In this study, a novel piezoelectric energy harvester (PEH) based on the array composite spherical particle chain was constructed and explored in detail through simulation and experimental verification. The power test of the PEH based on array composite particle chains in the self-powered system was realized. Firstly, the model of PEH based on the composite spherical particle chain was constructed to theoretically realize the collection, transformation, and storage of impact energy, and the advantages of a composite particle chain in the field of piezoelectric energy harvesting were verified. Secondly, an experimental system was established to test the performance of the PEH, including the stability of the system under a continuous impact load, the power adjustment under different resistances, and the influence of the number of particle chains on the energy harvesting efficiency. Finally, a self-powered supply system was established with the PEH composed of three composite particle chains to realize the power supply of the microelectronic components. This paper presents a method of collecting impact energy based on particle chain structure, and lays an experimental foundation for the application of a composite particle chain in the field of piezoelectric energy harvesting.A set of three commercial zeolites (13X, 5A, and 4A) of two distinct shapes have been characterized (i) pure zeolite powders and (ii) extruded spherical beads composed of pure zeolite powders and an unknown amount of binder used during their preparation process. The coupling of gas porosimetry experiments using argon at 87 K and CO2 at 273 K allowed determining both the amount of the binder and its effect on adsorption properties. It was evidenced that the beads contain approximately 25 wt% of binder. Moreover, from CO2 adsorption experiments at 273 K, it could be inferred that the binder present in both 13X and 5A zeolites does not interact with the probe molecule. However, for the 4A zeolite, pore filling pressures were shifted and strong interaction with CO2 was observed leading to irreversible adsorption of the probe. These results have been compared to XRD, IR spectroscopy, and ICP-AES analysis. The effect of the binder in shaped zeolite bodies can thus have a crucial impact on applications in adsorption and catalysis. In this paper, two-phase pressure drop data were obtained for boiling in horizontal rectangular microchannels with a hydraulic diameter of 0.55 mm for R-134a over mass velocities from 790 to 1122 kg/(m2·s), heat fluxes from 0 to 31.08 kW/m2 and vapor qualities from 0 to 0.25. The experimental results show that the Chisholm parameter in the separated flow model relies heavily on the vapor quality, especially in the low vapor quality region (from 0 to 0.1), where the two-phase flow pattern is mainly bubbly and slug flow. Then, the measured pressure drop data are compared with those from six separated flow models. Based on the comparison result, the superficial gas flux jg is introduced in this paper to consider the comprehensive influence of mass velocity and vapor quality on two-phase flow pressure drop, and a new equation for the Chisholm parameter in the separated flow model is proposed as a function of the superficial gas flux jg. The mean absolute error (MAE) of the new flow correlation is 16.82%, which is significantly lower than the other correlations. Moreover, the applicability of the new expression has been verified by the experimental data in other literatures.
Malnutrition places a heavy burden on the health, well-being, and sustainable development of populations in Sudan, especially a country affected by conflict, which continues to experience high levels of food insecurity, undernutrition, and micronutrient deficiencies; 3.3 million are acutely malnourished, with 522,000 children suffering from severe acute malnutrition and approximately 2.2 million children requiring treatment for moderate acute malnutrition. This study aims to describe the nutritional status of children under five years old and identify the progress toward the achievement of the Global Nutrition Targets.
This is a secondary data analysis of a quantitative survey, using the second-round of the Simple Spatial Survey Method (S3M II) in Sudan in the period 2018-2019. The analysis used an area-based sampling methodology in all 18 Sudanese states. Data from the WHO Tracking Tools of the Global Nutrition Targets was used to reflect the progress in achieving the targets in Sudan.

Avasimibe solubility dmso Sudan has made great progress in achieving the target of increasing exclusive breastfeeding. However, despite the welcome commitments by the Government and all stakeholders, Sudan is still struggling to implement strategies, policies, and regulatory measures to address malnutrition and achieve the Global Nutrition Targets in 2025 and the Sustainable Developmental Goals in 2030. Therefore, more than ever, there is a need for comprehensive, multi-sectoral action to address malnutrition in all its forms.Empirical correlations for mass transfer coefficient and friction factor are often used in process models for reverse osmosis (RO) membrane systems. These usually involve four dimensionless groups, namely Reynolds number (Re), Sherwood number (Sh), friction factor (f), and Schmidt number (Sc), with the associated coefficients and exponents being obtained by fitting to experimental data. However, the range of geometric and operating conditions covered by the experiments is often limited. In this study, new dimensionless correlations for concentration polarization (CP) modulus and friction factor are presented, which are obtained by dimensional analysis and using simulation data from computational fluid dynamics (CFD). Two-dimensional CFD simulations are performed on three configurations of spacer-filled channels with 76 combinations of operating and geometric conditions for each configuration, covering a broad range of conditions encountered in RO membrane systems. Results obtained with the new correlations are compared with those from existing correlations in the literature.
