Re-addition also influences the stabilization of the structure.Action recognition algorithms are widely used in the fields of medical health and pedestrian dead reckoning (PDR). The classification and recognition of non-normal walking actions and normal walking actions are very important for improving the accuracy of medical health indicators and PDR steps. Existing motion recognition algorithms focus on the recognition of normal walking actions, and the recognition of non-normal walking actions common to daily life is incomplete or inaccurate, resulting in a low overall recognition accuracy. This paper proposes a microelectromechanical system (MEMS) action recognition method based on Relief-F feature selection and relief-bagging-support vector machine (SVM). Feature selection using the Relief-F algorithm reduces the dimensions by 16 and reduces the optimization time by an average of 9.55 s. Experiments show that the improved algorithm for identifying non-normal walking actions has an accuracy of 96.63%; compared with Decision Tree (DT), it increased by 11.63%; compared with k-nearest neighbor (KNN), it increased by 26.62%; and compared with random forest (RF), it increased by 11.63%. The average Area Under Curve (AUC) of the improved algorithm improved by 0.1143 compared to KNN, by 0.0235 compared to DT, and by 0.04 compared to RF.The development of reliable structural health monitoring techniques is enabling a healthy transition from preventive to condition-based maintenance, hence leading to safer and more efficient operation of different industries. Ultrasonic guided-wave based beamforming is one of the most promising techniques, which supports the monitoring of large thin-walled structures. However, beamforming has been typically applied to the post-processing stage (also known as virtual or receiver beamforming) because transmission or physical beamforming requires complex hardware configurations. This paper introduces an electronic structural health monitoring system that carries out transmission beamforming experiments by simultaneously emitting and receiving ultrasonic guided-waves using several transducers. An empirical characterization of the transmission beamforming technique for monitoring an aluminum plate is provided in this work. The high signal-to-noise ratio and accurate angular precision of the physical signal obtained in the experiments suggest that transmission beamforming can increase the reliability and robustnessof this monitoring technique for large structures and in real-world noisy environments.We investigated fosfomycin susceptibility in Escherichia coli clinical isolates from South Korea, including community-onset, hospital-onset, and long-term care facility (LTCF)-onset isolates. The resistance mechanisms and genotypes of fosfomycin-resistant isolates were also identified. Finally, the in vitro efficacy of combinations of fosfomycin with other antibiotics were examined in susceptible or extended spectrum β-lactamase (ESBL)-producing E. coli isolates. The fosfomycin resistance rate was 6.7% and was significantly higher in LTCF-onset isolates than community-onset and hospital-onset isolates. Twenty-one sequence types (STs) were identified among 19 fosfomycin-resistant E. coli isolates, showing diverse genotypes. fosA3 was found in only two isolates, and diverse genetic variations were identified in three genes associated with fosfomycin resistance, namely, GlpT, UhpT, and MurA. In vitro time-kill assays showed that fosfomycin alone did not exhibit an excellent killing activity, compared with ciprofloxacin in susceptible isolates and with ertapenem in ESBL producers. However, combining fosfomycin with cefixime or piperacillin-tazobactam eradicated susceptible or ESBL-producing isolates, respectively, even with 0.5× minimum inhibitory concentrations. Overall, we found a relatively high fosfomycin resistance rate in E. coli isolates from South Korea. Based on their genotypes and resistance mechanisms, most of the fosfomycin-resistant E. coli isolates might occur independently. Antibiotic combinations with fosfomycin could be a suitable therapeutic option for infections caused by E. coli isolates.The increasing capability of computing power and mobile graphics has made possible the release of self-contained augmented reality (AR) headsets featuring efficient head-anchored tracking solutions. Ego motion estimation based on well-established infrared tracking of markers ensures sufficient accuracy and robustness. Unfortunately, wearable visible-light stereo cameras with short baseline and operating under uncontrolled lighting conditions suffer from tracking failures and ambiguities in pose estimation. To improve the accuracy of optical self-tracking and its resiliency to marker occlusions, degraded camera calibrations, and inconsistent lighting, in this work we propose a sensor fusion approach based on Kalman filtering that integrates optical tracking data with inertial tracking data when computing motion correlation. In order to measure improvements in AR overlay accuracy, experiments are performed with a custom-made AR headset designed for supporting complex manual tasks performed under direct vision. Experimental results show that the proposed solution improves the head-mounted display (HMD) tracking accuracy by one third and improves the robustness by also capturing the orientation of the target scene when some of the markers are occluded and when the optical tracking yields unstable and/or ambiguous results due to the limitations of using head-anchored stereo tracking cameras under uncontrollable lighting conditions.The accuracy of fingerprinting-based indoor localization correlates with the quality and up-to-dateness of collected training data. Perpetual crowdsourced data collection reduces manual labeling effort and provides a fresh data base. However, the decentralized collection comes with the cost of heterogeneous data that causes performance degradation. In settings with imperfect data, area localization can provide higher positioning guarantees than exact position estimation. Existing area localization solutions employ a static segmentation into areas that is independent of the available training data. This approach is not applicable for crowdsoucred data collection, which features an unbalanced spatial training data distribution that evolves over time. A segmentation is required that utilizes the existing training data distribution and adapts once new data is accumulated. We propose an algorithm for data-aware floor plan segmentation and a selection metric that balances expressiveness (information gain) and performance (correctly classified examples) of area classifiers.
