It was a dark and silent night; so silent that a penny dropping on the ground could rupture his eardrums; so dark that he could hardly count with his fingers after a good period of time outside. 5 minutes had passed since he stepped into the cold darkness, and finally he caught a glimpse of the light he long sought for. More specifically, he finally saw the place where the light led him to.
He came face to face with the light; his eyes, adjusting to the sudden spike of energy rushing in. He could feel it. He knew it was nearby. The barrier slid to the side as if it was creating a new path for the young man. He went inside the light. He was ready. He went over this multiple times. Inside the light, a man greeted him with a smile that looked so genuine that it gave him the creeps. He quickly passed by him and the gimmicks all around him.
The young man went to the back and immediately felt a chill up his back. He traced where the cold came from and concluded that it must had been the box with blue screens that show cased a variety of "collections" he could not pronounce.
"Didn't I just came by this section of the damn place?", the young man thought to himself, "though I can feel this place being small it sure does a good job generating this maze." He walked impatiently, faster and faster as the moment went by. He felt the strain rushing into his veins. He felt the slight despair from all the maze is trying to do to him. There's also those eyes. The smile. It's like they followed him around the place, in this light that's so very warm but uncomfortable somehow.
It was the last straw. He went up to those eyes and asked aggressively for the thing.
"The thing you are looking for is right behind you, good sir."
With one fell swoop, he grabbed it and threw some paper towards the smile like the instruction said. "I came prepared this time," the young man thought to himself, "you will not catch me off guard ever again as long as I stand."
Unfortunately, it did not went as well as he imagined. The smile got bigger. He sensed it. It was growing at a rate he could not had possibly imagined.
"Run !"
That was the only option. The smile frowned. The eyes, the smile, started to remove themselves from the light as if they are trying to show their true forms. The young man looked back for just a fraction of a second, just a insanely short amount of time, and that frame that he caught with his eyes was one that he would never forget for the rest of his life. He saw the eyes, the smile, and a pair of hands. The hands. They looked like the pair of hands you could never escape from once you got trapped by it. The hands were coming at him like a cage, moments away from forever sealing the bird inside. Those hands felt like it was controlling your every move, carefully moving your wheel of fortune. On the hands, there were these, silver looking circles. Heavy, was the first word that came into his head. "It could crush me in an instant if I'm not careful." Is this a new weapon the light controls?
He did not give it too much of a thought as he used up every ounce of energy his medium sized body could possibly provide, just to step out of the light. The door looked so close but yet so far away. He could already felt the hands reaching his neck. "One more step ! Please please PLEASE !"
Suddenly, an unstable force came from the bottom of his feet. It was a familiar feeling. The reaction provided the young man the last push that he needed, and successfully pushed him out of the light with the price of having the young man to keep himself low to the ground.
He's out.
The young man, finally out of the light, felt a moment of relieve. It did not stop him from running though. Neither did the escaping stopped the hands, the smile, or the eyes. As soon as they came out from the light they merged into one. They were huge. Instinctively, the young man continued escaping after holding himself together from the ground. The fear was too much. Had he not escape from the light, he would had stopped breathing from the pressure the light applied on him.
Back to the cruel darkness again. The light, the smile, the eyes, and most importantly the hands; they stopped. They gave up chasing, trying to reap away what little the young man had left. He gazed at the starry sky with the new moon staring back at him. A sigh of relief and a smile of victory came from the young man, followed by a sour expression.
"That was too close of an escape," the young man looked away, "next time for sure.."
"Next time I will more than just a beef jerky."

And that's my exciting adventure of going to 7/11.
