Results A total of 94 sTBI patients with bilateral dilated pupils and a GCS score lower than five who underwent emergency DC were enrolled. In total, 74 patients (78.7%) died within 30 days, and 84 (89.4%) had a poor 6-month outcome (GOS 1-2). Conclusions The mortality and disability rates are extremely high in severe TBI patients undergoing emergency DC with bilateral fixed pupils and a GCS score less then 5. DC is more valuable for younger patients.Objective Balance dysfunction after stroke often results in individuals unable to maintain normal posture, limits the recovery of gait and functional independence. We explore the short-term effects of transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) on improving balance function and gait in stroke patients. Methods We systematically searched on PubMed, Web of Science, EMBASE, Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials, and Google Scholar for studies that explored the effects of tDCS on balance after stroke until August 2020. All involved studies used at least one measurement of balance, gait, or postural control as the outcome. Results A total of 145 studies were found, of which 10 (n = 246) met the inclusion criteria and included in our studies. The present meta-analysis showed that active tDCS have beneficial effects on timed up and go test (TUGT) [mean difference (MD) 0.35; 95% confidence interval (CI) 0.11 to 0.58] and Functional Ambulation Category (FAC) (MD -2.54; 95% CI -3.93 to -1.15) in stroke patients. However, the results were not significant on the berg balance scale (BBS) (MD -0.20; 95% CI -1.44 to 1.04), lower extremity subscale of Fugl-Meyer Assessment (FMA-LE) (MD -0.43; 95% CI -1.70 to 0.84), 10-m walk test (10 MWT) (MD -0.93; 95% CI -2.68 to 0.82) and 6-min walking test (6 MWT) (MD -2.55; 95% CI -18.34 to 13.23). Conclusions In conclusion, we revealed that tDCS might be an effective option for restoring walking independence and functional ambulation for stroke patients in our systematic review and meta-analysis. Methods Forty consecutive patients with mild ischemic stroke within onset of 14 ± 2 days were enrolled between March and June 2018. The clinical information, scale data, biomarkers in peripheral venous blood, and imaging data during hospitalization and follow-up period were collected. Results Patient age (range 34-78) was positively correlated with the prevalence of fatigue (p = 0.009). Both blood norepinephrine and serotonin levels during hospitalization were negatively correlated to the prevalence of post-stroke fatigue (model 1 p = 0.009 and model 2 P = 0.043, respectively). Infarct of right cerebral hemisphere is positively correlated with the occurrence of fatigue after mild ischemic stroke (p = 0.020). Compared to non-fatigue patients, amplitude of low-frequency fluctuation (ALFF) was lower in several areas of brain in stroke patients with fatigue, including the right orbital inferior frontal, right inner orbital frontal, right frontal, right triangular frontal inferior, right anterior and lateral cingulate, and right medial frontal gyruses. Analysis of the difference in functional connectivity between the fatigue and non-fatigue groups found no cluster. Conclusions Frontal lobe-related neural pathways may play an essential role in the regulation of fatigue after mild ischemic stroke. Randomized controlled trials or controlled trials involving adults who have hand function problems caused by stroke are included in this study. The methodological quality and risk of bias of the included studies were rated by two independent assessors under the guidance of Cochrane collaboration's risk of bias tool. Results Twelve studies that met the inclusion criteria were included in this study. Totally, the data included 598 stroke patients (345 male, 253 female) with recruited time from 1.7 months to 3 years, and the mean age of the participants were 61.
