[This corrects the article DOI 10.1136/gpsych-2019-100109.].Background Cyberbullying is presently an alarming problem worldwide due to its impact on the emotions, behaviour and psychological well-being of not only the victims, but the bullies themselves and also bystanders. Aim This study aims to investigate bystanders' behaviours in cyberbullying and associated factors. Methods This research is a cross-sectional study of 578 secondary school students in Bangkok, Thailand. Simple random sampling was used to select four secondary schools. Data were collected through online questionnaires which included four sections (1) demographic data, (2) bystanders' behaviour in cyberbullying (cyberbullying experience and attitude towards cyberbullying were included in this section), (3) parental attachment (Inventory of Parent Attachment-Revised), and (4) self-esteem (Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale-Revised). Results It was found that most occurrences of bystanders' behaviour were (a) willing to intervene or help victims (34.6%), (b) ignoring the cyberbullying (28%) or (c) partaking in cyberbullying (26.3%). Participants who either were victims of cyberbullying or knew of cyberbullying happening to friends or relatives and had high parental attachment would intervene more than those who never had such experiences. Participants who knew of cyberbullying happening to the general public had tendencies towards ignoring the cyberbullying. Participants who indicated they were bullies and had positive attitude towards joining in tended to partake in the cyberbullying more than those who were not. Conclusion Factors relating to the behaviours of bystanders in cyberbullying should be further explored to provide support in the discouragement of ignoring and averting participation in cyberbullying. Secure parental attachment is one important factor that should be instilled during childhood years.Psoriasis is a chronic, immune mediated, systemic inflammatory skin disease with a reported prevalence of 0.6%-4.8% in the general population. Bipolar disorder (BP) is a severe episodic psychiatric disorder that ranks as the fourth leading cause of disability. Recent evidence suggests that genetic and immunological factors play a significant role in the development of both disorders. Studies have also shown a higher association of psychiatric disorders among patients with psoriasis. Moreover, several autoimmune comorbidities have been reported in association with BP. Here, we describe a young woman with BP who developed psoriasis after 1 year of developing BP and showed exacerbations in psoriasis lesions with each manic episode. We also highlight the safe and efficacious use of apremilast for psoriatic lesions in the woman.Purpose To investigate the use of software-generated corrections in neutralizing perceived distortions in age-related macular degeneration. Methods A tablet-based application was utilized to elicit distortions. Five subjects (seven eyes neovascular age-related macular degeneration and three eyes non-neovascular age-related macular degeneration) traced the reference lines, and their distortion traces were recorded. To counter distortion, a software-generated trace was re-traced by subjects to produce a corrected trace. Final traces were superimposed on optical coherence tomography images and following distances calculated (a) dDT distance between distortion trace and reference line; (b) dGT distance between software-generated trace and corrected trace; (c) dCT distance between corrected trace and reference line. Mean percent improvement in distortion was reported. Mean effectiveness of correction was also reported by utilizing t test to compare dDT and dCT. The number of distortion traces with underlying lesions on optical coherence tomography was also analyzed. Results Mean age of the subjects was 76.6 (±9.5) years. Each patient traced six reference lines and each was considered a separate case. Out of 30 cases, 17 (56.6%) elicited distortion. Mean percent improvement in distortion was 71.3 ± 23% (p less then 0.05). Twelve cases (70.6%) had an underlying lesion (eight cases disrupted photoreceptor layer and four cases normal photoreceptor layer). Mean percent improvement in cases with normal photoreceptor layer (90.8 ± 5.45%) was higher than with abnormal photoreceptor layer (58.5 ± 7.17%) (p less then 0.05). Five cases with distortion had no associated underlying lesion. Mean percent improvement in these subjects was significantly higher than those with photoreceptor layer disruption. Conclusion Software-generated corrections can potentially correct for perceived distortions in patients with age-related macular degeneration, especially in cases with preserved photoreceptor layer.Advances in multimodal imaging have significantly contributed to the management of many uveitis diseases in recent years. Transmembrane Transporters inhibitor The most significant developments include the use of optical coherence tomography to obtain a more accurate and reproducible assessment of ocular inflammation, the application of optical coherence tomography angiography in choroiditis and retinal vasculitis, new possibilities for studying vitritis with ultrawide field imaging, and the most recent applications of fundus autofluorescence in uveitis. In this review, we provide an overview of the most significant advances in multimodal imaging of uveitis achieved in recent years.Chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell immunotherapy has achieved unprecedented efficacy in the treatment of chemotherapy-resistant or refractory B-cell malignancies. Promising results from pivotal anti-CD19 CAR T-cell phase II trials have led to landmark approvals of two CD19-specific CAR T-cell products by the United States Food and Drug Administration and European Medicines Agency. However, several issues associated with CAR T-cell treatment remain unresolved, such as the management of severe toxicities and the frequent occurrence of both antigen-positive and antigen-negative relapse. Nonetheless, pre-clinical research is advancing at an unprecedented pace to develop innovative solutions to address these issues. Herein, we summarise recent clinical developments and outcomes of CD19-targeted CAR T-cell immunotherapy and discuss emerging strategies that may further improve the success, safety and broadened applicability of this approach.
