Currently, positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT)-based Ann Arbor and Lugano staging systems are widely applied for gastric lymphoma, which majorly focused on the extent of systemic invasion, but there is insufficient assessment in extent of gastric wall invasion. Thus, we aimed to assess the value of linear-array EUS in therapeutic response and prognosis prediction, and provide an endoscopic ultrasound (EUS)-based staging system for gastric lymphoma.
Between January 2012 and October 2019, 191 patients with histologically confirmed gastric lymphoma were included. We analyzed patients' clinicopathologic data, white-light appearance, EUS staging, tumor extension, and therapeutic regime to identify the predictors for complete remission (CR) and progression-free survival (PFS).
With a median follow-up period of 547days, 136 patients achieved CR. Multivariate regression analysis identified EUS T stage three CR predictors, including T stage (T2-T4 vs. T1, OR=0.271, 95% confidence interval (CI)=0.108-0.683, P=0.0085) was the independent predictor. The Ki67 index, lesion surface, EUS stage, tumor extension, and regime predicted PFS, but tumor extension was the only independent predictor (local vs. system, OR=6.005, 95%CI=2.365-15.236, P<0.001). The concordance index (C-index) was higher for CR rate in the EUS-based staging [0.673; 95% CI=0.628-0.718] than Lugano staging [0.663; 95% CI 0.616-0.710], and for PFS in the EUS-based staging [0.694; 95% CI 0.586-0.802] than Lugano staging [0.684; 95% CI 0.564-0.804].

The French mineralogist Des Cloizeaux went to Iceland separately and joined the expedition. The eudiometer invented by Bunsen was crucial for his accurate characterization of volcanic gases and determination of the composition of mixtures. His analyses of the chemical compositions of numerous rocks and minerals led him to the classification of two fundamental rock types, the more silica rich (nowadays called felsic) and the less silica rich, more basic (mafic) in agreement with Des Cloizeaux and the Danish scientist J. He disagreed vehemently with Waltershausen over the mechanisms of formation of sal ammoniac and of volcanic rocks and their chemical compositions. He revealed himself as an ardent experimentalist vigorously opposed to hypotheses of any kind, which also made him dismiss the new chemical theories, for example, those of Dumas and Kekulé.Linguistic category learning has been shown to be highly sensitive to linear order, and depending on the task, differentially sensitive to the information provided by preceding category markers (premarkers, e.g., gendered articles) or succeeding category markers (postmarkers, e.g., gendered suffixes). Given that numerous systems for marking grammatical categories exist in natural languages, it follows that a better understanding of these findings can shed light on the factors underlying this diversity. In two discriminative learning simulations and an artificial language learning experiment, we identify two factors that modulate linear order effects in linguistic category learning category structure and the level of abstraction in a category hierarchy. Regarding category structure, we find that postmarking brings an advantage for learning category diagnostic stimulus dimensions, an effect not present when categories are non-confusable. Regarding levels of abstraction, we find that premarking of super-ordinate categories (e.g., noun class) facilitates learning of subordinate categories (e.g., nouns). We present detailed simulations using a plausible candidate mechanism for the observed effects, along with a comprehensive analysis of linear order effects within an expectation-based account of learning. Our findings indicate that linguistic category learning is differentially guided by pre- and postmarking, and that the influence of each is modulated by the specific characteristics of a given category system.

Anemone neurotoxin 2 (ATX-II, here named only ATX) was used to enhance INaL in mice left ventricular myocytes (LVM). A video detector system monitored sarcomere shortening. At 1 Hz, amiodarone attenuated sarcomere shortening only at 10 µmol/L; at 3 and 5 Hz, 0.1 and 1 µmol/L amiodarone also reduced sarcomere shortening. However, no effect of amiodarone was observed on time to 50% of sarcomere contraction and relaxation. In LVM exposed to ATX (10 nmol/L), an arrhythmic phenotype was observed, and it was more severe when cells were paced at 1 Hz. Amiodarone failed to reverse the ATX induced phenotype at different pacing frequencies.
