Parasitic plants in the family Orobanchaceae, such as Striga, Orobanche and Phelipanche, often cause significant damage to agricultural crops. The Orobanchaceae family comprises more than 2000 species in about 100 genera, providing an excellent system for studying the molecular basis of parasitism and its evolution. Notably, the establishment of model Orobanchaceae parasites, such as Triphysaria versicolor and Phtheirospermum japonicum, that can infect the model host Arabidopsis, has greatly facilitated transgenic analyses of genes important for parasitism. In addition, recent genomic and transcriptomic analyses of several Orobanchaceae parasites have revealed fascinating molecular insights into the evolution of parasitism and strategies for adaptation in this family. This review highlights recent progress in understanding how Orobanchaceae parasites attack their hosts and how the hosts mount a defense against the threats.Elite football can make players feel nervous, and personality characteristics, as well as experience, affect how well pressure is handled before important games. Studying the psychological characteristics of female football players can provide information on how well psychological pressure is handled and generate knowledge on how to support players in order to improve performance. Based on a sample of 128 female elite football players from 8 top-level teams, the present study investigates whether psychological characteristics and football experience/player stus in elite female football players can predict state anxiety before important matches. Our results outline that high age and national team experience negatively predicted most of the trait anxiety subscales. In line with previous research, no psychological differences were found between goalkeepers, defenders, midfielders, and strikers while starting players revealed to have significantly lower trait anxiety. When measuring before important matches, we found that somatic state anxiety was negatively associated with senior national team experience and positively associated with worry trait anxiety and fear of failure. Cognitive state anxiety was negatively associated with hope for success and positively associated with somatic and worry trait anxiety. Self-confidence was positively associated with youth national team experience and negatively associated with worry trait anxiety. It can be concluded that psychological characteristics and national team experience are both important for optimal state anxiety before important matches in elite-level women's football. Implications for practice and future research are discussed.
Ocrelizumab is a humanized monoclonal antibody that selectively targets CD20-positive B cells and is indicated for treatment of patients with relapsing forms of multiple sclerosis (RMS) or primary progressive multiple sclerosis (PPMS). The pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of ocrelizumab in patients with RMS or PPMS were assessed.

A population pharmacokinetic model was developed based on data from the Phase II study and the Phase III studies OPERA I and OPERA II in patients with RMS. Data from the ORATORIO Phase III study in patients with PPMS became available after model finalization and was used for external model evaluation.

The ocrelizumab serum concentration vs time course was accurately described by a 2-compartment model with time-dependent clearance. Body weight was found to be the main covariate. The area under the concentration-time curve over the dosing interval was estimated to be 26% higher for patients with RMS weighing <60 kg and 21% lower for patients weighing >90 kg when compared with the 60-90 kg group. The terminal half-life of ocrelizumab was estimated as 26 days. The extent of B-cell depletion in blood, as the pharmacodynamic marker, was greater with increasing ocrelizumab exposure.

Fluorescent confocal microscopy of thick tissue sections is a well-established method for visualising and measuring skeletal muscle fibres and surrounding capillaries in 3D. To better understand this phenomenon, we studied the horizontal deformation of thick (100 µm) transverse skeletal muscle sections, by comparing the muscle fibre diameters measured on thick sections to muscle fibre diameters measured on thin (10 µm) sections of the same sample. Diameter changes were further correlated with shrinkage in the Z direction (axial shrinkage) and deviation of the muscle fibre preferential axis from the Z-axis. Adhesive-related exhibits encountered in forensic cases might need to be determined if they could have come from a particular source or to establish link between cases or persons. This study was aimed to discriminate solvent-based adhesives, especially to aid forensic investigation of glue sniffing activities. In this study, thirteen brands with three samples each, totaling at 39 adhesive samples, were analyzed using attenuated total reflectance-Fourier transform infrared (ATR-FTIR) spectroscopy followed by chemometric methods. Experimental output showed that adhesive samples utilized in this study were less likely to change in their ATR-FTIR profiles over time, at least up to 2 months. No interference from plastic materials was noticed based on ATR-FTIR profile comparison. Physical examination could differentiate the samples into two groups, namely contact adhesives and cement adhesives. A principal component analysis-score linear discriminative analysis (PC-score LDA) model resulted in 100% and 98.
