Huntington's disease (HD) is a neurodegenerative disorder caused by a CAG nucleotide expansion, which encodes the amino acid glutamine, in the huntingtin gene. HD is characterized by motor, cognitive, and psychiatric dysfunctions. In a previous study, we showed by qPCR that some genes altered in an HD mouse model were also altered in blood of HD patients. These alterations were mainly with respect to the dynein family. Therefore, this study aimed to investigate whether dynein light chain Tctex type 1 (DYNLT1) is altered in HD patients and if there is a correlation between DYNLT1 gene expression changes and disease progression. We assessed the DYNLT1 gene expression in the blood of 19 HD patients and 20 healthy age-matched controls. Also, in 6 of these patients, we analyzed the DYNLT1 expression at two time points, 3 years apart. The DYNLT1 gene expression in the whole blood of HD patients was significantly downregulated and this difference was widened in later stages. These data suggest that DYNLT1 could emerge as a peripheral prognostic indicator in HD and, also, might be a target for potential intervention in the future.Recent studies identified chronic leptomeningeal enhancement (LME) in late-acquired FLAIR sequences in secondary progressive (SP) multiple sclerosis (MS). These LMEs correlate with focal cortical inflammation and demyelination observed by pathology, which are supposed to drive long-term cortical atrophy. We report a spontaneously remitting meningeal uptake in a patient suffering from SP MS. No cortical lesion was visible on FLAIR or DIR sequences, but the rate of cortical atrophy was higher in this area. This case suggests that conventional 3-T MRI, by contrary to white matter lesions, may be amnesic with regard to the potential burden of previous regressive meningeal lesions. Moreover, T1-enhanced sequences underscore the real inflammatory activity. LME could be more than passive markers of SP MS, but is also directly responsible for focal cortical atrophy and could be an early manifestation of cortical lesions.While general criminological theories, including low self-control, social bonds, routine activities, and risky lifestyles are increasingly used to explain criminal victimization, there is some evidence these theories may omit important sex differences. To date, the empirical evidence remains mixed, which may be an artifact of methodological differences. This study used three-level meta-analytic methods to assess the use of various predictors derived from criminological theory on a variety of criminal victimization types, sample characteristics, and differences in research design. In a total sample of 166,650 females and 129,988 males in 115 studies using 95 unique datasets of adolescents (average age = 10-19), the meta-analysis revealed that elements of risky lifestyles are largely sex-neutral, while some sex-specific effects of bonds, routine activities, and prior victimization are observed. Implications for criminological theory, developmental and life course research on adolescent victimization, and avenues for prevention are discussed.
Wounds are generally classified as clean, clean contaminated, contaminated and dirty. Aesthetic surgery, including breast augmentation, is classified as clean or clean contaminated. The current study is the analysis carried out between primary and secondary augmentation mammoplasties to look at the incidence of periprosthetic infection between the two groups.

Autologous lipotransfer has increasingly become popular for breast reconstruction. Moreover, owing to the emergence of information regarding the efficacy of stromal vascular fraction (SVF) in terms of oncological safety and survival rate, procedures based on cell-assisted lipotransfer (CAL) have been widely employed recently. However, quantitative data of CAL with SVF are lacking. We evaluated the efficacy of CAL using SVF on survival rate in breast reconstruction.

This scoping review covers needle visualization and localization techniques in ultrasound, where localization-based approaches mostly aim to compute the needle shaft (and tip) location while potentially enhancing its visibility too.
A literature review is conducted on the state-of-the-art techniques, which could be divided into five categories (1) signal and image processing-based techniques to augment the needle, (2) modifications to the needle and insertion to help with needle-transducer alignment and visibility, (3) changes to ultrasound image formation, (4) motion-based analysis and (5) machine learning.
Advantages, limitations and challenges of representative examples in each of the categories are discussed. Evaluation techniques performed in ex vivo, phantom and in vivo studies are discussed and summarized.
Greatest limitation of the majority of the literature is that they rely on original visibility of the needle in the static image. Need for additional/improved apparatus is the greatest limitation toward clinical utility in practice.
