Phyto, or plant-derived metal nanoparticles, are an interesting and intensive studied group of green synthesized nanoparticles. In the last decade, numerous medicinal plant extracts were used for the synthesis of stable gold or silver nanoparticles with diverse biological effects, such as antioxidant activity, antimicrobial activity, anti-inflammatory activity, hypoglycemic effect, antitumor activity and catalytic activity.
This review has systematized and discussed information from the last 5 years about the research regarding antitumor/anticancer potential of gold nanoparticles obtained via medicinal plant extracts, with special attention on their selective cytotoxicity on tumor cells and on their mechanism of action, in vitro and in vivo assessments.
Much more in vivo and clinical studies are needed before considering phyto-synthesized gold nanoparticles as significant for future medicine.

Niosomes are a vesicular carrier system comprised of a Nonionic surfactant bilayer surrounding an aqueous compartment. Niosomes are presumed to raise the intake of the poorly water-soluble drugs by M cells of Peyer's patches present in the intestine's lymphatic tissues, thereby avoiding the first-pass metabolism and increasing its oral bioavailability. Biodegradability, nonimmunogenic nature, minimal side effects, low cost, good stability, and flexibility to incorporate hydrophilic and lipophilic drugs are other advantages of niosomes.
To formulate and evaluate a novel vesicular carrier system of a poorly soluble drug Lurasidone hydrochloride for the enhancement of its solubility and bioavailability.
The thin-film hydration technique used to prepare Lurasidone hydrochloride loaded niosomes using different grades of nonionic surfactants like Brij, Span, and Tween. They evaluated for particle size, zeta potential, percent entrapment efficiency, in-vitro drug release, and in-vivo study.
Niosomes comprised of Brij S-100 in drug cholesterol surfactant (111) showed particle size (1.15 ± 0.21 μm) and percent entrapment efficiency (97.02 ± 0.21%) and was selected for further studies. Various pharmacokinetic parameters like C
(281.27ng/ml), T
(5 h), and AUC (2640.197) were found to be significantly improved compared to plain drug solution.
The Niosomal formulation could be the promising drug delivery system for the controlled and sustained release of Lurasidone.
The Niosomal formulation could be the promising drug delivery system for the controlled and sustained release of Lurasidone.Current Development in drug delivery system has been employed with an endeavour to enhance the bioavailability of the drug, mask its taste, induce the rapid onset of action and improve patient compliance. An alternative approach to the conventional dosage form is being employed to triumph over all these issues named as Orodispersible system. Over the past three decades, this novel dosage form has gained considerable attention as compared to other conventional solid dosage forms such as tablets and capsules. ODTs dissolve or disintegrate within a few seconds or a minute when put on the tongue, without the need for water. ODT has an advantageous effect on paediatrics and geriatrics patients with dysphagia. Over the last decade, widespread advances in the formulation of ODTs have been executed in academia and industry that resulted in the emergence of a large number of patents. Products developed from ODT mechanics launched in the market in the 1980s have grown bit by bit in demand and their products are rapidly escalating. Expanding in the technology forum based on industrialization, these systems include the use of lyophilization, cotton candy, sublimation, melt extrusion and direct compression in addition to the conventional wet granulation processes and patent techniques. The present study focused on non-patent and patent citations concerning ODT along with active ingredients, techniques used and results of the innovations.Coccidiomycosis immitis is a fungal infection that is a rare cause of prosthetic joint infection (PJI) in patients. This case report describes an immunocompetent patient who had a right total hip arthroplasty (THA) complicated with Coccidiomycosis immitis. This patient is the 9th reported case of Coccidiomycosis immitis causing a PJI and only the second case to be reported in a THA. Once progressed, it can be difficult to treat, often reoccurring and requiring repeat sur-gical and prolonged therapy. We discuss the clinical presentation in this patient and review the literature on the current pub-lished cases.Evidence on the treatment strategies for the child population with critical conditions due to COVID-19 is scarce and lacks consensus. Thus, this study aimed to critically review non-pharmacological respiratory strategies for this population. Original studies were searched in six databases considering predefined inclusion criteria. Other studies and recommendations were also included after a manual search. Oxygen therapy, invasive (IMV) and non-invasive (NIV) ventilation were the most frequently addressed interventions. In general, the original studies have cited these strategies, but detailed information on the parameters used was not provided. find more The recommendations provided more detailed data, mainly based on experiences with other acute respiratory syndromes in childhood. In the context of oxygen therapy, the nasal catheter was the most recommended strategy for hypoxemia, followed by the high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC). However, the risks of contamination due to the dispersion of aerosols in the case of the HFNC were pointed out. Lung protective IMV with the use of bacteriological or viral filters was recommended in most documents, and there was great variation in PEEP titration. Alveolar recruitment maneuvers were mentioned in a few recommendations. NIV was not consensual among studies, and when selected, several precautions must be taken to avoid contamination. Airway suctioning with a closed-circuit was recommended to reduce aerosol spread. Information on prone positioning and physiotherapy was even more scarce. In conclusion, oxygen therapy seems to be essential in the treatment of hypoxemia. If necessary, IMV should not be delayed, and protective strategies are encouraged for adequate pulmonary ventilation. Information about techniques that are adjuvant to ventilatory support is superficial and requires further investigation.
