Could EU Driving License Poland Costs Be The Key To Achieving 2024?
How Much Does an EU Driving License Cost?

Everyone dreams about having a perfect driving licence, which will never expire. However, the reality is different.

The process of getting a Polish driver's license is complicated. The most important are: medical examination as well as theory and practical instruction. You must also meet the age requirements of the category for which you're applying for a driver's license.

1. Medical exam

The first thing to be completed to obtain your driving licence is getting a doctor's approval (orzeczenie lekarskie) to drive. It may sound odd, but this is how it works in Poland. The doctor will ask a bunch silly questions about your health, such as the case if you're having issues with your vision or other medical issue. They won't examine you physically. The cost for this exam is about 200 PLN.

If you are coming from a country which is part of the EU, EEA, or a member of 1968 Vienna Convention on Road Traffic there is no need to take this extra step as your driving license will be accepted as valid in Poland. If, however, you're from a country which isn't part of any of these groups, then you'll need to pass a medical test as well as a theoretical and practical driving test in order to be able to obtain an official Polish license.

Both of these exams can be completed in English however it is a bit of a hit or miss based on the center. Call ahead to check on availability prior to making an appointment. You'll also have to hire an interpreter if your level of Polish isn't high enough to pass the test.

Once you have your medical certificate you'll need to go to the district authority to fill in a driver profile (PKK – Profil Kandydata na Kierowce). You'll need to submit the passport scan and proof of your residence in Poland and a recent photo in colour.

Then, you enter a special office where they make your personal file, scan your documents and give them to you. You can then start getting ready for your driving test and sign up for an instructor. WORD is readily available in all major cities, and in smaller ones. However some schools require a fee to run their courses.

2. Theory test

If you have a driving license from another country, it is valid in Poland provided you carry an International Driving Permit ('IDP') along with it. fuehrerscheinn.com must have an IDP for each vehicle used in Poland for more than six months. Otherwise, it is necessary to exchange it for an official Polish driving license. You must meet four conditions for the process to be completed that include: you must be a Polish citizen, you must have passed a medical test and you must pass a state driving exam and you must have completed your driving lessons at a school that is approved by the government.

To pass the driving test in the state, you need a Driving Candidate Profile (PKK) and other documents. These include your ID and a health certificate, a valid driving instructor's certificate and an image of your visa or residency permit. The driving test itself consists of two parts: the theory part and the practical. The theory portion comprises 32 multiple-choice tests that cover subjects such as road signs, traffic rules emergency protocols, safe driving practices. To pass, you must correctly answer 26 questions.

The practical part of your driving test involves driving on a highway that is public under supervised supervision. During the time, an instructor will observe your ability to follow the rules of driving, especially in difficult situations like roads or city streets. The duration of the practical test is about 40 minutes.

Before you can pass your state driving test, you need to apply for a PKK at the Province Road Traffic Centers. You'll need to present your identity document as well as proof that you've paid the required fee as well as a photograph of yourself. If you don't speak Polish an experienced translator will accompany you during the examination.

3. Practical test

If you're driving on a foreign licence you'll also have to pass the practical test. This is a more difficult test than the one for theory and the rate of passing is very low. You are only able to take the practical test in the event that you are legally resident of Poland. If not, your driving licence will be valid for a long time. You may be fined if are stopped by the police for driving without a valid driver's licence.

To take the practical test, you have to complete an application form in Polish. Google Translate can help. Also, you must have medical evidence that shows you're qualified to drive.

You have to bring a photo ID, the evidence of your health insurance coverage, and a recent photo in colour (size 3,5 cm x 4,5 cm). You will need to join the department of civil affairs as a candidate for driving and this will require you to fill in a driving profile of the candidate (RKK) and receive a code number to enter into the system.

The process is often complicated and time-consuming, particularly in the event that you're unfamiliar with Polish language. It's best to hire an instructor who speaks English and book your lessons in advance. In certain regions, you can also find driving schools that provide lessons in English.

Anyone applying for an Polish driving license is required to provide a copy the residence permit or visa for non-EU citizens. This is required to prove that you have lived in Poland for at least one 185-day period.

The office will also require proof of payment for practical and theory tests. The total cost should be approximately 1500 PLN. There is the option of paying in cash, however, this does not guarantee speedier processing of documents. The entire process can take two to four weeks. In certain areas, it could be even longer. Ask the local office if are not sure of the deadlines.

4. Documents

For foreigners who have moved to Poland and wish to drive, obtaining an Polish driver's license is vital to avoid issues with car insurance. However, before they can obtain that, they must pass the exam in theory and this costs them. This process will be easier for foreigners who are citizens of countries which have signed the Vienna Convention on Road Traffic of 1968.

The first thing they need to do is verify that they have lived in Poland for a minimum of six months. This must be proven by an address registration for local addresses or residence permit, or visa. You must also fill out a complete application form. The form can be found online or in the local office. You must also provide an image of recent date that is 35 x 45 mm as well as documents of identification, such as a passport. Additionally, they should provide an official certificate from the health care system that confirms that they do not have any medical contraindications to driving.

After they have submitted the documents after which the voivodship office will draft their driving license document for issue. This usually takes up to 9 working days. If the case requires an extensive examination the wait time could be up to 1 month.

In addition to the document that demonstrates the right to reside in Poland A foreign national must also provide a copy of their medical certificate. It is crucial to have a valid medical certification because without it, the foreigner will be required to retake the theory test, which can extend the time they wait by as much as two months.

Once your driving licence has been issued after the driving licence is issued, you are required to pay an office fee. The cost is 100 PLN (for EU citizens) and 250 PLN (for non-EU citizens). This fee is payable via bank transfer, debit or credit card. The driver's license will then be sent to the address of the applicant's home. If, for any reason, the driving license is not issued, an appeal could be made to the Local Government Appeals Board in Rzeszow via the City Mayor.
