This study aims to analyze the index of decayed, missing and filled teeth (DMFT) at age 12 in the Midwest Region and to identify associated factors, according to the National Oral Health Survey "SB Brasil 2010". This is a cross-sectional population-based study from the SB Brasil 2010 database, conducted in the capitals of Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso do Sul, Goiás, Federal District and a sample of municipalities in the region. Data were analyzed by the chi-square test and prevalence ratios with their respective confidence intervals, at a significance level of 5%. https://www.selleckchem.com/ The Poisson regression was used in the multiple analysis to study the association between the outcome variable and the explanatory variables. The independent variables that were associated with the DMFT were the state of residence in Mato Grosso, Goiás and Mato Grosso do Sul; the per capita income ≤ R$500.00; difficulties eating and sleeping, and reason for the visit was Pain/Extraction/Treatment/Other. Mean DMFT was 2.14 and the prevalence of dental caries affected 41% of adolescents. This paper aims to identify the association between overweight and the nutritional composition of human milk. A systematic review was performed by searching on PubMed, Virtual Health Library (BVS), EMBASE, Web of Science, and SCOPUS databases, from May to June 2018, using keywords "Human Milk" AND "Overweight" OR "Obesity" OR "Body Mass Index". The bibliographic search returned 435 papers after the duplicates were removed. Of this total, 12 papers were selected for abstract reading, and nine works were incorporated into this systematic review. Eight papers showed that overweight increased the total concentration of lipids or glucose or macronutrient fractions, and only one study found no association between overweight and the nutritional composition of human milk. Most works selected evidenced that obesity changed the total concentration of lipids and their fractions. Thus, we recommend that women's weight and height be evaluated in the pregestational visit to identify and monitor nutritional deviations, contributing to weight adequacy before pregnancy and assisting in the production of milk with adequate nutritional composition. The aim was to synthesize the best scientific evidence on the effect of sense of coherence in disease development, treatment, and biomedical metabolic control indicators, as well as the complications involved for people at risk of developing diabetes and for diabetics. The systematic review method was implemented. Search and selection efforts of two independent reviewers on Scopus, Web of Science, PubMed, Ebsco, Science Direct, and manuals databases, available until 2017, in Spanish and English, of the population aged 18 and over. From a total of 154 studies, 20 articles were included in the systematic review. Over half of the studies used the SOC-13 version to verify the sense of coherence and the most frequent indicator of metabolic control was glycated hemoglobin. In addition to this, 14 of the 20 studies found a statistically significant relationship between sense of coherence and diabetes. It is concluded that the sense of coherence has a strong correlation with diabetes in the different phases of the disease and is related to the reduction of risk for the development of the disease, a reduction of glycated hemoglobin values, and the appearance of diabetes mellitus-related complications. This study involves an integrative review of the literature regarding the knowledge produced by the scientific community about self-mutilation among adolescents in the period between January 2012 and June 2017. A search was conducted in the SCIELO and CAPES Portal databases in Portuguese, English and Spanish with a final sample of 71 articles. This study revealed a large number of publications at international level, with an emphasis on epidemiological articles and deficiency in the publication of intervention studies that investigate the efficacy of therapies and prevention programs. The consolidation of practices aimed at enhancing resilience corroborates the current paradigm shift within the scope of adolescent health promotion, in which the individual's singularity is considered, as well as his/her relationship with the environment. The scope of the undertaking was to identify protective factors involved in the process of resilience among adolescents. This paper reviews indexed publications describing adolescent care models and interventions. The analysis of the texts consisted of 1) comparing the similarities and differences between the concepts used; and 2) identifying, grouping and compiling the most cited protection factors. A total of 17 articles that strive to enhance resilience in six different practical contexts were analyzed. Based on the protection factors found, 17 actions were generated to guide the development of educational works in health. Protective factors related to "Problem solving", "Valorization of the individual" and "Ability in communication" were identified in several contexts of study on adolescence. These factors represent transversal aspects necessary to enhance resilience and should be stimulated together in order to foster the healthy development of adolescents.Given the extensive costs due to cardiovascular diseases and the increased prevalence of these diseases in farmers, this study aims to estimate the prevalence of cardiovascular risk factors in this population and to evaluate their associated factors. A cross-sectional study was carried out involving 790 farmers from the municipality of Santa Maria de Jetibá-ES, Brazil. Six out of ten evaluated farmers had at least one cardiovascular risk factor (CRF). High blood pressure was the most prevalent risk factor in 35.8% (95%CI 32-39, n = 283) followed by dyslipidemia (34.4%, 95%CI 31-38, n = 272). Those aged more than 50 years were 5.6 times (95%CI 2.03-15.43) more likely to evidence two or more CRFs. High waist circumference or tricipital skinfold indicating overweight increased 2.35 times (95%CI 1.47-3.76) and 1.6 times (95%CI 1.05-2.44) this likelihood, respectively. These findings reveal the high prevalence of CRF in rural workers and the significant impact of age and the accumulation of body fat in the development of these factors, showing the need to intensify public health policies geared to this population.
