A polar coding scheme is proposed for the Wiretap Broadcast Channel with two legitimate receivers and one eavesdropper. We consider a model in which the transmitter wishes to send the same private (non-confidential) message and the same confidential message reliably to two different legitimate receivers, and the confidential message must also be (strongly) secured from the eavesdropper. The coding scheme aims to use the optimal rate of randomness and does not make any assumption regarding the symmetry or degradedness of the channel. This paper extends previous work on polar codes for the wiretap channel by proposing a new chaining construction that allows to reliably and securely send the same confidential message to two different receivers. This construction introduces new dependencies between the random variables involved in the coding scheme that need to be considered in the secrecy analysis.A field experiment was conducted to investigate the combined application effects of fly ash (FA) (0, 5%, 10%, and 15% (w/w) soil) and polyacrylamide (PAM) (0, 0.006% and 0.012% (w/w) soil) on the edge of Hobq Desert in Inner Mongolia, China from May 2016 to October 2018. Seven different ratios of FA and PAM were selected as evaluation objects, a total of 14 soil property indices and 9 Artemisia ordosica growth indices were selected as evaluation indicators, and the entropy weight method was employed to evaluate the soil physicochemical properties and vegetation growth performances under FA and PAM amendments. The results showed that the F15P1 (15% FA + 0.006% PAM) and F5P1 (5% FA + 0.006% PAM) were the effective treatments for soil improvement and Artemisia ordosica growth respectively. Considering the soil properties and Artemisia ordosica growth in 2016-2018 synthetically, the highest score was observed in the F5P1, followed by the F5P2 (5% FA + 0.012% PAM) and F10P1 (10% FA + 0.006% PAM) treatments. The optimal amounts for FA and PAM should be recommended as 5% and 0.006%, respectively.In this paper, quantum discords in a special kind of states, i.e., Werner states by local quantum operations and classical communication (LQCC) protocols (WLQCC states), are studied. Nineteen parameters to quantify the quantum discords are reduced to four parameters in terms of properties of Werner states and quantum discord. In the case of orthogonal projective measures, analytic expression of quantum discords in WLQCC states is analytically worked out. Some properties of the quantum discord in the WLQCC states are obtained, especially the variation relations between the quantum discords and the parameters characterizing the WLQCC states. By virtue of numerical computations, quantum discords in a Werner state before and after LQCC protocols are compared. It is found that quantum discord in any WLQCC state cannot exceed that in the original Werner state.To compose art, artists rely on a set of sensory evaluations performed fluently by the brain. The outcome of these evaluations, which we call neuroaesthetic variables, helps to compose art with high aesthetic value. In this study, we probed whether these variables varied across art periods despite relatively unvaried neural function. We measured several neuroaesthetic variables in portrait paintings from the Early and High Renaissance, and from Mannerism. The variables included symmetry, balance, and contrast (chiaroscuro), as well as intensity and spatial complexities measured by two forms of normalized entropy. The results showed that the degree of symmetry remained relatively constant during the Renaissance. However, the balance of portraits decayed abruptly at the end of the Early Renaissance, that is, at the closing of the 15th century. Intensity and spatial complexities, and thus entropies, of portraits also fell in such manner around the same time. Our data also showed that the decline of complexity and entropy could be attributed to the rise of chiaroscuro. With few exceptions, the values of aesthetic variables from the top of artists of the Renaissance resembled those of their peers. We conclude that neuroaesthetic variables have flexibility to change in brains of artists (and observers).Data hiding is the art of embedding data into a cover image without any perceptual distortion of the cover image. As a proof-of-concept, we apply CLQP to verify the correctness of Deutsch's algorithm and the concealing property of quantum bit commitment.In this paper, the structural characteristics of a W-Ta-Mo-Nb-V-Cr-Zr-Ti non-equiatomic refractory metal alloy obtained by spark plasma sintering (SPS) of a high-energy ball-milled powder mixture are reported. High-energy ball milling resulted in the formation of particle agglomerates ranging from several tens to several hundreds of micrometers. These agglomerates were composed of micrometer and submicrometer particles. It was found that, during ball milling, a solid solution of A2 structure formed. The grains of the sintered material ranged from fractions of a micrometer to several micrometers. During SPS, the phase transformations in the alloy led to the formation of a Laves phase of C15 structure and ZrO and ZrO2 nanoparticles. The microhardness of the ball-milled alloy and sintered material was found to be 9.28 GPa ± 1.31 GPa and 8.95 GPa ± 0.42 GPa, respectively. The influence of the processing conditions on the structure, phase composition, and microhardness of the alloy is discussed.
