treatments on swallowing function and nutritional status in children with severe hand foot and mouth disease complicated with dysphagia. METHODS A total of 68 children with severe hand foot and mouth disease complicated with dysphagia were randomized into an observation group and a control group, 34 cases in each one. Symptomatic and supportive treatments such as lowering temperature, tranquilizing and mechanical ventilation were adopted in the control group. On the basis of the treatments in the control group, acupuncture was applied at Lianquan (CV 23), Jialianquan (Extra), cervical Jiaji (EX-B 2), Fengfu (GV 16), Fengchi (GB 20), Yamen (GV 15), scalp motor and sensory areas in the observation group, once a day, 6 times a week, one month as a course and totally 3 courses were required. Time spent on restoring swallowing function was observed in both groups. Besides, score of dysphagia disorder survey (DDS) and nutritional status were evaluated before and after treatment, and the clinical effects were compared. RESULTS The total effective rate was 91.2% (31/34) in the observation group, which was superior to 73.5% (25/34) in the control group (P less then 0.05). The time of restoring swallowing function in the observation group was advanced than the control group (P less then 0.05). Compared before treatment, the DDS scores after treatment were decreased in both groups, and the reduction in the observation group was larger than the control group (all P less then 0.05). After the treatment, the normal rate of nutritional status was 61.8% (21/34) in the observation group, which was superior to 32.4% (11/34) in the control group (P less then 0.05). CONCLUSION On the basis of conventional treatment, acupuncture can effectively treat the severe hand foot and mouth disease complicated with dysphagia, improve the swallowing function and nutritional status.
