Members of the family Nairoviridae produce enveloped virions with three single-stranded RNA segments comprising 17.1 to 22.8 kb in total. These viruses are maintained in arthropods and transmitted by ticks to mammals or birds. Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever virus is tick-borne and is endemic in most of Asia, Africa, Southern and Eastern Europe whereas Nairobi sheep disease virus, which is also tick-borne, causes lethal haemorrhagic gastroenteritis in small ruminants in Africa and India. This is a summary of the International Committee on Taxonomy of Viruses (ICTV) Report on the family Nairoviridae, which is available at ictv.global/report/nairoviridae.Finnlakeviridae is a family of icosahedral, internal membrane-containing bacterial viruses with circular, single-stranded DNA genomes. The family includes the genus, Finnlakevirus, with the species, Flavobacterium virus FLiP. Flavobacterium phage FLiP was isolated with its Gram-negative host bacterium from a boreal freshwater habitat in Central Finland in 2010. It is the first described single-stranded DNA virus with an internal membrane and shares minimal sequence similarity with other known viruses. The virion organization (pseudo T=21 dextro) and major capsid protein fold (double-β-barrel) resemble those of Pseudoalteromonas phage PM2 (family Corticoviridae), which has a double-stranded DNA genome. A similar major capsid protein fold is also found in other double-stranded DNA viruses in the kingdom Bamfordvirae. This is a summary of the International Committee on Taxonomy of Viruses (ICTV) report on the family Finnlakeviridae, which is available at ictv.global/report/finnlakeviridae.Artificial intelligence (AI) is becoming increasingly present in radiology and health care. This expansion is driven by the principal AI strengths automation, accuracy, and objectivity. However, as radiology AI matures to become fully integrated into the daily radiology routine, it needs to go beyond replicating static models, toward discovering new knowledge from the data and environments around it. Continuous learning AI presents the next substantial step in this direction and brings a new set of opportunities and challenges. Herein, the authors discuss the main concepts and requirements for implementing continuous AI in radiology and illustrate them with examples from emerging applications. Background Solid components of part-solid nodules (PSNs) at CT are reflective of invasive adenocarcinoma, but studies describing radiomic features of PSNs and the perinodular region are lacking. Purpose To develop and to validate radiomic signatures diagnosing invasive lung adenocarcinoma in PSNs compared with the Brock, clinical-semantic features, and volumetric models. Materials and Methods This retrospective multicenter study (https//ClinicalTrials.gov, NCT03872362) included 291 patients (median age, 60 years; interquartile range, 55-65 years; 191 women) from January 2013 to October 2017 with 297 PSN lung adenocarcinomas split into training (n = 229) and test (n = 68) data sets. Radiomic features were extracted from the different regions (gross tumor volume [GTV], solid, ground-glass, and perinodular). Random-forest models were trained using clinical-semantic, volumetric, and radiomic features, and an online nodule calculator was used to compute the Brock model. Performances of models were evaluated using sing the invasiveness of lung adenocarcinoma, yielding a better predictive performance than the Brock, clinical-semantic, volumetric, and radiomics gross tumor volume models. Purpose To evaluate the diagnostic yield of staging brain MRI in the initial evaluation of lung cancer. Materials and Methods This retrospective, observational, single-institution study included patients with newly diagnosed NSCLC who underwent staging chest CT and staging brain MRI from November 2017 to October 2018. Diagnostic yield was defined as the proportion of patients with brain metastases among all patients. Yield was stratified into clinical stage groups per the eighth edition of the American Joint Committee on Cancer staging guidelines, based on staging chest CT and in adenocarcinoma with epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) gene mutation and anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK) gene rearrangement. Subgroup analyses were performed on the basis of cell types and molecular markers. The χ2 test was performed to compare the diagll lung cancer was low, but staging brain MRI had a higher diagnostic yield in clinical stage IB and epidermal growth factor receptor mutation-positive adenocarcinoma. © RSNA, 2020 Online supplemental material is available for this article. Background T2 mapping is an important cardiac MRI technique with applications in various conditions. Smoothened antagonist However, a comprehensive evaluation of the T2 literature for normal values is lacking. Purpose To characterize the ranges of normal values and variability of myocardial T2 relaxation times using a systematic review and meta-analysis of the T2 literature. Materials and Methods PubMed and Cochrane Central were searched from June 2019 to January 2020 for myocardial T2 measurements in healthy adults. Studies quantifying T2 relaxation times conducted at 1.5 T or 3.0 T using gradient and spin-echo (GRASE) or T2-prepared balanced steady-state free precession sequences were included. Summary means were generated using a random-effects model. Subgroup analysis and meta-regression were performed to assess factors causing heterogeneity. Results Of the 2481 articles retrieved, 42 studies were included with 954 healthy adults (mean age, 42.4 years ± 10.5 [standard deviation]; 538 men). The pooled mean of T2 across studies .Background Diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) shows promise in detecting and monitoring breast cancer, but standard spin-echo (SE) echo-planar DWI methods often have poor image quality and low spatial resolution. Proposed alternatives include readout-segmented (RS) echo-planar imaging and axially reformatted (AR)-simultaneous multislice (SMS) imaging. Purpose To compare the resolution and image quality of standard SE echo-planar imaging DWI with two high-spatial-resolution alternatives, RS echo-planar and AR-SMS imaging, for breast imaging. Materials and Methods In a prospective study (2016-2018), three 5-minute DWI protocols were acquired at 3.0 T, including standard SE echo-planar imaging, RS echo-planar imaging with five segments, and AR-SMS imaging with four times slice acceleration. Participants were women undergoing breast MRI either as part of a treatment response clinical trial or undergoing breast MRI for screening or suspected cancer. A commercial breast phantom was imaged for resolution comparison. Three breast radiologists reviewed images in random order, including clinical images indicating the lesion, images with b value of 800 sec/mm2, and apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) maps from the three randomly labeled DWI methods.
