ions and abscesses influence the outcome of REP. These factors must be taken into consideration during treatment planning. The aim of this investigation was to evaluate the use of ripe mango as a source of energy in an integral diet consisting of regional products for fattening lambs. Twenty-seven Creole lambs were used and given a 10-day period to adapt to the diet. Three treatments were evaluated T1 = 40% mango; T2 = 50% mango; and T3 = control diet. In the in vitro analysis, partial and accumulated production of biogas and methane, degradation of dry matter, and neutral detergent fiber were determined. In the in vivo analysis, dry matter intake (DMI), daily weight gain (DWG), apparent digestibility of nutrients, and ruminal characteristics were estimated. The experimental design was completely random. The in vitro results helped hypothesize that the diets with low fiber content would not affect potential dry matter intake. With the exception of the protozoa count, ruminal characteristics were not different among diets (p > 0.05). In productive response, T3 was 13.73% higher DMI than T1, which was 32.24% higher than T2. T3 promoted 61.22% more DWG than T1 and T2. T2 displayed better digestibility of dry matter, organic matter, neutral detergent fiber, and crude protein than T3 (p less then 0.05). Fattening lambs fed rations that contain 40% and 50% mango reduces the dry matter intake and daily weight gain relative to the control, although apparent digestibility is higher than for the control diet.Downer cows and variations in the treatment response are of great interest to farmers. Positively responded animals get up at different extended periods after receiving the same treatment protocol. The objective of this study is to determine if there is any association between the duration of recumbency and the level of serum biomarkers. Serum samples from 165 crossbred Holstein dairy cows (105 downer cows of metabolic causes only and 50 healthy) and from 65 cured cows after treatment were used for analysis of calcium (Ca), inorganic phosphorus (P), potassium (K), magnesium (Mg), creatine phosphokinase (CPK), aspartate aminotransferase (AST), alanine aminotransferase (ALT), gamma-glutamyl transferase (GGT), beta-hydroxybutyric acid (BHBA), non-esterified fatty acid (NEFA), and triglycerides (TG). Assessment of diagnostic performance of these biomarkers was performed using analysis of the receiver operating characteristic (ROC). Serum levels of Ca, P, K, and TG decreased significantly (P less then 0.001), while CPK, AST, ALT, BHBA, and NEFA increased significantly (P less then 0.001) in those downers compared with controls. They achieved high diagnostic performance in ROC curve analysis. Interestingly, 65 cows responded after treatment and stood up (cured cases) after a period of recumbency varying from 4 to 15 days and statistics revealed a significant association (P less then 0.05) between those days of recumbency and only serum K levels. GDC-1971 We concluded that only the serum potassium (K) level is a significant predictor of post-treatment recumbency period and that the serum P, CPK, and NEFA levels have the highest diagnostic performance.Intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) prognostication during the acute phase is often subjective among physicians and often affects treatment decisions. The present study explores objective imaging parameters using quantitative corticospinal tract (CST) fiber reconstruction during the acute phase of ICH and correlates these parameters with functional outcome and patient recovery. We prospectively enrolled nonsurgical spontaneous supratentorial ICH patients and obtained an MRI scan on day 5 ± 1. Q-space diffeomorphic reconstruction was performed using DSI Studio, and quantitative anisotropy (QA) was calculated. The CST was reconstructed based on QA. The dichotomized modified Rankin Scale score on day 90 (favorable outcome = 0-2) and Barthel Index (favorable recovery = 100 on day 90 or improvement between discharge and day 90 > 60%) were assessed. Thirty-three patients, median age 72 years (interquartile range (IQR) 64-83), 21 female (64%), 21 (64%) with lobar hemorrhage, median ICH volume on admission 15.0 (IQR 7.0-27.4) mL, were included. Sixteen patients (48%) had a favorable outcome and 24 (73%) had a favorable recovery. The mean number of ipsilesional reconstructed CST fiber pathways was higher in patients with favorable outcomes (153 (standard deviation (SD) 103) vs. 60 (SD 39), p = 0.003) and predicted outcome after adjustment (Exp(B) = 1.016 (95% CI = 1.002-1.030)). QA in the ipsilesional posterior limb of the internal capsule showed a trend towards an association with favorable outcome (Exp(B) = 1.194 (95% CI = 0.991-1.439 (adjusted))). The total (ipsilesional + contralesional) number of reconstructed fiber pathways was associated with favorable recovery (Exp(B) = 1.025 (95% CI = 1.003-1.047 (adjusted))). Quantitative tractography parameters assessed in the acute phase of ICH may represent a promising predictor of long-term outcome and recovery. This might facilitate prognostic evaluation and organization of rehabilitation. Two new 2H-pyran-2-one glucosides, cuscutarosides A (1) and B (2), and one new steroidal glucoside, 7β-methoxy-β-sitosterol 3-O-β-glucopyranoside (3), together with 12 known compounds (4-15) were isolated from the whole plant of Cuscuta reflexa (Convolvulaceae) collected from Myanmar. The chemical structures of these new compounds were elucidated based on extensive spectroscopic analysis. The antiobesity activity of these isolates was evaluated using porcine pancreatic lipase (PPL), and the antiplatelet aggregation activity was screened using rabbit platelets induced by thrombin, platelet-activating factor (PAF), arachidonate (AA), or collagen. 7β-Methoxy-β-sitosterol 3-O-β-glucopyranoside (3) showed weak PPL inhibitory activity. Cuscutaroside A (1), its acetylated derivative (1a), and scrophenoside B (8) showed weak inhibitory activity against rabbit platelet aggregation induced by collagen. Compound 1a also showed inhibitory activity against rabbit platelet aggregation induced by AA.
