its interesting to read so much about texas and i liked how she clears up misconceptions like i guess i thought about texas in connection to the west too, which is funny bc im literally also a southern state, and this made me realize maybe i should make an effort to learn more about people in other places and in communities in proximity to the one i live (and not just care about myself)
i dont blame myself though, i dont think anybody knows anything about south carolina, the only thing people have heard about is charleston which is funny, that charleston is more famous than the capital

also its kind of scary that she says texas is the bellwether because i think alot of the stuff i read about abortion is in texas like texan teen dying because seh couldnt get an abortion. if thats whats gonna happen to the rest of the country.. I DONT WANNA LIVE HERE GUYS </3

its interesting that these uncomfortable truths are always omitted. her talking abt the slave plantation owners not being included in the lore, reminded me of our previous reading on the first day about how jane austen didn't include the plantations in pride and prejudice thats definitely something ppl should address more
but i also can relate as a writer
