Research on personality and psychopathology associations has informed the classification of many symptom dimensions within the Hierarchical Taxonomy of Psychopathology (HiTOP). However, classification of symptom dimensions defining autism and attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) within the HiTOP framework remains unclear in many ways. To address this issue, we examined the joint factor structure of (a) measures assessing characteristics relevant to ADHD and autism and (b) normal range personality traits in a sample of 547 adults recruited from Amazon Mechanical Turk, many of whom reported elevated autism-relevant and ADHD-relevant characteristics. We also examined how factors identified in these analyses correlated with measures of internalizing symptoms and select externalizing traits. Our results indicated that some measures assessing autism-relevant and ADHD-relevant characteristics (e.g. communication issues, hyperactivity/impulsivity) defined a distinct Attention and Communication Difficulties factor, with scores on this factor correlating strongly with internalizing symptom ratings. However, other relevant characteristics such as aloofness may be indicators of existing HiTOP spectra such as detachment. We discuss how these findings inform classification of autism-relevant and ADHD-relevant characteristics within the HiTOP, as well as key future directions for extending the limited research in this area. The complement system plays a pivotal role in the pathogenesis of ischemia-reperfusion injury in solid organ transplantation. Mirococept is a potent membrane-localizing complement inhibitor that can be administered ex vivo to the donor kidney prior to transplantation. To evaluate the efficacy of Mirococept in reducing delayed graft function (DGF) in deceased donor renal transplantation, we undertook the efficacy of mirococept (APT070) for preventing ischaemia-reperfusion injury in the kidney allograft (EMPIRIKAL) trial (ISRCTN49958194). A dose range of 5-25 mg would be tested, starting with 10 mg in cohort 1. No significant difference between Mirococept at 10 mg and control was detected; hence the study was stopped to enable a further dose saturation study in a porcine kidney model. The optimal dose of Mirococept in pig kidney was 80 mg. This dose did not induce any additional histological damage compared to controls or after a subsequent 3 hours of normothermic machine perfusion. The amount of unbound Mirococept postperfusion was found to be within the systemic dose range considered safe in the Phase I trial. The ex vivo administration of Mirococept is a safe and feasible approach to treat DGF in deceased donor kidney transplantation. The porcine kidney study identified an optimal dose of 80 mg (equivalent to 120 mg in human kidney) that provides a basis for further clinical development.
Parents play a key role in shaping children's eating behaviours and self-regulation. There is limited data on how maternal weight influences feeding practices in the first year of life.
To examine the relationships between maternal BMI, feeding practices and infant eating behaviours related to self-regulation.
Participants were 160 mother-infant dyads. A longitudinal design was used to examine concurrent and prospective associations between maternal 6-month postpartum BMI, mothers' feeding practices at 6 months (Infant Feeding Practices Questionnaire) and children's eating behaviours at 6 months (Baby Eating Behaviour Questionnaire) and 12 months (Child Eating Behaviour Questionnaire).
Higher maternal BMI was associated positively with mothers' use of restrictive feeding practices (β = 0.036, p = 0.033), and inversely with responsivity to infant satiety cues (Spearman partial r = -0.249, p = 0.002) at 6 months. Mother's restrictive feeding practices were associated with infant food responsiveness (β = 0.157, p = 0.009) and emotional overeating (β = 0.118, p = 0.005) at 12 months. Maternal use of responsive feeding practices was associated with lower infant food responsiveness at 6 months (Spearman partial r = -0.173, p = 0.031) and lower emotional overeating at 12 months (Spearman partial r = -0.183, p = 0.022).
Our findings add to studies suggesting that feeding practices can provide mechanistic pathways in the intergenerational transmission of obesity. Postpartum family-system approaches focusing on maternal health while integrating infant feeding guidance may confer benefits in improving maternal-child health.

A high proportion of people living with HIV (PLHIV) present for care with advanced HIV disease (AHD), which is detrimental to "90-90-90" targets to end AIDS by 2030. CAY10603 This study aimed to explore the prevalence of and factors related to AHD among newly diagnosed PLHIV in Guangdong Province, China.
Newly diagnosed PLHIV were recruited from six cities in Guangdong Province from May 2018 to June 2019. AHD was defined as an initial CD4 count <200cells/µL or an AIDS-defining event within one month of HIV diagnosis. Data from a questionnaire and the national HIV surveillance system were used to explore the potential factors related AHD.
A total of 400 of 997 newly diagnosed PLHIV were defined as having AHD with a proportion of 40.1%. After adjusting for statistically significant variables in univariate analysis, multivariable logistic regressions showed that individuals aged 30 to 39years (adjusted odds ratio (aOR)=1.77, 95% confidence interval (CI) 1.13 to 2.79) and ≥50years (aOR=1.98, 95% CI 1.15 to 3.43) g programmes to scale up HIV testing through provider-initiated testing and counselling in medical facilities and VCT could facilitate early HIV diagnosis.
Low-risk perception and a lack of awareness of HIV-related symptoms resulted in a high proportion of AHD in Guangdong Province, especially among the elderly, those diagnosed at medical facilities and those with low social support. Strengthening AIDS education and training programmes to scale up HIV testing through provider-initiated testing and counselling in medical facilities and VCT could facilitate early HIV diagnosis.
