Immune cell infiltration is an important indicator of whether tumor patients will benefit from immunotherapy. Gastric cancer is one of the most common tumors in the world, and new indicators of immunotherapy are urgently needed. The aim of this study was to construct ceRNA networks in gastric cancer with different degrees of immune cell infiltration. We analyzed the expression profiles of different gastric cancer with different degrees of immune cell infiltration retrieved from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) database and found differentially expressed lncRNAs, mRNAs, and miRNAs. A ceRNA regulatory network of gastric cancer with different degrees of immune cell infiltration was constructed using functional annotation, RNA-RNA interaction prediction, correlation analysis, survival analysis, and other comprehensive bioinformatics methods. The interaction and correlation between ceRNAs were verified using experiments on tumor tissues and cell lines. Cell line experiments showed a potential RP11-1094M14.8/miR-1269a/CXCL9 axis that was consistent with the ceRNA theory. qRT-PCR results showed that RP11-1094M14.8 knockdown significantly reduced the expression of CXCL9, and RP11-1094M14.8 overexpression had the opposite effect. The results of clinical analysis of gastric cancer samples showed that RP11-1094M14.8 and CXCL9 were highly expressed in hot tumors, and CXCL9 was positively correlated with a better prognosis for patients. The constructed novel ceRNA network and the potential regulatory axis may provide a comprehensive understanding of the potential mechanisms of development in gastric cancer with different degrees of immune cell infiltration. For environment-friendly control of this disease, leaf extract of Azadirachta indica was used for the green synthesis of iron oxide (Fe2 O3 ) nanoparticles. These nanoparticles were characterized before their application for disease control. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) of these synthesized nanoparticles described the presence of stabilizing and reducing compounds like alcohol, phenol, carboxylic acid, and alkaline and aromatic compounds. Nicotinamide Riboside Sirtuin activator X-Ray diffraction (XRD) analysis revealed the crystalline nature and size (24 nm) of these nanoparticles. Energy dispersive X-Ray (EDX) analysis elaborated the presence of major elements in the samples. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) confirmed the spinal shaped morphology of prepared nanoparticles. Successfully synthesized nanoparticles were evaluated for their antifungal potential. Different concentrations of Fe2 O3 nanoparticles were used and maximum mycelial inhibition was observed at 1.0 mg/ml concentration. On the basis of these findings, it could be concluded that Fe2 O3 nanoparticles, synthesized in the leaf extract of A. indica, can be successfully used for the control of brown rot of sweet oranges.

COVID-19 is an infectious disease that has led to a worldwide public health emergency. More than 30,000 cases were confirmed in Brazil, especially in the States of São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Ceará. The capital of the Ceará State is the one with the highest incidence of COVID-19 in Brazil. Estimating the prevalence of the disease and its associated factors is important to offer adequate health care.

A cross-sectional study with secondary data of people notified with flu-like syndrome and COVID-19 test results.

19,967 cases of flu-like syndrome were analysed according to the result of the COVID-19 test. Predictive variables were as follows age range, sex, women in puerperium, presence or absence of cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, haematological illness, immunodeficiencies, neurological diseases, obesity, renal diseases and Down syndrome. Robust Poisson regression models estimated the prevalence ratios of COVID-19. The research was reported via STROBE guidelines for cross-sectional studies.

The prevalence of COVID-19 in the population was 10.37%. In the final model, the following variables were associated with COVID-19 aged people, male sex, cardiovascular diseases and diabetes.

Among the flu-like syndrome cases, COVID-19 prevalence was high. In the Ceará State, clinical factors such as aged people, male sex, cardiovascular diseases and diabetes can enhance the prevalence of COVID-19 by up to 2.57 times.

The identification of factors that are associated with the enhanced prevalence of COVID-19 facilitates early diagnosis, and adequate and prompt treatment. This knowledge may avoid an unfavourable prognosis of the disease.
