This systematic review and meta-analysis aimed to synthesize evidence on conventional cardiovascular disease (CVD) risk factors among women with previous Gestational Diabetes Mellitus (GDM). The review protocol is registered with PROSPERO (CRD42019118149). PubMed, CINAHL, SCOPUS, and EMBASE databases were searched. Studies reporting on CVD risk factors in women with previous GDM compared to women without previous GDM were selected. A total of 139 studies were eligible, of which 93 were included in the meta-analysis. Women with previous GDM have significantly higher systolic blood pressure (2.47 mmHg 95% CI 1.74 to 3.40, n = 48, 50,118 participants) diastolic blood pressure (1.89 mmHg 95% CI 1.32 to 2.46, n = 48, 49,495 participants), BMI (1.54 kg/m2 95% CI 1.32 to 2.46, n = 78, 255,308 participants), total cholesterol (0.26 SMD 95% CI 0.15 to 0.37, n = 48, 38,561 participants), LDL cholesterol (0.19 SMD 95% CI 0.08 to 0.30, n = 44, 16,980 participants), triglycerides (0.56 SMD 95% CI 0.42 to 0.70, n = 46, 13,175 participants), glucose (0.69 SMD 95% CI 0.56 to 0.81, n = 55, 127,900 participants), insulin (0.41 SMD 95% CI 0.23 to 0.59, n = 32, 8881 participants) and significantly lower HDL cholesterol (-0.28 SMD 95% CI -0.39 to -0.16, n = 56, 35,882 participants), compared to women without previous GDM. The increased blood pressure, total cholesterol, triglycerides and glucose are seen as early as less then 1 year post-partum.Women with previous GDM have a higher risk of CVD based on significant increases in conventional risk factors. Some risk factors are seen as early as less then 1 year post-partum. Women with GDM may benefit from early screening to identify modifiable CVD risk factors.
Despite widespread recognition of the undeniable impact of nurses on patient safety, important barriers relating to the organization of health systems still hinder the full expansion of the role of these professionals. In Quebec (Canada), nurses work overtime and increased adverse events are preoccupying and point to a possible lack of contemporary tools for continuous professional development. Innovative training tools should foster a more reflective practice focused on a holistic view of the patient in order to support the full scope of nursing practice and ensure continuous improvement in the quality of care. Such tools would make it possible to better understand their practice, according to their own perception, as well as its applicability in the emergence of a professional conscience which is essential to lasting safety competencies. This study's overarching goal was to propose a model and a portfolio prototype to support nurses' training.

We analyzed the abnormal gait of hip OA patients by focusing on movements of the trunk and pelvis to establish an effective evaluation index for each direction of motion. We studied 28 patients with secondary hip OA due to developmental dysplasia of the hip and 16 controls. The trunk and pelvic movements during gait were measured in the medial-lateral (x), vertical (y), and back-and-forth (z) directions by a triaxial angular accelerometer. Gait speed, steps, step length, muscle strength, range of motion, and timed up-and-go (TUG) test performance were measured. We determined the correlations between physical function and the index of abnormal gait in the hip OA patients. Movements other than trunk and pelvic motions in the y-direction indicated abnormal gait in the patients. Significant correlations were found between abnormal gait and range of motions (extension, internal rotation), TUG score, stride length, and steps. The TUG test, stride length and steps were important for evaluating abnormal gait in hip OA patients. Individual interventions for each movement direction are required.One potential pathway to find an ultimate rule governing our universe is to hunt for a connection among the fundamental equations in physics. BBRF2 has a compact globular architecture featuring a central β-sheet that is surrounded by 10 helices, it represents a novel fold distinct from other known protein structures. The central portion of BSRF1 folds into two tightly associated antiparallel α-helices, forming a composite four-helix bundle with two α-helices from BBRF2 via a massive hydrophobic network. In vitro, a BSRF1-derived peptide binds to BBRF2 and reduces the number of viral genome copies in EBV-positive cells. Exogenous BBRF2 and BSRF1 co-localize at the Golgi apparatus. Furthermore, BBRF2 binds capsid and capsid-associated proteins, whereas BSRF1 associates with glycoproteins.
