Naga adalah reptil raksasa yang biasanya berwujud ular besar ada juga yang menggambarkannya sebagai kadal bersayap yang bisa mengeluarkan nafas api habitatnya bisa dimana saja (Air,Darat,Udara) Uniknya naga hanya bisa didekati oleh para penyihir saja. Organ seperti kulit,darah,jantung,hati dan tanduk naga adalah benda sihir yang bernilai tinggi kecuali telurnya tidak boleh diperdagangkan.
Nama naga diberbagai peradaban berbeda-beda contohnya di Inggris menyebutnya Dragon, Didunia barat naga juga digambarkan sebagai sosok monster yang suka merusak dan bersekutu dengan kekuatan gelap kononnya seseorang bisa mendapat gelar pahlawan atau ksatria dengan cara membunuh seekor naga.
Skandinavia menyebutnya Draken dan di Tiongkok disebut Liong dan menganggap bahwa naga adalah Dewa.
Diindonesia naga dianggap sebagai lambang Dunia Timur karena meskipun mempunyai kekuatan dahsyat namun tidak semena-mena dan bahkan bias mengayomi dan Sebelum zaman hindu diindonesia terdapat anggapan bahwa dunia terbagi menjadi dua yaitu
1. Dunia Bawah yang digambarkan dengan bumi,bulan,gelap,air,ular,kura-kura dan buaya
2. Dunia Atas digambarkan dengan matahari,kuda,rajawali
