However, due to low flexural strength and cracking susceptibility caused by the high porosity, pervious concrete is only used in low-volume traffic roadways and parking lots for current service. This study investigated the permeability, strength, and flexural performance of pervious concrete with different coarse aggregate size, geogrid position, and geogrid layer number. Test results indicate that the geogrid placed at an appropriate position in pervious concrete improved the permeability and compressive strength. Four-point bending tests were conducted in the laboratory to evaluate the flexural performance and toughness characteristics of pervious concrete beam. Meanwhile, this study also proposed a new evaluation method to distinguish the contribution of geogrids and concrete mixture to the flexural toughness of pervious concrete beam at the pre-peak and post-peak stages by two toughness indices. Test results indicate that geogrids improved the flexural strength, deformability, and energy absorption capability of pervious concrete beam. The geogrids placed at both one-third and two-thirds of the heights of pervious concrete beam resulted in the optimum flexural performance. Besides, the small size (5-10 mm) aggregates were conducive to providing high flexural strength for the geogrid-reinforced pervious concrete beam, while the large size (10-15 mm) aggregates played a significant role in obtaining noteworthy post-cracking performance.(1) It is estimated that 10% of the world's population will need a dental implant in their lifetime. Despite all the advances in the comprehension of dental implant designs, materials and techniques, traditional implants still have many limitations. Customized root-analogue implants are, therefore, gaining increased interest in dental rehabilitation and are expected to not only preserve more hard and soft tissues but also avoid a second surgery and improve patient overall satisfaction. In this sense, the aim of this review was to collect and analyse the clinical trials and case reports on customized root-analogue implants available in the literature; (2) This review was carried out according to the PRISMA Statement. An electronic database search was performed using five databases PubMed, Google Scholar, Medline, Science Direct, and Scopus. The following keywords were used for gathering data custom-made, dental implants, root-analogue, anatomical, customized and tooth-like; (3) 15 articles meeting the inclusion criteria-articles reporting clinical trials, case reports or animal studies and articles with root-analogue implants and articles with totally customized implant geometries-were selected for the qualitative synthesis. The design and manufacturing techniques, implant material and surface treatments were assessed and discussed; (4) The performance of some root-analogue implants with specific features (i.e., macro-retentions) was successful, with no signs of infection, periodontitis nor bleeding during the follow-up periods.This study investigated chemosensory degradations of soybean and canola oils with repeated frying in order to estimate the quality of the oils.

All chemical parameters increased with repeated frying in both oils. Electronic nose analysis found ethyl butyrate, 2-heptenal, and 2,4-pentanedione as major volatiles for soybean oil and ethyl butyrate and linalool for canola oil. As the numbers of frying increased, all volatiles showed an increased concentration in various extents. In multivariate analyses, ethyl butyrate revealed strong positive correlations with sourness, umami, and sweetness, and umami shtry, fried food development, and fast-food industry.(1) Background The intra-tumoural heterogeneity (ITH) of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and its microenvironment (TME) across primary and secondary disease is poorly characterised. (2) Methods Intra-tumoural (IT) and peri-tumoural (PT) staining of matched primary and secondary samples was conducted to evaluate the distribution of CD4+/FOXP3+ and CD8+/PD1+ T-cells. Samples underwent PD-L1/2 immunostaining, tumour mutational burden (TMB) evaluation, and high-resolution T-cell receptor (TCR) sequencing to derive T-cell clonality and targeted transcriptomics. (3) Results We analysed 24 samples from matched primary (n = 11) and secondary (n = 13; 5 synchronous, 6 metachronous) deposits, 11 being extrahepatic (84.6%). IT CD8+ density was lower than PT in both primary (p = 0.005) and secondary deposits (p = 0.01), consistent with immune exclusion. PD-L1+ tumours displayed higher IT and PT CD8+/PD1+ cell density compared to PD-L1- (p less then 0.05), and primary IT infiltrate was enriched in CD4+/FOXP3+ cells, compared to PT regions (p = 0.004). TCR-sequencing demonstrated enrichment of the top T-cell clonotype in secondary versus primary HCC (p = 0.02), without differences in overall productive clonality (p = 0.35). TMB was similar across primary versus secondary HCC (p = 0.95). While directed gene set analysis demonstrated the uniformity of transcriptional signatures of individual immune cell types, secondary deposits demonstrated higher COLEC12 (p = 0.004), CCL26 (p = 0.02), CD1E (p = 0.02) and CD36 (p = 0.03) expression with downregulation of CXCL1 (p = 0.03), suggesting differential regulation of innate immunity. (4) Conclusion Immune exclusion is a defining feature of the HCC TME. Despite evidence of homogeneity in somatic TMB, secondary HCC is characterised by the expansion of a distinct T-cell clonotype and differential regulation of innate immune pathways.
