To date, there has been a renewed interest in renin-angiotensin system inhibitors (RASi) for HCC prevention because they may reduce potent angiogenic factors.

This study set out to investigate associations between RASi use and HCC development.

We conducted a nested case-control study. A case was defined as a patient who was newly diagnosed with HCC. We selected 567 cases and controls using 11 propensity score matching. RASi exposure was classified into ever-user and never-user, then categorized according to cumulative dose and prescription period. Adjusted odds ratios (aORs) and 95% confidence intervals (CIs) for HCC incidence according to RASi use were analyzed.

Overall, no significant association was found between exposure to RASi and HCC incidence (ever-user vs. never-user aOR, 0.77; 95% CI, 0.56-1.07). In subgroup analysis, women receiving RASi ≥30 cumulative defined daily doses (cDDDs) showed significantly lower aORs (0.49; 95% CI, 0.24-0.95. Angiotensin II receptor blockers only-use ≥30 cDDD was significantly associated with reduced risk of HCC (aOR, 0.65; 95% CI, 0.43-0.97). Currently, a management algorithm for patientswithout hydrocephalus, Parinaud's syndrome, or pineal apoplexy is lacking.We aimed to identifypredictive factors of pineal cyst volume change andsurgical intervention by performing retrospective chart review of 98 patients between 2005 and 2018 diagnosed with pineal cysts gleaned from our Neurosurgery clinical databases.We included patients whose initial and follow-up MRIs were available in our institutional radiology system or whose surgical pathology confirmed pineal cyst after evaluation with an initial MRI. Patients' medical records were queried for presenting symptoms, demographic, management, and pineal cyst measurements. Three dimensions (anterior-posterior, rostral-caudal, transverse) of pineal cyst size were measured and converted to cyst volume (cm3) for analysis. Fifty-five patients (mean age 26.09 ± 14.7 years) with pineal cysts met study criteria. Follow-up ranged from 4 months to 10 years. The indications for MR imaging included headache (81.8%) and vision problems (42%).Forty-eight patients who were observed had a mean volume change of 0.051 ± 0.862 cm [3] and median volume change of 0 cm [3] Patient symptoms, referral source, and age were not associated with changes in volume on follow-up. Aggregated number of symptoms did not differ between operative and observation patients. (p = 0.29). Pineal cyst volumes tend to remain stable over serial MR images, do not reliably correlate with symptoms, and do not typically require long-term follow-up.
The relationships between momentary affect and weight control behaviors have been extensively studied in samples of individuals with eating disorders, but we do not know that the established relationships translate to healthy college women. The current study examined the relationship between affect and weight control behaviors in healthy college women.

Female college students (N = 67) completed measures of negative affect, positive affect, healthy weight control behaviors, and unhealthy weight control behaviors across fourteen days using ecological momentary assessment.

Average daily negative affect was inversely associated with daily engagement in unhealthy weight control behaviors, but was not associated with healthy weight control behaviors. Average daily positive affect was not associated with daily engagement in healthy or unhealthy weight control behaviors.

Children with intellectual disability (ID), characterized by impairments in intellectual functioning and adaptive behavior, benefit from early identification and access to services. Previous U.S. estimates used administrative data or parent report with limited information for demographic subgroups.

Using empiric measures we examined ID characteristics among 8-year-old children and estimated prevalence by sex, race/ethnicity, geographic area and socioeconomic status (SES) area indicators.

We analyzed data for 8-year-old children in 9 geographic areas participating in the 2014 Autism and Developmental Disabilities Monitoring Network. Children with ID were identified through record review of IQ test data. Census and American Community Survey data were used to estimate the denominator.

Overall, 11.8 per 1,000 (1.2%) had ID (IQ≤70), of whom 39% (n=998) also had autism spectrum disorder. Among children with ID, 1,823 had adaptive behavior test scores for which 64% were characterized as impaired. ID prevalence per 1,000 was 15.
