The mean ± standard deviation values obtained were as follows STT 2.50±2.39mm/min; rebound tonometry 9.50±2.43mmHg (TonoVet®, calibration P), 14.60±2.82mmHg (TonoVet®, calibration D), 18.93±3.99mmHg (TonoVet Plus®, calibration dog); applanation tonometry 18.66±4.16mmHg; PFL 10.98±1.67mm.
Anatomical and clinical ophthalmic data presented in this study are unprecedented for this species. The results can be used as clinical reference parameters, allowing for better care of these species. The lack of data for the Procyonidae family must be regarded as an incentive for more studies.

Many of these individuals undergo basic training with minimal monitoring and evaluation of performance and knowledge levels. To identify the knowledge, attitudes and practices of Cambodian para-veterinarians a cross-sectional survey (n = 80) of Village Animal Health Workers (VAHWs) was conducted during August 2018 in the provinces of Tbong Khmum and Takeo in southern Cambodia. Descriptive statistics indicated that VAHWs had a high level (mean score 86%) of animal health and biosecurity knowledge. As the Royal Government of Cambodia continues to move towards commercial agricultural value chains, VAHWs are crucial to ensuring the safety and sustainability of these systems. Binomial logistic regression modelling found the length of employment (p = .003), reporting of pig diseases (p = .007), recommending the quarantine of newly purchased animals (p = .008), treatment of cases of haemorrhagic septicaemia with antibiotics (p = .032) and washing footwear with water when entering or leaving a farm (p = .008) were all positively associated with a higher (≥92%) animal health and biosecurity knowledge score. These results demonstrate the correlation of positive biosecurity and disease reporting behaviours with high levels of knowledge, providing evidence that improved training of VAHWs can ensure they remain important in supporting the under-resourced national veterinary services. click here Regular monitoring and evaluation of training programmes for VAHWs will likely further strengthen the livestock sector in Cambodia.Recent studies have shown that exercise improves skeletal muscle and cognitive function by stimulating the secretion of numerous molecules. In particular, previous studies have suggested that exercise-induced beta-hydroxybutyrate (BHB) release might improve skeletal muscle and cognitive function, but to date these studies have been limited to cell and animal models. Therefore, we aimed to determine how an exercise-induced increase in BHB affects skeletal muscle and cognitive function at a cellular level, in an animal model, and in humans. The effects of BHB on skeletal muscle and cognitive function were determined by treating C2C12 and C6 cell lines with BHB, and by measuring the skeletal muscle and serum BHB concentrations in aged mice after endurance or resistance exercise. In addition, serum BHB concentration was measured before and after high-speed band exercise in elderly people, and its relationships with muscle and cognitive function were analyzed. We found that BHB increased cell viability and brain-derived neurotrophic factor expression level in C6 cells, and endurance exercise, but not resistance exercise, increased the muscle BHB concentration in aged mice. Furthermore, the BHB concentration was positively related to skeletal muscle and cognitive function. Exercise did not increase the serum BHB concentration in the elderly people and BHB did not correlate with cognitive function, but after excluding the five people with the highest preexisting serum concentrations of BHB, the BHB concentrations of the remaining participants were increased by exercise, and the concentration showed a tendency toward a positive correlation with cognitive function. Thus, the BHB released by skeletal muscle following endurance exercise may improve muscle and cognitive function in animals and humans. In partnership with the Regional Co-operative Agreement for Research, Development and Training Related to Nuclear Science and Technology (RCA), the IAEA has been supporting Member States in the Asia and Pacific region to prepare, initiate and expand radiotherapy services safely and effectively. Education and training are essential components in IAEA-RCA projects and have been delivered through various initiatives both online and offline. In addition to building capacity and enabling technology transfer, these initiatives provided opportunities to foster collaboration at the regional level, leading to the initiation of professional societies and education/training schemes.During the second surge of COVID-19 in France (fall 2020), we assessed the expression of monocyte CD169 (i.e., Siglec-1, one of the numerous IFN-stimulated genes) upon admission to intensive care units of 45 patients with RT-PCR-confirmed SARS-CoV2 pulmonary infection. Overall, CD169 expression was strongly induced on circulating monocytes of COVID-19 patients compared with healthy donors and patients with bacterial sepsis. Beyond its contribution at the emergency department, CD169 testing may be also helpful for patients' triage at the ICU to rapidly reinforce suspicion of COVID-19 etiology in patients with acute respiratory failure awaiting for PCR results for definitive diagnosis.
To better understand the neuropathophysiology of overactive bladder (OAB) in women by characterising supraspinal activity in response to bladder distention and cold stimulation.
We recruited 24 female participants, 12 with OAB (median [interquartile range, IQR] age 40[32-42]years) and 12 healthy controls (HCs) without lower urinary tract (LUT) symptoms (median [IQR] age 34[28-44]years), and assessed LUT and cognitive function through neuro-urological examination, 3-day bladder diary, urodynamic investigation, and questionnaires. Functional magnetic resonance (MR) imaging using a 3-T scanner was performed in all participants during automated, repetitive bladder filling and draining (block design) with 100mL body temperature (37°C) saline using a MR-compatible and MR-synchronised infusion-drainage device until strong desire to void (HIGH-FILLING/DRAINING) and bladder filling with cold saline (4°C, i.e. COLD). Whole-brain and region-of-interest analyses were conducted using Statistical Parametric Mapping, version 12.
